"Senator Josh Hawley (R., Mo.) wrote a letter to attorney general Merrick Garland on Monday demanding answers after the FBI arrested a Catholic pro-life activist in Pennsylvania last week using 'SWAT-style tactics — while letting actual terrorist acts like firebombings go unpunished.'
Mark Houck’s wife, Ryan-Marie, told Catholic News Agency that a 'SWAT team of about 25 came to my house with about 15 vehicles and started pounding on our door' on Friday to arrest her husband after he allegedly physically assaulted a 72-year-old Planned Parenthood clinic escort in October 2021.
The Planned Parenthood clinic escort was attempting to escort two patients exiting the Philadelphia clinic when Houck allegedly 'forcefully shoved' him to the ground, according to the Justice Department. On a separate occasion, Houck allegedly verbally confronted the escort and shoved him to the ground outside the clinic. The escort sustained injuries that required medical attention.
However, Houck’s wife told LifeSiteNews that her husband spoke outside of abortion clinics every Wednesday and sometimes brought their 12-year-old son. She said that her husband shoved the clinic escort after he invaded their son’s personal space and said obscene things about her husband.
'Not only did your office turn a local dispute into a national case, but the FBI reportedly executed the search warrant in as extreme a manner as one can imagine,' Hawley wrote in his letter to Garland. 'Reports state that the FBI sent as many as 20 to 25 agents to conduct the arrest. And the FBI allegedly arrest Houck at gunpoint early in the morning in front of his seven children.'
He added: 'To say the least, using this kind of force to make an arrest for a single charge of simple assault is unprecedented.'...
Houck has been charged with violation of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act, which 'prohibits violent, threatening, damaging, and obstructive conduct intended to injure, intimidate, or interfere with the right to seek, obtain or provide reproductive health services,' according to the Department of Justice. Violating the FACE Act is federal offense.
Houck’s wife told LifeSiteNews that the Planned Parenthood escort previously tried to sue her husband but the District Court in Philadelphia dismissed the case this summer.
Hawley called the reports of Houck’s arrest 'especially shocking' given that the DOJ 'has so far turned a blind eye to the epidemic of violence across the country by pro-abortion extremists against pregnancy resource centers, houses of worship, and pro-life Americans — violent acts that are prohibited by the very same laws under which you are charging Mark Houck.'
The Missouri Republican notes that the Family Research Council has counted at least 104 incidents of extremist violence against pregnancy resource centers, churches, and pro-life Americans since the leak of the Supreme Court draft opinion on May 2, including fire-bombings and arsons.
'Despite my repeated requests, you still have not identified a single prosecution the Department of Justice has taken in response to this epidemic of violence against pro-life Americans,' Hawley wrote.
He concludes his letter by calling on Garland to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee about his 'selective use and apparent political weaponization of the FACE Act.'
Hawley also gave Garland ten days to answer three questions: 'Why were 20-25 armed FBI agents sent to Mark Houck’s home to execute an arrest for alleged simple assault,' 'why did those agents have their guns drawn,' and 'since May 3, 2022, how many charges has your department brought against pro-abortion extremists who have attacked pregnancy resource centers, churches, and pro-life Americans?'"

So-called "at-will" employment laws are supposed to allow companies to fire employees for any reason while also allowing employees to quit their jobs without giving any reason. But as a group of Wisconsin healthcare workers have discovered to their dismay, employers may prevent workers from quitting to take new jobs with better pay and benefits by suing in court and getting friendly judges to rule in their favor.

I just saw Kamla Harris in Florida speaking about Equity in relation to distribution of resources to help to rebuild in the areas hardest hit by the hurricane.
Equity as I understand it -- equity in justice, equity in healthcare, equity in distribution of emergency help, etc. -- is the same thing as totalitarian injustice and giving the most help, the "most justice", the most healthcare to those who "start out from a beginning place of deficiency or lack or being at a far-behind place, so that the OUTCOME of all people will be an outcome of equity, or the same outcome of those who did not need as much help and resources as others did based on their status at the beginning. So it is a fancy way of saying their "equity" policy justifies unequal help.
I know that is vague sounding nonsense. The idea is to convey to everyone a status of equality or treated equally based on their individual unequal situation.

The Pagan roots of Democrats’ abortion extremism

The views expressed by contributors are their own and not the view of The Hill
Arizona’s recent ruling on abortion will set women “back more than a century,” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre claimed last week. But it’s the Democrats who are trying to turn the clock back on abortion.
Democrats, including President Biden, are quickly moving toward the extreme position that a woman alone can, in consultation with her doctor, make any decision at any time on abortion. That position would set women back all the way to the first century, a brutal age that ended only when the Christian era brought new protections for infants before and after birth.
Jean-Pierre’s comments followed a ruling in Arizona that reinstated a law banning abortions except in cases when the mother’s life is in jeopardy. Arizona passed the law in 1864 and reenacted it several times, most recently in 1977. Arizona’s law includes prison sentences for those who help women get abortions. After the law was reinstated by Judge Kellie Johnson on Friday afternoon, the president of Planned Parenthood Arizona, Brittany Fonteno, responded, saying, “No archaic law should dictate our reproductive freedom.”
But Democrats’ position on abortion is the archaic one. Abortion is an archaic practice. In Pagan Rome, abortion was commonplace, performed by a variety of surgical and medicinal methods and taken for granted by philosophers. Plato, for example, laid out in Book V of the “Republic” various regulations for what offspring should be conceived and prescribed abortion for any infants conceived outside of those regulations, including by women older than 40 and men older than 55.
The ancient Pagans largely accepted infanticide as well, and the exposure of infants was common. The Greek father had an absolute right to expose his children. Exposure of infants, especially girls, was common and often linked to economic concerns about raising too many children. But even in large families “more than one daughter was practically never reared.” Termination of female infants was so common as to contribute to a dramatically skewed sex ratio, estimated at “131 males per 100 females in the city of Rome, and 140 males per 100 females in Italy, Asia Minor, and North Africa.”
This archaic willingness to dispose of infants fit into a broader callousness toward human life. As historian Tom Holland put it, the Romans had a “genius for making a show out of death” that showed up in many places, including in the cheering crowds that packed amphitheaters to watch people thrown to animals, forced to fight one another to the death and subjected to cruelly inventive forms of torture.
The standard archaic Pagan position on the value of the lives of infants is reemerging today. A leading voice has been Princeton professor Peter Singer, who holds that “killing a newborn baby is never equivalent to killing a person.” According to Singer, the normal reason to care about protecting the life of a newborn is not because of some intrinsic value in the baby itself but because “most infants are loved and cherished by their parents.”
Mainstream Democrats are not quite ready to align with Singer in fully embracing the ancient Pagan disregard for the intrinsic worth of infants. But Democrats are becoming gradually bolder in championing the notion that infants matter only when they are wanted by an adult. Perhaps that notion is captured by the slogan – “my body, my choice” – chanted by protestors in Arizona Friday night.
With Roe v. Wade overturned, Democratic politicians seem to be working out in real time how extreme a position on abortion can be politically viable. Stacey Abrams, hoping to make abortion a central issue in her Georgia gubernatorial race, previously rejected limits on abortion and advocated leaving the decision up to the mother and doctor. Now she has hedged that position by suggesting that the right to abortion ends at the point of viability except in order to protect the woman’s “life or health” — leaving open a significant question about the “scope or meaning of the health exception.”
A similar caginess can be seen in the Women’s Health and Protection Act, recently passed by the House of Representatives. Without too explicit an embrace of late-term abortions, that bill would nevertheless have made it very difficult to limit abortions up to the point of birth.
The approach to abortion codified in the recently reinstated Arizona law represents the newer position, historically speaking: to find intrinsic value in the life of the infant. Christians adopted the Jewish rejection of all forms of abortion and infanticide. That rejection of the killing of infants was as offensive to ancient Pagans as it is to many Americans today. The Roman historian and politician Tacitus called the Jewish teaching that it was “a deadly sin to kill an unwanted child” one of their “sinister and revolting” practices.
From its earliest days, the Christian church rejected abortion and infanticide based on recognition of the intrinsic value of infants, even while speculating about how body and soul intersect in the womb. The oldest extant Christian catechism, “the Didache,” written right around the end of the first century, commanded, “thou shalt not kill a child by abortion, neither shalt thou slay it when born.” And the “Epistle of Mathetes to Diognetus,” one of the earliest extant works of Christian apologetics, explained what “distinguished” Christians “from other men” by saying, “they beget children; but they do not destroy their offspring.”
The victory of the Jewish-Christian position over the Pagan was so lasting as to lead to Arizona’s 1864 law as well as the 1977 reenactment of it. The caustic responses to Judge Johnson’s Friday decision recall Tacitus’s disgust with the teaching that killing an “unwanted child” is “a deadly sin.”
Jean-Pierre’s statement on the ruling claims that its potential consequences are “catastrophic, dangerous and unacceptable.” Such strong reactions signal political will to undo centuries of moral progress.

Millions in DHS Terrorism Prevention Grants go to Promote Media Literacy, Combat Disinformation
DHS CC
The agency created after 9/11 to protect the nation from another terrorist attack is giving nonprofits, local governments, and academic institutions millions of dollars to promote media literacy and combat what the Biden administration considers to be “disinformation.” Among the recipients of the grants awarded by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is a center founded by former President Jimmy Carter to implement a “media literacy curriculum” designed to mitigate the harms presented by disinformation. In all, DHS will dole out around $7 million for its new media literacy campaign, which is part of a broader and handsomely funded initiative called Targeted Violence and Terrorism Prevention Program (TVTP) launched in 2020 to “prevent targeted violence and terrorism.”
This year DHS is doling out $20 million in grants to dozens of recipients to meet TVTP’s mission of preventing incidents of domestic violent extremism, as well as to bolster efforts to counter online radicalization and mobilization to violence. In the press release announcing the $20 million investment, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said the agency is equipping local communities and organizations, including those “historically underserved,” with needed resources to become more effective partners to strengthen security and help Americans feel safe and secure. In the announcement DHS reveals that it encouraged applicants from diverse groups and conducted extensive outreach to a variety of public and nonprofit sectors. In fact, the agency writes that among this year’s priorities is “advancing equity in awards and engaging underserved communities in prevention.”
A chunk of the TVTP money—$7 million—will be dedicated to the media literacy campaign, which will focus largely on combatting “misinformation and disinformation.” The Carter Center, which was founded by the former Democratic president, is getting $99,372 to implement its media literacy curriculum. The goal is to address the gap in media literacy education in the United States within a targeted violence and terrorism prevention context to demonstrate the effectiveness in mitigating the harms presented by disinformation, according to DHS. “This partnership would allow The Carter Center to deploy its curriculum modules over a two-year period in multiple classroom settings targeting a wide population aged 18 to 60 years old,” DHS writes in its recent announcement. “Media literacy trainings build capacities in evaluating media sources, assessing media intent, interpreting media messages, understanding how the brain processes information, understanding how online media shapes perception, recognizing false and misleading information, investigating suspicious claims, and practicing good media hygiene.”
The University of Rhode Island will receive $701,612 to combat disinformation, conspiracy theories and propaganda that have become large-scale social problems shaping the ways citizens view facts, define truth, and make decisions, according to DHS. The university will use the taxpayer dollars to create initiatives that help people critically analyze information, digital media, and popular culture to benefit all members of society by “diminishing the appeal of us-vs-them thinking that activates strong emotions and oversimplifies ideas and information.” The Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars will get $750,000 to create an “educational digital game” designed to help students understand different strategies used to spread disinformation and combat it at the institutional level. The Uran Rural Action, a group that strives for a “more inclusive democracy” across ideological and racial differences, will receive $769,190 to create a “Local Prevention Framework.”
Above is just a sample of the groups that will fill their coffers with public funds for this fictitious crisis created by the Biden administration to control information. Many more are getting six figures from the government for this nonsense. “Disinformation, conspiracy theories, and propaganda have become large-scale social problems, shaping the way citizens view facts, define truth, and make decisions,” according to the DHS grant document.

In "The First Global Revolution,"[1991] published by The Council of the Club of Rome, an international elitist organization, the authors note that:
"In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine, and the like would fit the bill. All these dangers are caused by human intervention ...The real enemy, then, is humanity itself."
For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood; but against principalities and power, against the rulers of the world of this darkness, against the spirits of wickedness in the high places.

The Biden admin has used weather warfare to assault the State of Florida, whose Governor, Ron DeSantis, has pissed off the Democrats by embarrassing them with the brilliant stunt of sending 50 migrants to Martha's Vineyard, exposing their hypocrisy and shifting attention back to migration, which is a colossal problem for any state that wants to maintain its sovereignty. And the destruction of the Nord Stream pipelines--which also appears to have been a Biden stunt (after both he and Victoria Nuland had declared prior to the event that, if Putin were to invade Ukraine, then Nord Stream would "cease" one way or another--and have now made it happen, where earth scientists are demanding the culprits be brought to justice for "war crimes" and crimes against humanity. Meanwhile, Secretary of State Blinken claims the bombing of the pipeline is a "tremendous opportunity" to wean Europe off inexpensive and easily accessible) Russian gas for LNG from the US, which is complicated to process and transfer and runs about four times as expensive. With Biden's staff contradicting his public statements with increasing frequency, some are asking, "Who is our real president?", which is a very good question. The UN is going after "conspiracy theories", which is almost always vague and general, because when you get into specific cases--such as "Did Lee Oswald (alone) kill JFK?", "Were 19 Islamic hijackers really responsible for 9/11?", or "Did we really land a man on the moon?", the evidence makes it clear that the government's "official narratives" are not only shoddy and full of holes but that they are provably false, as the other stories we discuss themselves vividly exemplify.

TRANSCRIPT
When companies are doing internal reviews and want to know what their customers think of them, their products and their services, it's typical that they conduct market surveys.
The surveys come in all kinds, shapes and forms — from focus groups to incentive emails to online surveys, and so forth.
Recently, a company sent out a survey and asked the following questions of its patrons:
Where do you live?
What have been your experiences doing business with us?
What are your hopes for our company in the future?
What are three to five words you would use to describe what you like most about the company?
What are three to five words you would use to describe the difficulties you have had with the company?
Which of the following (sense of community, feeling of acceptance, being listened to and valued, among other things) do you consider the strengths of the company and the reasons you patronize us?
As companies "dig down" into their customers' likes and dislikes (and then, broader opinions and thoughts), they often ask these types of questions. And then, whatever they are able to implement from these surveys, they do.
After all, you've got to keep the customer happy, because a happy customer is a repeat customer. Now, a little confession: The "company" that sent out the survey was a diocese asking Catholics those questions and a few others.
Go ask your local chancery if Church Militant's voice can be valued.
Gab
Tweet
This is precisely why Catholic, Inc. is failing. It sees itself in corporate terms, not spiritual. Nowhere on the survey was there even the slightest attempt to try and see if the "customers" understand what the Church is or, more exactly, who the Church is.
Every single question on that survey (and the possible choices) is reflective of a bishop and his staff who have zero comprehension of the Church as She is constituted in Herself. Consider that for more than half a century, the hierarchy has failed to teach that most salient point, the nature of the Church ("ecclesiology" is its proper name).
Then 50-plus years later, after having corrupted the minds of its customers by depriving them of the truth, a bishop shoots out a marketing survey asking them their thoughts about the Church — meaning, their feelings about it.
Do they like everyone's voice being valued? Do they like listening to one another? Do they like joint discernment and decision-making, dialoguing with society? What in hades do any of those terms even mean? They are completely stupid — just like the survey itself, the people who wrote it and the person who approved it.
This has nothing to do with eternal salvation. It's a customer survey designed to discover the likes and dislikes of the customer base and then make appropriate changes to the product according to the survey results.
In fact, given the inane questions — the wording, the choice of phrases, the vocabulary — the whole thing can be likened to Henry Ford's famous quip when marketing his Model T: "You can have it in any color you like, as long as it's black."
The survey is designed to elicit responses that have zero relationship to the truth. Who cares if someone doesn't feel everyone's voice is valued? Some voices should not be valued at all.
In fact, far from being valued, some voices should be expelled from the Church — Fr. James Martin; Cdls. Cupich, McElroy and Tobin; virtually the entire German Bishops' Conference; need we continue?
For all the bluster about "all voices being valued," go ask your local chancery if Church Militant's voice can be valued at the next diocesan men's conference.
This is all part of the smokescreen of remaking the Church — pretending to be listening to the people of God when all that's being heard is just an echo chamber of faithless prelates hearing back their theological insanity from the past half-century.
Since when did fellowship take priority over the sacraments? Since when did my voice gain greater importance than the Cross? This garbage is off the rails.
These surveys are being conducted in dioceses all over the world, with the results collated and then forwarded to Rome for inclusion in next year's agenda for the Synod on Synods — even the name is stupid.
Since when did fellowship take priority over the sacraments?
Gab
Tweet
Synods don't replace Church teaching, even if they have a billion questionnaires that prove nothing other than the gross failures of their bishops.
That will, however, be the one redeeming factor of the great big universal synod: It will produce living proof of just how much the hierarchy itself has rejected the Faith. It won't be the first time in Church history, and if mankind lives long enough, it likely will not be the last.
But we weren't alive during the Arian heresy. We also will not be alive during whatever future heresy swamps the bishops decades or centuries from now. We are alive in this one. That demands a response from us, here and now.
This is fool's gold. It's Protestant, building a religion around the emotional whims of the "people of God," collated from a series of worldwide surveys and decades of being malformed in the Faith. The Church as She is constituted in Herself is under divine protection. Individual members of the hierarchy, as well as the collective people of God the way they mean it, however, are not.
When Our Blessed Lord's visible body went into the tomb, His followers mourned, were near despair and had given up hope. Only His Mother believed — she hoped, and not just hoped but hoped supernaturally.
She alone kept the candle of faith alive. You could say, in a certain sense, that for those three days the entire Church was subsumed into her.
Our Lord's visible presence here on earth once again appears to be going into the tomb. This will call for a deep faith, a supernatural faith — a "man of steel" approach to His promise that He will not leave us orphans.
In this month of the Holy Rosary, emulate the Mother of Christ, who did not despair but sat keeping vigil, waiting to see her Divine Son again on Easter morning.
Mary Magdalene was the first public witness to the Resurrection, but it is held by innumerable Fathers and Doctors of the Church, along with multitudes of saints, that the first to behold His resurrected, glorified body was His Blessed Mother — a uniting of Himself to her in a singular way. Yes, in exchange for her deep sorrow, but also as a reward for her abiding faith and hope, motivated by her love for Him.
What son, having witnessed the agony of his own mother at his sufferings and death, would not appear to her first, to bring her agony and sadness to an end?
G.K. Chesterton made the comment once that the Church has died many times in its millennia-long existence, only to be resurrected by God again and again. Hold on to that thought, that realization, that hope, as we descend into the tomb yet again.
We will not be there forever. As Psalm 16:10 says, "you will not leave my soul among the dead, nor suffer your beloved to know decay."

Are People Basically Good or Basically Evil?
by Dr. Richard H. Bulzacchelli | Aug 27, 2018

When asked what differentiates a Catholic perspective from a Protestant perspective on the world, many people today are inclined to say that it lies in the way we see human beings. Protestants, they’ll generalize, see human beings as basically evil, while Catholics see human beings as generally good. But this characterization, wide-spread as it is, especially among Catholics today, is a gross distortion. It’s also an ancient heresy called Pelagianism, after an Irish monk who taught that human beings could do the good they ought and live lives pleasing to God without the intervention of the grace that Christ alone provides.
In fact, both Catholics and Protestants would hold to the thesis that human beings are basically good, in a certain sense, but we’d also both hold to the view that, in another sense, we’re basically bad. We should note, too, that here, we’re talking about classical Protestants like Calvinists and Lutherans of the old variety.
So, we all agree that, as creatures, we’re God’s idea, and God’s idea is always a good idea. God doesn’t create evil. He creates good. So, in that respect, we’re good. And because God made humanity for union with himself, he made humanity for a good end. At least at the level of our nature, understood in this way, we’re a good thing.
On the other hand, it’s also true that both Catholics and Protestants would hold that human beings are basically bad. When Protestants speak of a “sin nature,” Catholics often hear them saying that we sin by virtue of God’s design. If we have a “sin nature” then we sin because we’re human; to be human is to be a sinner. This is what gives people the impression that Protestants just think people are bad.
But that’s not really what they’re saying. They’re saying that by virtue of our natural birth, which comes to us in the context of fallenness—what we would call, “original sin”—we don’t grow up straight or “just”. We grow crooked and twisted. We’re all born with a diseased soul just as we’re born with a diseased body: both will eventually die but for the miraculous intervention of God, and so, we’re already, in this sense, as good as dead at birth.
Catholics believe the same thing as far as this point goes, but, in the twentieth century, certain ideas entered theological discourse that led many people down an errant path.
Jesuit theologian, Karl Rahner advocated for a hypothetical “anonymous Christian,” whom he described as a person who, though he hasn’t been effectively evangelized, values the Gospel, at least implicitly. This is a fine concept and even a theologically necessary one if one wishes to account for the implicit longing on the part of the Old Testament saints for the fulfillment of an expectation that would arrive in a form they hadn’t anticipated. They longed for a world freed from the dominion of sin and death, and the believed that God would bring that world about. As St. Paul describes Judaism before the Incarnation event, they “put their hopes in Christ before he came” (cf. Ephesians 1:12).
The idea of the “anonymous Christian,” though, goes a little further than this. What about those people, if they exist, who would believe in Christ if only the gospel were presented to them in terms they were able to hear and understand? Even in the most demonic religions, there’s some glimmer of truth, which, if identified, could be placed within its true context and be exploited for the gospel. When we ask about the “anonymous Christian,” we’re asking about the guy who would embrace the Faith if it were presented that way—who, at the time he’s approached by the missionary, is already longing for something, he knows not what, to be true so that the world would be a place of hope and love rather than despair and discord.
Whether the idea of the “anonymous Christian” is a good or a bad hypothesis isn’t the point here. But I mention it because it’s led to distortions about what the Church teaches about the human person. As the “anonymous Christian” hypothesis took hold, it led to a quieting of the sense of urgency previously felt over the question of missionization and evangelization. If people could be saved already, even before they gain any explicit awareness of the gospel, much less before being received into the Church, why is missionary activity important? Real missionary activity, perhaps, is about bringing food and medicine to the less fortunate, a task well-meaning atheists are more than welcome to do alongside us.
As we said before, at root here is Pelagianism, erroneous though it is, and contrary to the constant teaching and tradition of the Church—the view that human beings are already, by nature, as good as they need to be, and able to live lives pleasing to God, even without the intervention of the grace that comes from Christ. Unfortunately, when people say that Catholics see people as basically good, that’s what they really mean.
But, in fact, the Catholic view about the human person is quite balanced. Once again, human beings are, indeed, good by nature, as creations of God. We’re made for a good purpose and our original design was fitting to it. But through the initial introduction of sin, our nature was wounded and perverted so we enter the world with disordered inclinations. We’re not born knowing and loving God as we ought, and we’re disproportionately concerned with our own power, pleasure, and wealth. Moreover, we find it much easier to sin than to do good, and while we have no virtues at all at the time of our birth, we’re born already with innate vices that’ll shape our moral profile for as long as we live. What I’ve described here, in laymen’s terms, is, in this order: 1) original sin, 2) disordered concupiscence, 3) the fomes, and 4) the capital sins.
In other words, while in one sense, human beings are basically good, it’s also just as true, but in a different sense, that human beings are basically and profoundly bad. It’s foolish to pretend this isn’t so. Naïve philanthropy is a notorious precursor to avoidable victimization. It’s also wise for us to remain aware of our own faults and to guard against them. And it’s dangerous to the souls of those we think we’re loving by leaving them as they are—without the gospel and the freedom it brings, to do the good we ought and to live and to love in conformity to Jesus Christ

Who missed the 4th Nordstream Pipeline?
Jeffrey Sachs tells another outrageous truth
Meryl Nass
It’s one week later. The natural gas has all bubbled to the surface. Yet the pipeline owners have not been allowed to inspect the damage.
MOSCOW, Oct 4 (Reuters) - The operators of two Baltic Sea gas pipelines that linked Russia and Germany until they both sprang major leaks last week said they were unable to inspect the damaged sections because of restrictions imposed by Danish and Swedish authorities.
and it seems the sabotage missed one of the 4 pipes in the Nordstream network. This could be the biggest clue of who did it: two of the munitions hit the same pipe, and missed the 4th one. (Add a joke about how the Poles and the Yanks can’t do anything right.)
Kremlin-controlled Gazprom (GAZP.MM) has said flows could resume at the last remaining intact pipeline in the Nord Stream 2 network, a suggestion likely to be rebuffed given Europe blocked Nord Stream 2 days before Moscow sent its troops into Ukraine on Feb. 24.
From the Guardian quoting Der Spiegel is confirmation that each of the 4 blasts resulted from the equivalent of 500 kg TNT, which could have been placed there directly or been shot from a military aircraft.
Intelligence sources quoted in the news magazine Spiegel believe the pipelines were hit in four places by explosions using 500kg of TNT, the equivalent to the explosive power of a heavy aircraft bomb.
This is a really interesting post from MonkeyWerxUS.com about the sabotage events: details on the planes and a theory that the P8 Navy plane could have dropped the munitions.
I had to laugh out loud at how so many MSM blame Russia directly or with sideways smears for blowing up its own pipeline.
And the corollary is that then Russia gets blamed for for the presumed serious climate impact, too. You can’t make this stuff up. From the same Guardian article:
The methane clouds are being monitored closely. The ICOS, which is analysing the air quality, has shown footage of a huge gas cloud hovering above the Baltic Sea and moving across Europe.
Methane measuring stations in Sweden, Norway and Finland had indicated sharp rises in methane in recent days. Observation satellites are believed to have failed to record the emissions due to cloudy weather, the ICOS said.
It said the emissions were equivalent to an entire year’s methane output for a city “the size of Paris or a country like Denmark”.
“This is really bad, most likely the largest emission event ever detected,” Manfredi Caltagirone, acting head of UNEP’s International Methane Emissions Observator told Reuters.
While I heard hypotheses that the pipelines were destroyed forever by salt water, Scientific American says that is not at all correct, and later in the article describes some methods of repair.
Last week, three different sites along the underwater Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines ruptured and began leaking gas. The circumstances at Nord Stream may be unusual, but subsea pipeline damage is almost an everyday occurrence. Corrosion from salt water can cause leaks, and again and again, accidents occur as a result of commercial shipping. Nord Stream’s pipes also lie under some of the world’s busiest shipping routes. That’s why pipelines have sophisticated protection measures and repair techniques; plans for dealing with leaks and accidents are formulated as soon as the pipelines are built. Engineers will follow a set playbook to begin repairing the damaged sections of Nord Stream as soon as possible.
I warned you that Jeffrey Sachs was burnishing his reputation as a so-called whistleblower (telling us what everyone with a brain already knew, but doing so on network TV) when he said, very deliberately, that SARS-CoV-2 was developed with US-derived technology. He did not say the US created the virus. He did not say it was deliberately spread. He basically said nothing, but because Jeffrey Sachs had said it, people swooned.
So now he has repeated the trick with the pipeline explosions.
Jeffrey Sachs, a world-renowned American professor of economics, believes the opposite. Yesterday, during a TV appearance on Bloomberg, the professor raised the possibility that the Nord Stream pipeline, which brings Russian gas to Europe, was sabotaged by the US, leading television hosts to take him off air.
“There is considerable circumstantial evidence that the destruction of Nord Stream is a US operation, perhaps with other NATO countries,” Sachs, a Columbia University professor, where he also leads Center for Sustainable Development, tells TRT World.
“While nothing is certain, the evidence at this stage points towards the US as the most likely cause of the events,” he adds. Sachs’ comments came when he said that the Western narrative of ‘an unprovoked attack’ by Moscow on Kiev is a flawed argument. “The US attempt to push NATO into Ukraine and Georgia was a key reason for this war,” Sachs says.
Again, he has told us what everyone already knew, but because it was Sachs and it was network TV, there was shock and awe.
Watch for his next trick—OOPS, I already saw it. The Lancet COVID Commission. In which Sachs asks us to turn over $60 Billion/year to WHO to assist in its world takeover. That is why he is gilding his lily. He has a big sales job up ahead.

The Corruption of Private Enterprise in the Pandemic Era

The privatization of government control is taking place in the United States. The trend is disturbing and leaves little legal remedy for our Constitutional rights and liberties of privacy, freedom of speech and association as well as the right to bear arms. While the Constitution is designed to prevent the usurpation of these rights by the government, there is little that limits the power of the corporations and institutions, which are making decisions about when and how we exercise our rights.
The privatization of democracy seems like an oxymoron. How can a capitalist free market system built on the idea of free enterprise and human innovation lead to an undemocratic system? The ideological justifications are many and increasing. National security was the first justification that allowed data sharing between the government and private corporations.
In a lawsuit in 2002, AT&T v. Hepting, a whistleblower revealed that the telecommunication provider was funneling our information to the NSA, skirting the Fourth Amendment protections that we possess against the government. At the time, the civil rights community expressed outrage and railed at the Bush Administration for such a transgression of our protected rights.
The ACLU and the Electronic Frontier Foundation and others decried the collusion between the government and the private sector in the abridgement of our constitutional rights even if it were in the name of national security. Those days are seemingly long gone.
Now private corporations and institutions argue they are limiting our freedoms to protect us from a range of things. Hate. Extremism. Misinformation. Disinformation. Today, a slow leak of revelations illustrate how the private sector is increasingly in control of whether or not we are able to protect our privacy against surveillance and data mining, exercise our rights of free speech and association or buy guns. Shockingly, many of us are applauding this usurpation of our rights and liberties in the name of democracy.
Our First Amendment rights in the hands of the private sector have led to a narrowing of the topics that may be debated. Social media platforms censor topics that range from Covid vaccines to election fraud to the Hunter Biden laptop story in the name of democracy.
And there is increasing evidence that the government is playing along and even pulling the strings. It turns out there was regular communication between agencies – the CDC, FBI and the White House – about whom and what to censor.
The abridgement of the right to free speech by social media platforms at the behest of the government is problematic enough but there is the more troubling fact that a free market system in a democracy is enabling private corporations and institutions to undermine the very rights that are essential to it. Free speech is not the only victim.
Our associational rights are also on the chopping block as an increasing number of organizations, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) and many more zero in on groups that have been defined as “extremists” within an ever expanding definition of the term and data collection similarly broad and meaningless.
The ADL has now taken to demonizing particular groups like the Oath Keepers with a report that is efficiently coordinated with a map of all of those individuals who are associated with the group. The Oath Keepers might not be anyone’s favorite group, but let’s not forget a foundational case for protecting free speech rights.
When the membership list of the NAACP was similarly targeted by the government, the Supreme Court unanimously ruled in NAACP v. Alabama, 357 U.S. 449 (1958) that the First Amendment protected the free association rights of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and its rank-and-file members.
There is no such protection against the ADL’s attack on the Oath Keepers but it does not follow that there aren’t effects on the freedom of association of those members and the chilling effect that it will have for those who choose to associate with similar groups.
It might be difficult to generate sympathy for the Oath Keepers, given that some of the members have been associated with the protest of January 6, but the point of our First Amendment freedoms is not to choose favorites as the ADL is currently doing. This was the point of the ACLU’s defense of the KKK in the landmark case of Brandenburg v. Ohio in 1969.
In this case, the Supreme Court walked away from the decades of persecutions of groups that were not the politically favored – communists, civil rights groups, labor unions and Vietnam War protestors, to protect the most vile of speech that was represented by the KKK.
Free speech and association are not the only Constitutional rights under fire. Private corporations are also jumping on the bandwagon of gun control. Visa, Mastercard and American Express have recently announced that they will track gun purchases separately.
Advocates hailed the development as a critical step toward undermining the flow of guns into the hands of violent people. Yet, there is no mention of how this monitoring affects the Second Amendment Rights that we have because there is no need to answer this question when private industry is doing the work.
Couple the ever expanding definition of “extremist” that the Biden Administration is using with the identification of those who are in “extremist” organizations by the ADL and SPLC and monitoring of gun purchases by VISA, Mastercard and American Express and you have the perfect storm of surveillance, chilling of First Amendment freedoms and curtailment of Second Amendment rights without any Constitutional protections whatsoever.
All of the above does not begin to scratch the surface of how institutions are doing the work of government without any accountability or transparency. Whether it is the imposition of COVID vaccination requirements, Diversity, Inclusion and Equity mandates, or speech codes in academia or corporations, the Constitutional oversight that serves the complex interests of democracy are absent. There is no way to work against these powerful forces that are aligned with the interests and ideology of the current administration.
And this inability to challenge these encroachments on the rights and liberties fundamental to a democratic society is not insignificant. Speak out on social media and the platform is ready and willing to report you to the government and deplatform you. Join an organization that falls out of favor with the ADL of the SPLC and you might find yourself identified as an extremist. Purchase a gun and the credit card companies are willing to report you to law enforcement if you happen to be “dangerous.”
Many political philosophers have warned, the ideology of capitalism is not all about freedom. Those like Herbert Marcuse in One Dimensional Man or Adorno and Horkhiemer in Dialectics of the Enlightenment, for example, provided a cultural, societal and political critique of the ideological constraints that resulted in “unfreedom” for individuals within a capitalist system despite the promise of freedom.
The assertion of power in early critiques of industrial societies advanced the idea that the maintenance and security of the authority only succeeds when it is able to mobilize, organize and exploit the technical, scientific, and mechanical productivity. Ideology served the function of mobilization and justifications for the authority.
There is a totalitarian quality to this control because of the manipulation of needs by the vested interests that include government but also media, education, and the corporate interests more generally. While there exists pluralism and even rights and liberties in a capitalist system, Marcuse and others argued that the effectiveness of each of these countervailing freedoms is diminished by the ideological constraints put upon their exercise.
Thus we are told that the ADL is identifying the extremists for us. That social media platforms are protecting us from disinformation and misinformation and preventing those nasty extremists from reaching us. And the credit card companies are only monitoring our gun purchases because those who are deemed dangerous should not be able to exercise rights. But these designations are ideological and by that it does not mean left or right.
The ideology of capitalism is defined by those who have a stake in the power they exercise. Academia. Corporations. Media. Government. The ideological accusations of extreme, dangerous, disinformation and more are the ways in which we are persuaded that freedom is being protected by these major players in economic life against all that could undermine it.
The truth is that with each decision made, government’s outsourcing its control ambitions – the privatization of democracy – is taking away that which is essential to it.

As we reflect on the impact of our global outreach over the past 60 years, I’m excited to bring you news of a research breakthrough from St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Scientists at St. Jude helped lead the nation’s largest comprehensive analysis of genomes related to pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), the most common form of childhood cancer.
With samples from nearly 2,800 patients, St. Jude researchers worked with hospitals around the country to find further evidence of mutations that show ALL is not one disease affecting every child the same way, but rather a collection of more than 20 subtypes.
Some subtypes progress differently in children, posing different risks and requiring unique combinations of medicines and individualized therapy.
When St. Jude opened in 1962, the survival rate for ALL was just 4%. Today, thanks to your support, the survival rate at St. Jude is 94%.
But that’s still not good enough and with your continued support, we know we will one day realize the dream of our founder, Danny Thomas, of a day when every child can be saved.
With the announcement of this research, and with new breakthroughs and better treatments on the horizon, St. Jude is furthering its mission: Finding cures. Saving children.®

Biden’s Policies Cause Surge in Unaccompanied Minors and Greater Chance of Child Trafficking – And Not ONE DEMOCRAT Has Said a Thing about It
In October 2020 the number of minors crossing into the US unaccompanied was 1,929.
Less than two years later in April 2021 there were 20,339 unaccompanied minors crossing into the US.
That’s over a 1,000% increase from when President Trump was in charge.
The problem is only getting worse.
In August 2021, border patrol agents picked up a record 834 unaccompanied children who had crossed into the country in one day. The shocking number is the most the agency had ever encountered in a single day throughout its 97-year history.
It’s by design.
The massive 62% one-day jump in kids comes just days after Biden lowered the standards for selecting an adult sponsor for the children. Among other things, sponsors no longer have to get fingerprinted to claim a child from border patrol custody.
The careless change was made in an effort to get more children processed and released to make room for the countless more that will be coming.
The scariest thing of it all – these unprecedented numbers don’t even include the countless invaders that slip through undetected.

The Left’s War on Food, Fuel, Healthcare, Education & Social Order
by Patricia Anthone | Oct 8, 2022 | Education, Global, Politics
The Left’s central-control agenda opposes the values of Western Civilization but cannot destroy them. The now obvious agenda of the modern political Left is to amass complete Central Control ⏤ of the economy, food, fuel, healthcare, education, and social order ⏤ by an all-powerful, global governing body comprised of self-seated elites.
This agenda requires opposition to the formation of families because family is the single biggest competition for party engagement and loyalty. People who have committed themselves to marriage and family are “centered” there. And that is a huge problem for those who believe the purpose of the citizenry is to feed, supply and support their government.
Once this is clearly understood, the policies and ideologies propagated by the Left over the past decades are easier to comprehend.
Leftists’ policies aren’t failures.
The “war on poverty,” the social-worker approach to crime, promotion of recreational sex, intoxicants, etc., all have achieved stunning success. And all the while, the Leftists have been able to position themselves and their Party as the ones espousing “liberal,” “compassionate,” and “open-minded” ideas.
Consider that the Socio-Sexual Free-For-All banner under which Leftists have disguised themselves as “liberals” has succeeded in significantly increasing the number of people suffering from both interpersonal and economic dereliction. The result has been a precipitous decline throughout the West.
The symptoms of this decline are now apparent, even if not correctly diagnosed:
Exponential increase in numbers of “homeless” (chronically intoxicated and mentally-ill vagrants)
Explosion in the numbers claiming membership in one or more “oppressed” identity group (s)
Sexual/gender confusion, ambiguity, or conflict
Greatly-delayed marriage and family formation
Failure to ascend the economic ladder (remaining ‘stuck’ in low/no skill jobs)
Precipitous drop in birthrate
Declining longevity
Each of these symptoms benefits the Left in the short and long term.
Short-term ⏤ human misery (of all kinds) converts readily into political capital.
Long-term ⏤ contributes to the social and economic collapse required to usher in a global governing body.
How, specifically, did they achieve all of their successes?
Aggressive Secularization – attack and replace the Judeo-Christian worldview on which Western Civilization is based. We ceded critical ground by permitting a “default” to the “secular viewpoint” in schools, board rooms, clubs, associations, and even in some churches. Everything that follows denial of our Creator is, by definition, a lie: key among which are the following ‘doctrines’ of the Left’s secular religion:
Humanity is an overgrown animal species; a scourge on the Earth that only containment by forcible exercise of central authority can prevent from destroying the planet. Generate contempt for humanity.
As animals, people cannot be expected to control or channel their feelings and urges. Further, the unfiltered reaction is a virtue called “authenticity.”
Parents, family, and religious institutions are backward and repressive; distrust all who aren’t ideologically aligned with the Left.
Even our own bodies might be ‘wrong’ for us; a situation which finds “solution” in “trans-identity,” a claim to political oppression that carries the promise of favor by the Party.
Rewarding mediocrity while deriding excellence. Among the claims made by proponents of the Marxist Critical Race theory is that accuracy in the mathematical calculation is an expression of “white supremacy.”
Erosion of the objective reference points required for critical thinking. If all that came before is wrong, if even our own experience can no longer be trusted, then the Party becomes the sole purveyor of truth, a role it assumes via fascist projection throughout society.
Promotion of chronic intoxication. In addition to “legalizing” more intoxicants, Leftist governments are creating ever-more elaborate programs to support chronic intoxication, making it entirely unnecessary for an addict to get clean.
Free needles,
“Safe shooting” sites equipped with needles and staffed with med-techs to administer reversal drugs to an addict who overdoses,
Provision of “camping” gear to addicts who eschew the shelters (need to use during the night).
Refusal to prosecute crime. Refusal to prosecute shoplifting, for example (up to a certain amount per shoplifter), has spawned crime rings that denude shelves within minutes ⏤ all without consequence to the criminal participant. The consequence for many city-center residents is a barbaric reality in which goods cannot be sold.
Ideological alignment with the Left has become the overt goal of nearly all in “public” education, mainstream news-media, information tech, social media, entertainment, and medicine.
The strategies deployed by the Left have made life hellish for many and brought our society dangerously close to collapse. But they haven’t “worked” with all.
America has a rock-solid core of people who are seemingly impervious to the Left’s effort to turn the citizenry into government-owned livestock. And in noting this, we are shown a path to the restoration of sanity. It is on the strength and character of these resilient people that hope for society rests. So, who are they?
Those emerging from intact, functional families raised to revere God is stronger and more resilient than the shallow-rooted offspring of fully-secular households. People who value God and family are more likely to marry, start families, engage in satisfactory careers, and regard themselves as happy. The Judeo-Christian values on which our society was built are durable and can be trusted.
Sometimes the solution is simple, even if it’s not easy.

Massachusetts Voters Face an Epic “Election of the Century”
October 8, 2022
Current Events, Politics
I’m sure some subscribers wonder why I haven’t written any posts or been on any podcasts lately. It’s because I’ve been working flat out on a new book. It’s now at the typesetter and should be out in November.
But something else is coming up in November. Normally I don’t get excited about Massachusetts gubernatorial elections. We’ve had our share of “RINO Republican” governors like William Weld and Mitt Romney.
But I didn’t realize how different this year was until a friend sent me this video of WCVB interviewing Leah Cole Allen, who is the Republican candidate for Lt. Governor on the ticket with Geoff Diehl:
Some of you know I was a registered nurse in Massachusetts for 45 years. Allen, like me, is an RN. The difference is, I retired voluntarily in 2019 just before COVID hit; Allen was fired as an RN for refusing the vax, even though she had been a front-line nurse on a COVID ward.
The WCVB interview was conducted outdoors, because the station wouldn’t let anyone in who wasn’t COVID-vaxxed.
Allen is also a former state legislator, so she knows the political process. When pressed by the somewhat hostile reporters, she also affirmed that she is pro-life and pro-Second Amendment. She is well-spoken.
I had the pleasure of meeting Leah on October 6 at a VFW rally event. Like me, from the lockdown’s beginning she opposed the quarantining of perfectly healthy, asymptomatic people, and understood that you do NOT force experimental vaccines (a misnomer for mRNA gene therapy) on people, a violation of human rights under the Nuremburg Code.
Like her running mate, Allen is totally opposed to lockdowns. Geoff Diehl has stated that, if elected, he will immediately restore the jobs of all state workers who lost them for refusing the jab. He is a former four-term state legislator. Here is a WCVB interview with Diehl:
To my surprise (or maybe not), more than a week after Diehl and Allen won the Republican primary, I typed in on Google:
Diehl Allen campaign website
Their website did not even show up; just a bunch of newspaper articles. I had to go to Geoff Diehl’s Twitter feed to find the actual link. Good old Google.
Well, that search-engine lapse has finally been corrected. The campaign’s website is https://diehlallen.com/
Of course, I’m not a big fan of politicians, and I don’t have much confidence in the integrity of the vote-counting systems.
But look at who Diehl and Allen are running against: Maura “Hold It” Healey. Healey, a lesbian, has said that if people aren’t comfortable going into a bathroom that a transsexual has walked into, they should “hold it” (hold their pee). In other words, trans people’s rights exceed everyone else’s. She is extremely pro-gun control, and here’s an article from last year on her “doubling down” on COVID vaccines.
I’m sure many of my readers are familiar with Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, also known as the “Lockdown Queen” and “Wicked Witch of the West.” Well, Maura Healey would probably make Whitmer look like Snow White.
What would Massachusetts’ future be like under Maura Healey? The future is uncertain, and I can only speculate, but possibly we might see . . .
When flu season returns in the winter, it might only take one scary headline about a “new COVID variant” to throw Massachusetts back into full lockdown mode: small businesses shut down; workers informed by the governor who is “essential” and “not essential”; school children forced to mask up all day while isolated from each other by plexiglass (except maybe during “Drag Queen Story Hour”); people forced to stand six feet apart, even though former CDC Director Robert Redfield has now admitted that the 6-foot social distancing rule was arbitrary with no science behind it.
One of the scariest moments for Boston came less than a year ago, when mayor Michelle Wu announced that no one would be permitted into a Boston restaurant, gym, or major public venue, without proof of vaccination, despite powerful evidence that COVID vaccines don’t prevent transmission and have had countless severe side effects (see., e.g., my last post on COVID from 2021).
Fortunately, the Boston restriction was later lifted. But what happens if Maura Healey becomes governor? If there was a COVID resurgence, would she broaden Michelle Wu’s Boston ban and mandate vaccine passports for the entire state?
To give you an idea of just how left-wing Massachusetts has become, this year the state legislature passed a new law allowing illegal immigrants to obtain driver’s licenses. (Massachusetts voters will have an opportunity to overturn that law in an election-day referendum.) But given Healey’s soft stand on immigration, and her hard stand on gun control, one can anticipate sharply rising crime rates under a Healey governorship.
I do have a minor complaint about the Diehl-Allen campaign, however. Slogans may seem silly, but they’ve helped win elections, be it “He Has Kept Us Out of War,” “America First,” “I Like Ike,” or “Make America Great Again.” When you go to the Diehl website product page, one sees yard signs, bumper stickers, hats and coffee mugs. They all say the same thing: “Diehl for Governor.” I wonder how many long nights it took a brain trust, with rolled-up sleeves, laboring over coffee as they chain-smoked, to dream up that zinger? (Just kidding.)
But how many votes is that slogan going to draw away from Healey? Perhaps a handful. Since Healey has signs that say “Healey for Governor,” it’s a tradeoff at best. A “Diehl for Governor” coffee mug might make a good souvenir to bring to the concentration camp.
Now, what is it that virtually all Massachusetts voters HATED? They hated the lockdowns. They hated losing their jobs and seeing their business damaged or even destroyed. They hated standing outside grocery stores, in the freezing cold, six feet apart, to buy food. I can remember standing outside Target for one hour, while the customers boiled over with rage. It didn’t matter if they were Republican, Democrat or Independent. And they haven’t forgotten!
So how can Diehl and Allen take tens of thousands of votes away from Healey? Very simple. Just add three words to the current slogan:
NO MORE LOCKDOWNS!
DIEHL FOR GOVERNOR
I have not found any state regulation regarding bumper stickers or yard signs that would prevent this from being printed. And it’s a message which, if seen on bumper stickers moving throughout the state, would resonate with voters. It would hit the emotional buttons. No one wants to be locked down again. And Healey is defenseless against it; it’s perhaps her most vulnerable point, because as attorney general, she was a major lockdown enforcer.
I am not a rich man, but I did offer the Diehl campaign $2,000 if they would print bumper stickers to that effect. I have not heard back to date. Maybe it’s too late, maybe “everything’s already printed,” maybe they need more money, or maybe they just disagree. To be very sure, that’s their privilege.
By the way, when you go to the Diehl-Allen website homepage, it’s not much more creative. The opening slogan is “A Better Massachusetts Every Day.” Maura Healey might be having a chuckle over that: “Lots of laughs! I’m for a better Massachusetts too!” Now to be very fair, if you explore the Diehl-Allen website, it does lay out many excellent policies. But will everyone take time to read them? I would slam people with “NO MORE LOCKDOWNS!” right on the home page.
Diehl and Allen are doing a great job of traveling the state and talking up their message. But the liberal corporate media is not helping them. Massachusetts is heavily Democratic. Winning here will not be easy. They need to BRAND themselves as the “no-lockdown” candidates. And I‘m talking about honest branding.
If you have friends in Massachusetts, let them know: vote for Diehl and Allen. It could mean the difference between 4 years of lockdown misery versus 4 years of relative freedom. I say “relative freedom” because we still have the Biden administration to contend with.
One last campaign suggestion: Tucker Carlson, probably the foremost conservative on mainstream media, LOVES people like Diehl and Allen. He would chomp at the bit at a chance to turn uber-liberal Massachusetts from blue to red. Sure, his audience is national, but he has many Massachusetts viewers, other viewers with friends in Massachusetts, and would probably bring in a ton of donations from out of state—because a win in Massachusetts would mark a major turning point for America. I pray this suggestion—an interview of Diehl and Allen—might reach Tucker’s attention.

"For me You have created the skies scattered with stars...and all the beautiful things on earth."
St. Maximilian Kolbe
Dear Friends of the Kolbe Center,
Glory to Jesus Christ!
In previous newsletters, we have recalled that when a small number of (humanly speaking) defenseless Christians transformed a pagan world into a Catholic Christian civilization, three characteristics of those early Christians primarily effected the transformation: 1) their supernatural Faith; 2) their supernatural Charity; and 3) the Miracles worked by the members of the Mystical Body of Christ which confirmed the supernatural origin of their Faith. In the life of St. Benedict, for example, we read of the fearsome barbarian warlord Totila who was brought to his knees by a miracle of St. Benedict. According to one account:
In autumn of 542 AD, while the Goth King Totila was passing through Cassino en route to Naples to attack it, he decided to test Saint Benedict because he had already heard of his gifts and charisms. As a consequence, Totila sent his squire dressed as a king to greet the monk; but Saint Benedict soon unmasked him. When he finally met Totila, he warned him with a dire prediction: “You have hurt many and you continue to do it, now stop behaving badly! You will enter Rome, you will cross the vast sea, you will reign for nine years; however, in the tenth year, you will die.” And that is exactly what happened.
Totila before St. Benedict
What was true of the evangelization of the pagan Roman Empire has continued to be true of later successful works of evangelization. St. Francis Xavier converted huge numbers of pagans to the Catholic Faith in India, and there is no doubt that his miracles played an important part in his success. Many resurrection miracles have been recorded in the canonization processes of the saints during the last eight hundred years, but few saints have been credited with raising as many souls from the dead as St. Francis Xavier, as described in this account:
St. Francis Xavier (1506-1552)
In the streets of Mutan, Francis met a funeral procession bearing the body of a youth who had died of a malignant fever. According to the custom of that area, the body had been kept for 24 hours wrapped in a shroud. Like Jesus with the widow of Naim, Francis pitied the bereaved parents; they pleaded with him.
The saint knelt down, raised his eyes to Heaven, and prayed to God for the lad's life. Then he sprinkled the covered corpse with holy water and ordered the funeral shroud cut open. When the body was visible, Francis made the Sign of the Cross over it, took the youth by the hand, and bade him in the Name of Jesus to live.
The youth rose up alive, and Francis gave him to his parents in good health. The crowd marveled and praised the holiness of Francis. The youth's parents and friends, in gratitude and memory of the deed, erected a great cross on the spot and held a festival there.
At another time, St. Francis was preaching at Coulon, near Cape Comorin in Travancore at the southern tip of India opposite Ceylon (Sri Lanka). This was a seaport, a rough town where many Christians dishonored their name. Francis, while preaching in the Portuguese church there, felt baffled and stymied by the wall of obstinacy he met in his hardhearted listeners.
Now it happened that a man had been buried in the church the day before. St. Francis stopped preaching; he prayed to God to honor the Blood and the Name of His Son and to soften the hearts of the congregation. Then he directed a few men to open the nearby grave of the man who had been buried the day before. He had prayed in tears, and now he accompanied his directions with the burning words of holy eloquence. He told the congregation how God was pleased even to raise the dead in order to convert them.
When they opened the tomb and brought out the body, it was already giving off a stench. On Francis' orders they tore apart the shroud-to find the body already beginning to putrefy. Francis expressed his desire that they should all take note of these facts. (They could hardly escape them!) Then the saint fell on his knees, made a short prayer, and commanded the dead man, in the Name of the Living God, to arise.
The man arose-alive, vigorous and in perfect health! The onlookers were filled with awe. Those who needed it fell at the saint's feet to be baptized, and a large number of people were converted because of this miracle.
The two miracles above were accepted by the auditors of the Rota as resting on incontrovertible evidence from two witnesses, Emanuel Gaga and Joam Audicondam, as well as from one "dead" person himself. These great miracles led almost the entire kingdom--except for the king and a few of his courtiers--to become Christians within a few months.
St. Francis Xavier (1506-1552)
We Will See an Abundance of Miracles
I will return to this theme again and again, because I am convinced that as the Catholic Faith is once again proclaimed far and wide on the foundation of the true doctrine of creation, we will see an abundance of miracles as confirmation of Our Lord’s delight in our willingness to proclaim the Catholic Faith, whole and entire. I have been confirmed in this conviction by the testimony of my friend Lani Randall who is a firm believer in the true Catholic doctrine of creation and whom I introduced to our readers in a previous newsletter. In this newsletter I would like to acquaint you with the wonderful work that Lani is doing to help our persecuted Catholic brothers and sisters in Pakistan—where “the Lord hears the cry of the poor” and miracles occur on a regular basis. Lani describes the birth of her apostolate in this way:
Over a year ago, the Lord has connected me to two beautiful Pakistani Catholics who've worked together for over 12 years to help their persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ. One is a young lady named Kanwal Lazrus, who started an orphanage back in 2011 because Our Lord Jesus Christ told her to do so, and she was obedient. Unfortunately, she lives in Canada now as she was caught evangelizing and was persecuted by Muslim men who almost killed her. Her parents sent her to Canada to stay with relatives and she is still living there after having moved over five years ago. She longs to see her parents again but does not feel safe enough to go back just yet. Her brothers and parents help run the orphanage that she started and she sends money when she can to help support them.
She introduced me to her friend and mentor, Atif Jamil Pagaan, who is a Catholic human rights attorney. Atif and his wife, Fahkra, have three children and are parishioners of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, located in Waris Pura Faisalabad, in the Punjab region of Pakistan. Holy Rosary is located in the Diocese of Faisalabad under Bishop Inderyas Rehmat. Atif has a unique story to share. He grew up very poor and when his father passed away, Atif was desperate to continue his education instead of go to work as a child laborer. Young Atif, only eight years old at the time, decided he would ask the priest of his local parish for help. Atif chose to knock on the priest's door every day until he'd answer him, and finally, the priest opened his door to Atif on the 15th day. That day changed his life as the parish priest took him under his wing and agreed to educate him...and feed him burgers from time to time, per Atif's request!
Years later, Atif graduated law school as a human rights attorney for his people, who are heavily persecuted for their Catholic faith. The police and judicial system in Pakistan is traditionally corrupt as it's a Muslim government, and unfortunately, their government encourages persecution of Christians (mostly Catholic), who make up roughly 2% of the population and who are treated as second class citizens. Their laws towards Christians are unjust, especially their blasphemy law which was created to falsely accuse Christians of disrespecting their prophet Muhammed without question. Many Muslims have been known to accuse their Christian neighbors or co-workers of blasphemy for no good reason other than to retaliate against them and to kick them out of their neighborhoods and places of employment. This has caused much persecution as the families of these falsely accused victims must leave their homes and go into hiding to save their lives. This costs money, too, which inflicts severe hardship, as many of them are very poor.
Mariam’s House
Atif and his lovely wife Fahkra, who is a very devoted Catholic wife and mother, have three children. Atif and Fahkra started Mariam's House as a shelter home to raise up families who've been negatively impacted by persecution. Mariam's House provides shelter, food, and skills training to help families escape generational poverty -- especially those who work as slave laborers in brick kilns. There are families --women and children especially-- who are exposed to unhealthy and harsh working conditions in the brick kilns, and sadly, some are raped in the process, and many times they are deprived of medical needs.
Mariam's House has also been a home to rescued Catholic/Christian girls who are abducted by older Muslim men who have sold them into slavery or forced them into marriages where they are raped and tortured. The countless number of young girls who fall victim to these older men are between the ages of 13 and 17. Atif spends the majority of his time working on such cases to file police reports and find these girls, only to rescue and restore them to the courts that sometimes return the girls to their families, and sometimes don't as they claim that some of the girls are now officially Muslims and belong to their husbands (some are too afraid to speak up in court). Atif has been very good at recovering many of these girls and convincing the court to return them to their families. Many end up in Mariam's House for extra help and support, but more trauma counseling is needed. I've been doing a lot of healing prayer over video chats with Atif translating when necessary and by the grace of God, we've seen much physical and emotional healing take place.
In addition, many of these young girls are from very poor families as the majority of the Christian community are very poor. Atif will donate his services and work pro bono in many cases because he wants to help free these young girls. His life is threatened almost daily as he's had to move his family more than three times in the past few years to escape death threats and make sure his wife and children are safe. It's a very difficult and emotionally taxiing position to be in, but his faith is SO strong as he witnesses countless miracles!
Right now, Mariam's House receives donations from a non-profit organization called All People Free. The founder lives in the U.S. and while he is not Catholic, he was called by God to help Atif and Fahkra. He is very faithful in his monthly donations for food and resources. However, the funds are limited and Atif and Fahkra also have a vision to expand what they're doing to include a Peace Center (a peaceful place for tortured victims of religious persecution). The Catholic diocese in his area does contribute financially to help aid Atif in his cases when necessary, but again, these funds are very limited.
I do what I can to donate as much as possible, and have been fundraising locally with people I know, but I believe God is calling me to officially start a ministry and have a separate account for funding this work. This work is SO important to the Lord, and to Our Blessed Mother Mary, as they want their Pakistani children free from all slavery! My goal is to put together a presentation to start visiting Catholic Churches to raise awareness so together, we can help show our love and support to our Catholic brothers and sisters!
Two Catholic Nurses in Pakistan, Falsely Accused of Blaspheming the Koran
“The Lord Hears the Cry of the Poor”
I want to share a testimony about two beautiful Catholic nurses who were falsely accused of blasphemy. We had a miracle happen when they were first arrested, and Atif called me for prayer. I prayed with him over the phone and as I prayed, he told me God gave him a vision during the prayer, that the law of the lower court would be changed within two months. Usually, cases like these would take years to resolve, but in two months a trial was started—and that was a miracle!
There was another instance where a 13-yr old girl was abducted and forcibly married to a 43-yr-old Muslim man who forced her to convert to Islam. Police did not register the complaint by the parents, so the girl's mother came to Harmony Foundation to get some help, and Atif got involved and was able to register the complaint with police. They raided the man's house and recovered the young girl, and after medical examination, she was found to be two months pregnant. The culprit was sent to jail and got released after five months, and then attacked the girl's mother by shooting her five times in the lower back. Thankfully, by God's grace, the mother survived but needed several surgeries. After sending money for the mother's multiple surgeries, she came home with only a cast on one leg, and pain in that leg. So, I was able to connect with her through Atif using What's App video calling, and I did some healing prayer with her. Atif called me two weeks later and said the mother's pain was gone and once the cast came off, she was FULLY HEALED! I also prayed for emotional healing from all the trauma for both the mother and her daughter, and I blessed the baby (who happened to have the same exact birthday as mine!) -- this is not a coincidence, but I believe God wanted them to know that He loves them as He (with our Blessed Mother's intercession) healed them both so the young girl did not lose her mother! GLORY TO GOD!!! And we were able to send them money to relocate them to another house so they could not be found by this man again.
There are more miracles like this one, including a Muslim mother of five children who witnessed the love of her Catholic neighbors and decided to convert. When her Muslim husband found her praying to Jesus, he tried to kill her, so she fled with their children. Atif sent me a picture of her and her children, one of the little ones did not even have clothes on, he was completely naked because she had to leave immediately for her safety so we raised money to help find her a temporary shelter (Atif could only keep her at Mariam's House for a short time as it endangered the other residents).
Another big miracle is little Komal, a beautiful 9-year-old girl who was riding public transportation with her parents around Christmas time two years ago for the purpose of buying her a dress for Christmas. The little girl was SO happy to have a new dress that she jumped off the bus and as she ran to her house, a truck hit her and crushed her legs. By the grace of God, Komal survived but her legs and feet were severely damaged. So, Atif got involved as the parents had to sell their home to pay for multiple surgeries to restore her legs and feet. As of now, after several surgeries, she still can't walk, and the father ran out of money to help her. I've prayed for her healing over video call and God provided money through a generous donor who offered ongoing therapy services. The therapist said her muscles will not atrophy since we are continually providing therapy and he believes with braces, she can walk, and that's another expense we are praying for. However, I believe with all my heart that God can restore her legs and feet. The generous donor also shared Komal's story with the children in his Sunday school and these children all drew pictures to encourage Komal and prayed for her, sending her love notes (I had forwarded pictures of these children with their drawings to Atif for him to share with Komal and it made her day!). We are continuing to pray for Komal's full healing and restoration of her legs and feet, as we know NOTHING is impossible for Our Lord Jesus Christ!
Here is another miraculous testimony of God's love for His children. Atif met a young man who works as a slave laborer in a brick kiln, whose sister was sold into prostitution. The young man was very oppressed and hurting, he could barely look at me on the video call. He wanted to get out of working in the brick kiln so he could focus on rescuing his sister, so Atif called me to pray for him and his situation. As I prayed over the phone, the young man had a vision and heard God tell him that he'll be set free from the brick kiln by next year. His countenance changed and he was SO, SO happy! God gave him peace about his sister, and while he was too emotional to share details, he just kept smiling and thanking me for praying! It was beautiful to see such an immediate turnaround in his demeanor, as hope was restored! I've had experiences where I've prayed for kidneys to be healed and backaches to leave, along with other physical ailments and I've witnessed the Holy Spirit heal them immediately! It's truly an honor to witness God's love at work like this!
A Peace Center in Pakistan
Atif's vision of a Peace Center will bring peace to our wounded and broken brothers and sisters in Pakistan. They will experience healing of soul, spirit and body through healing prayer, and rehabilitation through legal help and trauma and grief counseling. Medical needs can be addressed as well. It will bring them hope and relief! There also needs to be more financial support for legal fees, travel expenses, relocation of families to safe housing, utility expenses, and other basic expenses. There is more to discuss, but this is just a picture of what more can be done if we partner together to bring peace and healing to this part of the world.
Blessings In Christ through Our Lady of the Rosary,
Lani Randall
In the near future we hope to help Lani set up a fundraising page through our friends at LifeSite News, at which time we will share a link to the page with all of our readers. There is no doubt that Lani’s firm faith in God’s Genesis revelation supports her faith in His power to work miracles here and now. As you join with me in praying for the success of her work for the persecuted Catholics in Pakistan, please continue to trust God to grant miracles of body and soul in answer to our prayers, as we work together to help restore the true doctrine of creation as the foundation of our Faith.
Yours in Christ through the Immaculata in union with St. Joseph,
Hugh Owen

Dachsie comment:
This seems like a very important matter. I have heard about 3 different understandings on this topic and there is disagreement between traditional and "sedevacantist" Catholic spokespersons. I wish there were one clearly explained true answer, in video and text. I do not know what the one true answer to this issue is.
It is very sad to me that there is so much disagreement among traditional Catholics.
I will keep praying for any living or dead person I want to pray for.

New Expanded “Fearfully and Wonderfully Made” Now Open
by Ken Ham on October 9, 2022
It’s stunning, technologically advanced, jaw-dropping, touching, and riveting. What is it? It’s the new, greatly expanded Fearfully and Wonderfully Made pro-life exhibit at the Creation Museum in Northern Kentucky. If you’ve seen the previous, smaller exhibit that’s been on display since fall of 2020, you alreaady know what a beautiful and powerful exhibit it was—and now it’s even better!
Our new exhibit opened today at the Creation Museum as part of our Palm Plaza upgrade (in the lower level). This new exhibit features twelve lifelike baby models, as the previous exhibit displayed, but our artists have added a stunning new feature that makes this exhibit the most technologically advanced in the museum. This visual effect is called “Pepper’s ghost,” and it allows people to “see” the skeletal system and organs developing in the unborn child. It’s truly jaw-dropping.

We’ve also added even more teaching signage from both a biblical and scientific perspective, including a section showing how views on abortion have changed in our culture over the past few decades, leading some scientists and doctors to redefine terminology to fit with socio-political pressures.
Also new to the exhibit are new video animations. One animation shows the development of a baby from fertilization through birth, while another shows the remarkable changes that must take place in both mother and baby within just a few minutes of birth, or else neither would survive. It’s such an incredible testimony to the thoughtful handiwork of the Designer!

Another big (pun intended!) change is a huge baby—four times the scale of a newborn—and placenta model that shows the intricate process God designed to make sure the baby receives nourishment from the mother through this truly phenomenal organ, which serves as baby’s lungs, kidneys, liver, digestive tract, immune system, and endocrine gland until birth. Nearby animation reveals this process in more detail and explains how the placenta protects and develops alongside the baby.
A few days before the new exhibit opened, I did a walkthrough with Sr. Director of Attraction Design Allen Greene, so I could give you a sneak peek. Of course, it looks even more spectacular now that our fabricators and designers have finished installing and tweaking everything for opening today:

I believe this exhibit is the most powerful and unique pro-life display in the world. You won’t want to miss seeing the newly expanded Fearfully and Wonderfully Made exhibit. Plan your visit today and bring the whole family (children 10 and under enjoy free admission for 2022) to learn about the wonder and sanctity of the lives God so carefully knits together.
Plan your visit at CreationMuseum.org.
Oh, and in case you’re wondering, we’re working on an exciting plan with another ministry for the previous exhibit so that even more people will be impacted with the message of the sanctity of human life. Be sure to follow my blog for more details on that in the future.
Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken

Re: Jesus Christ, The Way, The Truth, and The Life
Dachsie comment:
I just watched a video narrated by " Christopher" of the Sensus Fidelium YouTube Channel.
This video discussed the supposed or alleged apparitions of the Blessed Mother in Garabandal, Spain (San Sebastian De Garabandal, Spain, from 1961 to 1964 and whether is is a valid and true apparition. There were comments made in this video that Father Jenkins of the Saint Pius V order doubts the validity of this apparition. Coments were made that Bishop Richard Williamson does believe they are valid apparitions of the Blessed Mother.
On the next day, October 9, 2022, after the YouTube posting of that Sensus Fidelium YouTube referenced above, I received an email very late in the day from Bishop Williamson where Bishop Williamson discusses Garanbandal event as well as Fatima and Marian apparitions in general and his thinking regarding those events. What a coincidence.
Dachsie will edit this posting here later today as I have a few more comments on this topic of which I was previously unaware regarding this difference of position and understanding on this subject within the traditional true Catholic church.

Dachsie comment:
This was very interesting conversation and I did not know there was dispute about Garanbandal event.
I notice that about 39:50 on this video track, Christopher said
"I myself am a sedevacantist. That's why I support
Society of St. Pius V."
As I understand Father Jenkins' position regarding sedevacantism, he considers that term, and position, to be "problematic." He does not apply that term to himself or to the Society of Saint Pius V.
