The only problem with Senator Hawley's presentation is that he compared the weaponization of the FBI and other federal agencies by the US AG and agency heads as bad as "the McCarthy era."
Senator McCarthy was one of the greatest patriots in U S history. I wish he could have routed out the extreme infestation of communists of that era.
The jurisdiction of the U.S. Attorney General, the U.S. Department of Justice, FBI and federal courts is concurrent with that of Congress. Prior to Dec. 2002 the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure Rule 54(c) defined an "Act of Congress" Rule 54(c) states:
"Act of Congress" includes any act of Congress locally applicable to and in force in the District of Columbia, in Puerto Rico, in a territory or in an insular possession.
Where did the U.S. Attorney General and his underlings acquire authority to regulate a parents rights and sic the FBI on them in a school board meeting outside the above noted locations? The answer is probably the passage of the Patriot Act. The Patriot Act did not expand the federal jurisdiction giving federal law enforcement jurisdiction not permitted by the Constitution.
Since they have us all in commerce and their courts are Admiralty none of the above applies.
