Sweden To Store 1,800 Migrants On Docked Luxury Cruise Ship

Sweden has found itself at the center of the refugee debate in Europe.
On the heels of the sexual assaults that allegedly occurred in Cologne, Germany on New Year’s Eve, several Swedish media sources came forward with allegations that authorities conspired to cover up a wave of attacks perpetrated by Arab youths at a festival held at central Stockholm’s Kungsträdgården last August.
Additionally, there were multiple reports that Stockholm’s main train station is under siege by Moroccan migrant children, who apparently spend their days drinking, assaulting security guards, and accosting women.
Finally, in what likely marked the last straw for many Swedes, a 22-year-old refugee center worker was stabbed to death late last month by a Somali migrant “child” who was later found to be an adult.
Exasperated, some members of the “football hooligan” scene ran amok in the Stockholm train station late last month in an effort to wrest the transportation hub from the iron grip of child migrant gangs.
According to Interior Minister Anders Ygeman, Sweden now plans to deport 80,000 of the 163,000 migrants it sheltered in 2015, but that won’t stop the flow of refugees, which means the country is going to need to find more innovative ways to house the asylum seekers.
Fortunately, Migrationsverket (the Swedish migration agency) has a plan.
They will use luxury cruise ships to store migrants.
"Swedish tabloid Aftonbladet has revealed that one of the contractors which has agreed to provide floating accommodation for the agency, US Shipmanagers, has applied for planning permission to dock the ship, The Ocean Gala, in Härnösand, on the east coast of northern Sweden," The Local reports. "However, local councillors are opposing the bid due to the size of the ship – which would become Sweden's largest accommodation hub for asylum seekers if the plans go ahead."
That's right. The largest refugee center in all of Sweden is set to be the Ocean Gala, which could potentially hold 1,800 refugees. "At more than 185 metres long and with a 26,747 gross tonnage, she was the world's biggest cruise ferry at the time of construction," The Local goes on to note.
There was no word on whether the refugee contango is wide enough to make the floating migrant play profitable.
Officials were also silent on whether, when night falls and the refugees are asleep, The Ocean Gala will set a course for the Mediterranean.

Between 3,000 and 5,000 so-called ‘foreign fighters’ – EU citizens trained in Islamic state terror camps - have returned to Europe and pose a “completely new challenge,” according the continent’s top police chief.
“Europe is currently facing the highest terror threat in more than in a decade,” Rob Wainwright, Europol’s director, told the Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung daily, warning of the real possibility of Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) or other terror groups attacks in Europe.
“We can expect [IS] or other religious terror groups to stage an attack somewhere in Europe with the aim of achieving mass casualties among the civilian population,” he said, noting that the risk of attacks by individuals has also not diminished.
However, Wainwright refused to link the unprecedented increase in the terror threat with the ongoing refugee crisis. He refuted the widespread assumption that terrorists are infiltrating Europe under the guise of asylum seekers.

Last month, former UK Defense Secretary Liam Fox expressed concern that jihadists could sneak into the EU among asylum-seekers. Southern European countries through which they travel “have no idea whether these people are genuine refugees or asylum seekers, or economic migrants, or terrorists operating under the cover of either,” he said.
These worries were substantiated after the German domestic intelligence service confirmed in February that it had received more than 100 tip-offs alleging IS militants had arrived in the country pretending to be refugees. The news prompted further debate on EU migration policy.

Last year, FBI Director James Comey confirmed to the US Senate committee that Islamic State terrorists had obtained at least one printing machine used to provide militants with authentic-looking Syrian passports. The machine is believed to have been seized by terrorists during an IS offensive on the city of Deir ez-Zour. The revelation sparked concerns that large amounts of forged IDs can be manufactured in IS-controlled territories.
Two fraudulent Syrian passports were found at the site of the Paris attacks, which claimed the lives of 130 people in November. They are believed to belong to suicide bombers, who arrived in Europe via refugee routes.
In February, the FSB (Russian security agency) captured 14 gang members who were forging passports for Islamic extremists heading to Syria and planning to conduct terrorist and extremist activities in Russia.
According to a report on global terrorism from the Institute of Economics and Peace, since the start of the military conflict in Syria in 2011 between 25,000 and 30,000 ‘foreign fighters’ have arrived in Iraq and Syria, with Europe accounting for 21 percent of the total number.

The number of crimes committed by migrants and refugees increased by 79 percent in 2015 in comparison with 2014, German newspaper Bild reported.
Migrants and refugees in Germany committed around 92,000 more crimes in 2015 than in 2014, German newspaper Bild reportedon Wednesday, citing a report from Germany’s Bundeskriminalamt (Federal Criminal Police Office, BKA).The BKA report, called ‘Criminality in the context of migration,’ shows that migrants committed 208,344 crimes in Germany in 2015, an increase of 79 percent from the previous year.
Around 1.1 million asylum seekers were registered in Germany in 2015, more than four times as many as the 203,000 who registered in 2014; in 2013 there were 76,000.
“The vast majority of asylum seekers commit no crimes,” the report stressed. It emphasized that while the amount of crime increased, the rise was less than could be expected relative to the 440 percent increase in the number of migrants and refugees who came to Germany in 2015, compared with the previous year.
The BKA statistics show that while most refugees and migrants came from Syria (47 percent), Afghanistan (17 percent) and Iraq (8 percent), they committed proportionally less crimes.
‘Refugee criminality 2015 — the BKA report,’ reported Bild.
Syrians were responsible for the largest proportion of crimes, 24 percent of those committed. In second place were Albanians, who committed 17 percent of crimes but made up eight percent of those who migrated to Germany in 2015.
In third place were Kosovans (14 percent of crimes and four percent of migrants), followed by Serbs (11 percent of crimes but two percent of migrants). Afghans committed 11 percent of crimes, Iraqis nine percent, and Pakistanis (three percent of migrants) committed four percent of crimes.
The BKA noted that the number of crimes recorded rose sharply each month until the middle of the year, after which there was “stagnation in the monthly number of cases until the end of the year.”
“Since the attacks on New Year’s Eve on Cologne many Germans have asked themselves, ‘what impact has the influx of asylum seekers had on the number of crimes?” asked Bild on Wednesday when it revealed the report.
While the sexual assaults committed in several German cities on New Year’s Eve by migrants and refugees were not included in the report, its figures show that 1,688 sexual offenses were registered in 2015, 458 of which were rapes or sexual assaults. Sexual offenses were 0.8 percent of the total crimes registered in 2015.
According to the BKA there were 28 murders and 240 cases of attempted murder or manslaughter, almost double the 127 cases of attempted murder or manslaughter in 2014. One of the murder victims had German citizenship, and in two thirds of cases the victim and perpetrator were of the same nationality.
The most common crime committed by migrants and refugees was theft, 33 percent of crime. There were 85,035 recorded cases of theft, almost double the 44,793 committed the previous year.
Next were “crimes against property and counterfeiting offenses” (52,167 cases) and ticket evasion (28,712 cases), which made up 32 percent of the total.
In third place were 36,010 cases of “acts of brutality,” including “assault, robbery, extortion and acts against personal freedom (coercion),” double the 18,678 committed in 2014.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The fire at a hotel slated for conversion into a refugee shelter in Bautzen, Saxony, destroyed the building’s roof, according to the BBC broadcaster. The broadcaster cited Saxony Minister-President Stanislaw Tillich describing the cheering bystanders as "criminals." Two inebriated individuals were reportedly arrested for refusing to leave the scene.
The incident comes two days after some 100 protesters in Clausnitz, 50 miles to the southwest of Bautzen, prevented migrants from disembarking a bus to arrive at another accommodation center.
Anti-migrant sentiment has been rife in Germany, the main destination of mainly Middle Eastern migrants fleeing violence and poverty to seek asylum in Europe.
