China's economy is disintegrating -

Worlds production happen in China. Interesting... What tends to happen if you have a lot of cash from more than a decade of monetization but nothing to buy for your cash? And some of those things are actually needed to maintain life in reasonable comfort?
This came up on a GIM2 thread also.Since pharmaceutical products generally do almost as much harm as they do good, there are going to be severe repercussions for big pharma as many people who are forced to do without will discover that they would have been better without it all along.Quote:
Mansour noted how the coronavirus outbreak in China has exposed America’s dangerous dependence on Chinese production of pharmaceutical and medical supplies, including an estimated 97 percent of all antibiotics and 80 percent of the active pharmaceutical ingredients needed for domestic drug production.
Most pharma meds are indeed trash but anti-biotics do have their place. Perhaps colloidal silver will fit the bill, but perhaps not. Anti-biotics have been the ingredient that has helped balloon the world's population to where it is today. Places, such as Africa and India with their filth and squalor, would certainly have kept to traditional population densities without the addition of anti-biotics. Say what you will and there is plenty bad about them, but I am certain they have saved my life in the past.
As for neuro's post above: There are certainly many conflating forces that will lead to inflation but so many other currents that will lead to deflation also. It is very difficult to see where exactly this is heading, financially. The forecast does call for pain, no matter what else. If a lot of old people, like most of us here, die off, then there will be a glut of housing opening up. It will be difficult to get many of the unimportant things that we all feel we need so bad and even more difficult to get many of the things we really do need. Then again, if older people are removed, the possessions are left for the survivors.
If there is a lot of cash chasing fewer products, then there will be inflation. Without the supplies feeding production, jobs also will be sidelined, leading to interrupted cash flow into pockets that can ill afford it because as we all know, it costs money to pay the bills and the bills don't stop. So this leads to deflation. Whee! What a ride! We will no doubt, come through this stronger.
Another thing to note is that cash requires an arms lenth transaction. I know that I will not want to get up close and personal with strangers while a plague is raging, so this will no doubt affect, even if minimally, the use of cash and bolster other means, such as crypto and credit to pay for daily transactions.
I am certain of nothing though. But the Chins seem to be taking this seriously if we are to believe they have almost half a billion people on some kind of restrictions to mobility.
ALMOST as much harm as they do good
I wish it would completely turn out they way you surmise but I do not think it will.
While I agree that a lot of meds are useless and we could do just as well without themThe ALMOST factor -- SOME of those pharmaceuticals made in China are very important for sustaining the lives of many people and the only people who will be able to purchase those products from new USA production factories are very wealthy people who can pay for the greatly increased prices over the low prices afforded by Chinese slave labor so the Phara companies may be able to maintain their profit levels while the poor people have to do without and maybe die.
The economy collapse of China sooner or later, probably sooner, will cause businesses and jobs in the USA to close down and the products, all products including pharmaceuticals, will skyrocket.
If the moneyed oligarchs that own and operate the USA would have devoted their efforts over the years to preserving USA sovereignty and jobs and production factories here in our once great country we would be in not so much of a crisis right now. Federalist Paper Number 10 tells how the USA with its many rivers for transport and its good land and waters and decent climate were a blessing that would help us to grow strong and independent.
Instead the evil oligarchs whom some call our wonderful capable and philanthropic capitalists got increasingly greedy and cared less and less about the strength and protection of our country that could only be sustained by keeping our industries and jobs in this country and cared less and less about the USA family being able to do well on a living wage for just the one parent wage earner. so the oligarchs' send our whole system to Hell in a handbasket.
The people who own BigPharma companies have never been concerned about producing their products in the USA but rather were concerned only about their highest profit share and maintaining their stock price. People who live in Communist China will not only lose their jobs but no one there cares whether they die from starvation or caronavirus.
The end result we will see for our USA capitalist system will not look much different from the Communist China system outcome.
I have to admit, I know very little about China or it's financial system. Do the people live in state run housing and must they pay monthly rent? If they have monthly bills for all the things we have to pay for here, then how are they possibly going to make ends meet when they have not been to the factories and put in hours to get a pay check?
The timing is impecable if real at all. How the msm gives it little if much coverage can only suggest they're incubaring it to make it a killer baby for later.
