Its been gnawing at me for while

Every since my Mom passed It helped me put things in perspective:if there is something that you want to do you better do it.cause when your time is up , you dont get a do over and whatever wasn't done or tried will forever remain unfulfilled.

That being said I feel the moment is now. You always had the ability to make a video and have it go viral ...but I am seeing a wellspring of people just take to the net and toss there two cents out there and see what happens because they feel as though they have something to say( the election of trump has definitely cranked this up on the volume meter.

Anyways ......

My biggest Achilles heel is i have zero computer experience over and above watching you tube on my phone so I definitely need to get educated just on mainframe type stuff, then there is archiving of videos and editing ( which i here is the most tedious part)

Also I would spend a good chuck of my time commenting on the work of others and you have to be careful because there is also sorts of copy right infringement and nasty thing people can do to shut you up.

but the biggest hang there would be is get paid for my services. i dont want to do you tube ad sense because I hate commercials and besides that is one of the chief ways they deny revenue is demonetizing them . I know about patreon and stuff like that I would want to set something up just make sure it isnt in my legal name just in case if things go bad or some hacker tries to doxx me .

Anyways im just rambling now.

I would like to get something set up before the years is going .any ideas and incites would be greatly appreciated

Scott Adams uses periscope, if you wanted to just stream something.

Example:
https://www.periscopen.com/ScottAdamsSays

I think its as easy as installing an app on your phone.

So depending on what you wanted to do, you could start out with simply doing streams.

yeah same idea has tumbled around the brain for a few years now! Urge mostly stems from my 1000s of hrs of listening to similar "amateur podcasters" over the recent years. I consider either an audio only MP3 pod, or a YT which could show me talking, or not-- IE just show a constant title, or even a slideshow, with my audio over it. Initial impulse would be an anon screen name & voiceover only, as part of my 'mission' would always be waking peeps up to the JP, which they're very protective of, and retaliatory towards those exposing! John Friend? too many others to count. And FFs/hoaxes, which always seem to have those dinjoo-nuffins' fingerprints over-representing! YT went on a ruthless purge of truther channels following last Feb's Parkland FL school shooting hoax.

Personally I'd shy away from any sort of "monetization", certainly at first. It could just end up being a flash in the pan, netting a few 10s of views, and I decide it's a waste of time or whatever. If it grew legs, and I were really delivering a steady stream of high quality info... I may look into getting some sort of revenue from it. But that always taints the soup, too. I see numerous YT vloggers who I once thought were respectable, begin debasing themselves with clickbaitey titles/thumbnails, & dwelling on topics which are the hot clickbait of the week, rather than what's important.

Other than those thoughts, I'd say avoid the temptation to brain dump every thought you've long dreamed of having a platform to pass on to an audience, all into your first 2/3/whatever hour epic pod. Keep it under 30 mins; "less is more" at first. You're an unknown quantity to your potential audience; and I can't tell you how many vids I pass over from YT search results, the second I see how absurdly looooooong they are, relative to their simple & enticing titles/thumbnails!

Editing can be somewhat tedious, but it's also where the magic happens. It's where the story gets told. Skilled editing is also the most useful tool for deception, so everything really depends on the decisions of the editor.

I used to videotape my grandson's T-ball games. Try taking a season's worth of video clips - some 800 at-bats - and making a 3 minute music video out of it.

the (late?*) Glass had this thread going, 60 replies but many go into YTs censorship/demonetization of voices they don't like,

Thread: Making money on Youtube (http://gold-silver.us/forum/showthread.php?89342-Making-money-on-Youtube)

Another thing I'd have if YT was the venue for my junk, is an "index of topics discussed" in the More Info box. James Corbett (263 K subs) (https://www.youtube.com/user/corbettreport/videos) has done this for a long time; open any of his longer vids & see how it's done... not nec with very short vids of course.

* I've long suspected our old Aussi contributor "Glass" may have passed away, & we never got word. No one here met/knew him personally, that I'm aware of. IIRC, he mentioned having Morgellons' syndrome one time? I recall he had some health affliction, just not positive what it was any more!

Absolutely stay away from the robot voice. No matter what the content is as soon as I hear a robot voice I immediately switch it off.

I hope you are wrong, but he has disappeared for more than a year now, and I don’t remember him going off for long times prior. He was very active towards the end and then nothing for no apparent reason no login either. I suppose he could have been paralyzed or left with memory issues after a stroke as well. Or he just said fuckit one day had enough of this bullshit.I’ll do something better with my time.

Anyway, hope to see you again Glass!

Anyway, hope to see you again Glass! Glass is one that I had his personal e mail and even that went poof unanswered for near a year or over. Enjoyed his posts, hope he is still sucking air and out of trouble. He as/is a good one, he just might have said fuckit and left as many here have done, more to life than here.

yeah ben der dun dat... has text-to-voice (T2V) improved any? Esp WRT the whole "voice intonation, relative to where they are in the sentence structure" thing, I mean?

Often times, I wouldn't mind just right-clicking a text news/opinion article, selecting "T2V" and having some app save the T2V version as an mp3 on my device, for later hands/eyes-off listening.

but the robot voice shit consumes ~half my brain deciphering, considering how it could be improved, etc.

& my little robot sex doll beeeotch agrees todalllly.

If you give out your real name at some point, you are hanging your family out there too. Today's troll army is becoming viscous. I think you can post about anything to jewtube as long as it is not monetized.
