Los Angeles police say the suspect who allegedly vandalized President Trump's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame has been taken into custody, but this isn't the first time his star has been destroyed.

Donald Trump's star on the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame has been smashed to bits.
On Wednesday morning, news broke that Trump’s star on the famous Hollywood walkway was destroyed. The Daily Beast (https://www.thedailybeast.com/trumps-star-on-hollywood-walk-of-fame-destroyed-with-pickaxe) reported that the star had been smashed with a pickaxe overnight.

According to the Associated Press, Los Angeles police Officer Ray Brown said the star vandalism was reported around 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday and a man has since been taken taken into custody. Brown did not offer any other information on the vandal suspect.

KUTV’s reporter Ron Bird tweeted a video from the scene showing a completely bashed slab where the president's star used to be. Trump was awarded his Hollywood Walk of Fame honor for his work as the creator and host of the reality series "The Apprentice."
But this isn't the first time Trump's star has taken a hit. Back in 2016, right before the real-estate mogul was elected President of the United States, his star was defaced

According to TMZ (http://www.tmz.com/2016/10/26/donald-trump-hollywood-walk-star-vandalized-sledge-hammer/), the vandal scratched off Trump's name and his television icon, which appeared on the face of the star. Deadline Hollywood reported that a man by the name of Jamie Otis took credit for destroying the star. He told the outlet that his intent was to auction off the removed parts of the star to raise money for the legal defense of Trump accusers.
The star was also defaced another in February of 2016 and spray painted (http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-swastika-donald-trump-hollywood-star-20160201-story.html) with a swastika.

What kind of society do we live in when the vandals are cheered as heroes.

MAXINE WATERS: PEOPLE SHOULD BE ‘OUT IN THE STREETS SCREAMING’ OVER TRUMP
5:55 PM 07/25/2018

California Rep. Maxine Waters said that Americans should be “out in the streets screaming” about President Trump in a Wednesday interview.

Waters told CNBC’s John Harwood, “I think [Trump’s] dangerous.”

“I don’t know why people take it. I think Americans should be out in the streets screaming to the top of their voice. Do something. Make something happen,” she continued.

During the interview, she also said, “[Trump is] one of the most deplorable people I’ve ever encountered in my life.”

These comments come after Waters encouraged the harassment of Trump cabinet members in June.

“If you see anybody from that cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station — you get out and you create a crowd,” Waters said. “And you push back on them. Tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere!”

West Hollywood City Council to vote on removing Trump's Walk of Fame star (http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/400597-west-hollywood-city-council-to-vote-about-removing-trumps-walk)

The West Hollywood City Council is voting on whether to seek the removal of President Trump (http://thehill.com/people/donald-trump)'s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

According to The Hollywood Reporter (https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/weho-city-council-vote-removing-trumps-walk-fame-star-1132369), the city council is looking to vote Monday night on a resolution (http://weho.granicus.com/MetaViewer.php?view_id=&event_id=1064&meta_id=153340) that urges the Los Angeles City Council and Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to remove the marker.

The star has been repeatedly vandalized and destroyed twice since Trump took office.

"The City Council will consider adopting a resolution urging the Los Angeles City Council and Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to remove President Donald J. Trump’s star from the Hollywood Walk of Fame, due to his disturbing treatment of women and other actions that do not meet the shared values of the City of West Hollywood, the region, state, and country," the city council wrote in the resolution.

"Having a 'star' on the Walk of Fame is a privilege that is highly sought after by those in the entertainment industry, allowing Mr. Trump to continue to have a star in light of his behavior toward women, particularly in the #timesup and #metoo movements, should not be acceptable in the Hollywood and entertainment industry communities,” the resolution continued.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has said in the past that it would never remove stars because of a backlash.

But the city council also pointed out in the resolution that the Walk of Fame is still the “property of the City of Los Angeles” and that the city has the “ultimate responsibility for the condition and maintenance of the Walk of Fame.”

The resolution arrives weeks after a man used a pickax to vandalize the president’s star.

The man, Austin Clay, later claimed responsibility for vandalizing Trump's star and turned himself in at the Beverly Hills police headquarters. He was reportedly bailed out (http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/398893-man-who-vandalized-trumps-walk-of-fame-star-bailed-out-by-guy) by the man who vandalized the star years ago, James Otis.

Trump was awarded his star on the prestigious stretch of Hollywood Blvd in Los Angeles, Calif. in 2007 during the height of his “Apprentice” fame, and it has been defaced and vandalized numerous times since he has been in office.

President Trump deserves a Nobel Peace Prize & his star should be removed because it’s surrounded by sick child raping actors like Kevin Spacey! He is taking predators down and should be on a pedestal for his heroism, not a sidewalk surrounded by sickos in HELLYWOOD!

(Where has Trump ever abused women?? ???)I don't think Trump has abused women, the best they can do is say that his crass talk equates to abuse, but there are actual hollywood actors/producers who have IRL raped and groped women against their will, which is (to any reasonable person) much worse than mean words. So why aren't there city council resolutions to take all their stars away too?

^ don't forget the systemic, conveyor belt pedoSadism, pedoRape incl pre-pubescents... & pedoVore-ism :(

"crass talk", "mean words"; & really the only instance we have evidence of was when he was riding that bus with some tabloid TV show "bro", and it was "locker room talk" with the presumption of privacy... & every man knows they're "guilty" of that at some points; so that ended up being a nothing burger, as far as killery campaign's calculation that the recording would derail Trump.

That's the point - his "mean words" equate to abuse of women per the city council resolution. If the city council doesn't have more hearings and votes to tear out every single star representing a hollywood actor/producer who physically raped/abused actual women, then they are saying that mean words from a republican are worse than actual rape and sexual assault.
