True, the purpose of these leaders/aristocrats, was for them to protect the people by leading their defense against their enemies. Some did, some saw more to their own short term benefits and allied themselves with the enemies, the court Jew. But the people saw that, and thus sooner or later the Jews were expulsed from the kingdom/principality, probably as the throne passed to someone more aligned with the interest of the people rather than the pleasures of life. Sometimes the ruler realized he was misled initially and then kicked them out.

However today with chemical and electronical brainwashing, this doesn’t happen any longer. Their grip on the agenda is too strong and encompassing.
