McCanney talks about his wind mill electrical generator. 39; &53 minute mark
It uses airfoils as opposed to blades that the 3 bladed generators we see all over, use. They only work as long as the gov subsidizes them, once the subsidies run out they go idle because they are so inefficient (3%) and prone to breakdown.

He explains the Betz law (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Betz's_law) which is like using a board for a wing on an airplane instead of an airfoil. On a 3 blade wind generator double the size and get double the energy. While on McCanney's Wing generator double the size and get 8 time the energy; two cubed and 3 times the size equals 3 cubed or 27 times the energy. His smallest model is 12 meters in diameter.

i wonder why electric cars need recharging by elec grid.

couldnt they add a wind turbine or two that would charge one battery while they drive on the other battery? could mount them in the grill...or on the tail, etc.

The amount of energy that comes from the wind is less than the total wind energy. It is not perpetual motion.

Add to that the load of the wind driven generators increasing the demand on the batteries pushing the car through the wind.

in my minds eye it would increase the range double digits - maybe even 50 percent. there is plenty of wind to be had while the thing is driving on first battery. possibly a turbine that has little to no drag - like a hole with thin rotor exciting a stator

may even mount it vertically, instead of horizontal -- thousands of combos to play with

best way i can describe it is converting waste drag into productive drag
