Dennis and Kem Parada have spent years prospecting for a legendary stash of Civil War gold in Dents Run, Pennsylvania
Last March, feeling quite certain they had found the treasure’s hiding place, the Paradas led the FBI to the spot.
They showed agents how their sophisticated metal detector went crazy when aimed at the spot where they believed the gold was hidden.
Within a month, the FBI had hired an outside firm to conduct an underground scan using a device called a gravimeter. The scan identified a large metallic mass with the density of gold, according to the Paradas and Warren Getler, an author and journalist who’s been working with them, reports the Associated Press.
The Paradas and Getler said the FBI agreed to let them observe the excavation, but then confined them to their car so they were unable to watch the digging.
At the end of the excavation, the FBI led the father-son duo to an empty hole.

The message is clear. The SHAFT is what you are shown when the gold is gone.
This is the same message left by Roosevelt in 1933. Nice to see the government is consistent with their policy.

They should have just shoveled and shut up.

They should have just shoveled and shut up.
Sure, then they would've been incarcerated and goldless.

Zerohedge article doesn't answer basic q's like, what prevented the Parada's from digging it up themselves, w/o the feds? Was it BLM-land, or Nat Park, or... where it was technically forbidden to dig? And/or a practical matter, re the depth somehow needing special earth-mover equip trucked in? :(??

Considering it was buried without "special earth-mover equipment"...no.
Lesson learned: They should've gotten some help from some relatives and/or very close trustworthy friends, gone out there when everyone else is busy (e.g. Christmas) and dug it up as covertly and quickly as possible. NEVER TRUST STATE ACTORS TO TREAT YOU FAIRLY.

Never trust the government, ever. They are thieves and dishonorable liars. Too many good people still have come to terms with the reality: our government IS the mob.

I thought for sure that I read it was on State owned land at the link.
The Paradas spent five years digging in a cave on state land and two more years drilling atop the cave before going to the FBI in January with their evidence.
A typical finders fee might be around $12,500,000.00, after taxes and fees sum around $50

Obviously I've never looked for nor found any even remotely close to what these folks found (the best thing I ever dug up was a $5 gold half eagle). Like Neuro said, what is wrong with people? How does this even enter their minds?

I'm sure there was a clear reason for calling The State (public cave/drilling/depth) video looks like a caldera coulda caved the cave...
Not sure why FEDERAL B.I. would be called in?
The state may have had a bill that need be paid or were too dumb/incompetent to see easy money.

I know this was touched on by more than a few people -- but I don't feel sorry for them. If you're going to reach out to the FBI [of all agencies....], you deserve to get nothing. Here's an epic instance of wtf were you thinking????
