What's so special about the lobsters that they deserve a monument? What about all the other animals killed on the road, like raccoons that get run over or the bugs that splatter on your windshield?

These people really are insane

PETA released the following statement after being denied by the Maine DOT:

"After being informed this morning that our request to place a memorial near the site of a transport truck crash that reportedly resulted in the suffering and deaths of thousands of lobsters has been denied by MDOT because that specific portion of the highway prohibits any signage due to safety reasons, we’ve asked MDOT to give us the nearest permissible location for the memorial. We still plan to place the memorial, which will remind drivers that they can help prevent more accidents like this, and spare lobsters and other sensitive, intelligent animals from abuse and a violent, painful death by eating vegan."

The sensitive intelligent lobsters had already figured out they were doomed, when they got loaded on the truck, and appreciated that their suffering ended earlier than any of them could have wished for.

Essentially lobsters are nothing but insects that live in the sea. If it is any comfort to PETA, lobsters or it’s genetic relatives whatever they are called will most likely survive humanoids, but I don’t expect them to feel any concern of our future demise. Neither will they go and visit PETA’s monument as a pilgrimage.

Almost ALL animals are intelligent in their natural environment.

Take a lobster and put him in a cage that dumps out on a freeway, not a natural environment. They will die.

2nd example: pick a few ghetto niggers and the police chase them through backyards until they fall into a pool. They die.

So we should erect statues for every time something happens for anyone or anything that failed outside their particular environment?

Someone needs to put a giant red bib on the monument with a tub of butter next to it.
