Aww shite... so last summer I got that Oculus VR headset above, for use with later model samsung phones. It was interesting for a few weeks, maybe months, and there's always new, free VR "experiences" it auto-downloads. But eventually the novelty wore off, & it got boring enough that the headset went on the shelf.Quote:

^ and the news was devastating. facebook completed a big Oculus acquisition this March, and now, yes, must have an FB acct to operate the Oculus VR.
I've hesitated joining FB for the moment; really resent the coercion... bottom line is, if FB won't let me join with a fake screen name, and a corresponding anon email addy, IE without a real verified identity via credit card, DL, etc... then the oculus headset gets sold 2nd hand. :(
Actually, I'm sure all former, pre-March-2017 Oculus VR users who were FB-less, have since also been forced to join FB.
Yet another reason for Zuckerberg to fuckoff. Hopefully you can get a decent recoupment on your monies PatColo.

It was about $100; expensive part of doing the oculus/samsung VR thing is the phone! :rolleyes: I got a "factory unlocked" phone, IE not married to any carrier; can walk into carrier, buy a sim & choose a month to month plan, which I pay cash for monthly in person at their outlet... they don't even have my full real name coz I always pay cash, never "the convenience" of CC/debit.Quote:
