Remarkably, the report does not even include the names, the ages or the sex of the alleged victims of the shooting. There is no actual identification of any of the dead. Even the Danbury, CT, Newstimes found it unsatisfying.

Wolfgang W. Halbig doesn’t believe anyone was killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School on December 14, 2012, and he’s looking for some answers. So many answers, in fact, that he was paid a visit by some police investigators telling him to back off.


Mr. Halbig isn’t your average “conspiracy theorist.” He’s worked in public education as a teacher, dean, assistant principal, principal of an alternative school and as the Director for School Safety and Security for the Seminole County Public Schools, a school district of approximately 65,000 students.

A former Florida State Trooper and United States Customs Inspector, Mr. Halbig was invited by the U.S. Department of Justice to train over 3,500 school police officers, school superintendents and school principals. He travels the country providing presentations and keynotes to a variety of school board associations and conferences and is a nationally-recognized school safety and security expert and consultant, who has provided safety training and school assessments for more than 4,000 school districts nationwide.

Death Certificates To heck with statute, says the clerk

Newtown town clerk Debbie Aurelia is not just disregarding state law and years of tradition in withholding death certificates regarding the Dec. 14 Newtown massacre. In this ultimate act of arrogance, she is declaring that she knows best — she is the law.

Ms. Aurelia is refusing to honor requests to see death certificates of those who were murdered by Adam Lanza — even though death certificates by law or custom have always been open records.

The clerk has put her foot down out of concern for grieving family members, and the law be damned. She also apparently thinks that a death certificate isn't the kind of information that the freedom of information law was meant to protect.

We understand the sensitivity to grief, but not the willful disobeying of the law by a public official who should know better.

State Rep. Mitch Bolinsky of Newtown, who introduced a bill saying death certificates of children under 18 can't be released until six months after the death, excuses Ms. Aurelia by arguing, stupefyingly, that she hasn't yet violated the terms of his bill, which hasn't even passed.

Connecticut public officials in general have performed well in reaction to the Newtown tragedy. But they have fallen down badly on the subject of government secrecy.

Seems you can't get a death cert after all. (Wonder of Wonders!!!). This clerk is just not going to give out this sort of information so that the families will be 'protected'.

The remedy for a clerk that doesn't intend to do her job is to get the sheriff involved. 'Course this is a town clerk so the sheriff might not have authority over city employees. If you attempt to get the sheriff involved and he refuses then his boss is the coroner (the same guy who issues the death certificate .. so this might be a dead [pun intended] end). The mayor might be the 'go to' guy for the performance of his employees.
