Most of the Slovak nation considers the “Slovak National Uprising” (SNU) of 1944 as a heroic event in their history. It was supposed to be a heroic fight of the nation against fascism and a bad regime. Was it really so? Did it really happen the way the official history portrays it? Is there something the Slovak nation should be proud of, and did it really accomplish anything? Let’s take a closer look.
