On this topic both the Democrats and Republicans are united. The debate between these two groups is solely on the ideology of the patch that would be most effective in fixing government. Federalism doesn't work. This is not new information. It is what politicians have been concentrating on since at least 1800.

No amount of patching can fix a fundamentally flawed model.

A start would be to take responsibility for yourself. That would be a good end as well. Government is for those who cannot govern themselves. If you are responsible then the model government uses becomes irrelevant.

What is in progress is federalism
1) through the lens of Democrat principles
or
2) through the lens of Republican principles
