After Friday night's blockbuster NYT report in which according to Andrew McCabe's personal files, the deputy Attorney General has offered to record president Trump (whether or not jokingly), and proposed invoking Article 25, and which prompted speculation that Trump would fire Rosenstein imminently, moments ago Axios reported that Rosenstein has decided preempt that step and has verbally resigned to Chief of Staff John Kelly in anticipation of being fired by President Trump, according to a source with direct knowledge.

Per a source close to Rosenstein: “He’s expecting to be fired,” so plans to step down.

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is resigning, according to Axios, which cited a source familiar with the matter.
"He's expecting to be fired," a source close to Rosenstein told Axios, the website reported Monday. He plans to step down, Axios reported.
Rosenstein's expected resignation will immediately raise questions about the fate of the ongoing investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller, who is probing Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, and possible obstruction of justice by President Donald Trump.

If Axios is not lying, they just received the full text of a formal resignation letter from Rosenstein, and have confirmed my post yesterday about Noel Francisco.

So Trump did send out mixed versions of the story to uncover leaks, but the root story was true.

If Francisco takes over Rosenstein's job, it is going to screw the deep state totally. We need to pray for Francisco to not be assassinated because he's going to be in a key position to route the deep state and they will no doubt want him dead. As I said yesterday, this is a probable example of Trump's "5D chess" because Francisco was placed in a powerless position that did not get attention so the left did not squawk, and with Rosenstein's resignation suddenly he's Darth against the deep state.

Rosenstein story fake news?



As it turns out, Trump set up a media sting to find leakers in the white house. He told different people slightly different versions of the story - Rosenstein was on his way out - to see who leaked what to where.
It was a sting. So though I'd like to say Rosenstein is out (he still might be, but not yet) sadly, the following report should be ignored,

Trump fooled everyone (including me) and I did not know until I was going over the news at 8 PM.Trump got enormously valuable intelligence from this, he will now be able to track down who leaked what to where by seeing what versions of the story he told to different people ended up where. Great move. Let the firings commence!

As side note, I'd be thrilled if he tested Jared and Ivanka with this, only to have them fail - I do not believe at least Jared can be trusted.
