The wall - which Trump claimed Mexico (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/mexico/index.html) would build throughout his campaign - is being funded by the spending bill he signed in March that allocated $1.6billion to the wall.
A news released from U.S. Customs and Border Protection claims that the current barrier - which consist of scrap metal going up to 10ft will be replaced with a 'bollard-style wall.'

The project takes after two that are already underway in Calexico, California and Santa Teresa, New Mexico.
'The construction of this new substantial wall will improve overall border security, the safety and effectiveness of Border Patrol agents, the safety of the public, and will enhance the atmosphere for business and commerce in the area,' said Rodney Scott, chief patrol agent for the San Diego sector.
The sentiment was shared with Ronald Vitiello, CBP's acting deputy commissioner, who added: 'Under this President's leadership, we have a renewed commitment to secure our border.
'The new primary wall project represents an important milestone in our work to secure the international border.
