A Steve Quayle reader has reported that the 2 dozen gold Krugerrands he kept stored in his safety deposit box in a Cincinnati 5/3rd Bank have been confiscated, and that the 5/3 Bank Manager informed him that a CIA agent was the culprit who cleaned out his stash of phyzz- but that all fiat dollars were left untouched in the box.

While this in an anecdotal account, this emphasizes a point we have long made here at SD: if you don’t hold it, you don’t own it!

I woke up and thought . I think i will go to the bank today and see the gold coins my grandpa gave me about 15 yrs ago as its been about 2 yrs now since I have been to the Bank Box. So when i got there the bank mgr asks me how are you today, Mr Jones i am fine I would like to see my bank BOX please !!!!. Senior Officer–OK- Mr Jones this way . So he takes me into the vault room and Brings me my safety deposit Box here’s your box Mr Jones, take as long as you want , Ok thank you i said . To my surprise the (2 dozens GOLD KRUGERRANDS) that I had are GONE!


WHAT!!!!!!! Mr mgr where are my coins who has been in the box– No one should have been in it- its My box .


The bank mgr said the CIA has taken them, they think you are in the MOB . What there has not been a police officer notify me or i have not been arrested for anything! that’s B . S !


You will hear from my lawyer so that’s were i am at right now. But here is the kicker– there was money in the box to and it was knot touched . I am still waiting for my lawyer to get back with me at this time . The bank was 5/3 of CINCINNATI OHIO, so if anyone has a bank box with this company or any bank at this time –PLEASE get your stuff out of your safety deposit boxes now before its too LATE!!!!!!!!


2 dozen gold coins at 1 troy oz are about $41,000. us dollars that’s two years of hard work for me and my family I am so mad about this ROBBERY AND INJUSTICE that has been done to me and my family at this time . THANKS –

if they come to your place looking for precious metals, maybe offer them the lawn chairs, you know, the kind made from Aluminum Tubing ?

Aluminum is an extremely useful metal.

I actually keep a stash of scrap metal near the entrance to my driveway, in case i am visited by some tweakers looking for scrap metal.

i'm thinking they will go for the 'easy money'.


the US gov. can have my extra lawn chairs too. they can even fight with the tweakers over who gets my lawn chairs.

No, but I'll be the furst to admit that the story sounds fishy. I'm not convinced it is true. This could be an attempt to conceal a family theft. Or someone decided to throw a big fish tale to Quayle and watch him run with it. But the story brings up a larger point: is it inconcievable that this could happen? IMHO, in extreme circumstances, the government can justify any action, the laws be damned and the people are in practice impotent to stop them. For me, Cyprus was a wake up all. Any wealth not in your own possession is up for grabs. And governments the world over are indebted like never before in all of history and desperate for money, anyone's money. The ECB/Troika made a play for reputed $trillions (not a few $billions) of Russian ex-KGB money, money ostensiby controlled by Putin and the Russian government. That's desperation in my book. It has blown up in their faces: the Russians front ran their grab and pulled it all out months ago. Now the ECB/troika have to face the Cypriot people who haven't been told the truth: you have lost everything because all of the money is gone. The thing about American banks is, they have no money either. It is all an illusion. But the mob doesn't understand this because it's too busy cashing welfare checks and shopping at Walmarts. The mob will not accept such intellectual explanations for why the money ran out. Government will have to come up with it. And if it means looting the savers and asset owners, so be it: it's for the good of the collective.

This story seems a little fishy. Why did the bank manager not notify the customer regarding the CIA request to open his deposit box?

Very odd. But it doesn't change the conclusion: "If you don't hold it..."

To me, the safety deposit risk is less about confiscation, but more about access, or "capital control", as they like to call it. Your gold might still be there, but you can't have it until they say so.

This is akin to what is going on with the time deposits in Cypress. Time deposits (e.g. CD's) are not being allowed to mature to allow withdrawal. You still "own it", but they'll let you know when your CD matures, regardless of the actual terms you agreed to.

I'm just amazed at how many reminders I've seen lately that we don't own anything. We're all here to just add value to somebody else--an owner. You can only become an owner by invitation. Until that happens work hard and obey all the rules.

i believe the policy in some cases is, that the bank is forbidden from discussing the details with the official holder of the SD box.

this happened in the UK and it was very for real.


of course, some SD boxes are in less than secure vaults. so there is the very real possibility of robbery by non-US gov. thieves, also.
