What saddens me the most is the soldiers that fought for THIS country based on lies and deceptions are being treated like garbage. Sure we can say onward Christian soldiers, go die for Israel. But I think their initial involvement was truly based on patriotism, which I understand and can appreciate, but now the chickens are coming home to roost and they're are being treated worse than someone with an EBT card. Very sad.

This thread, and its subject actually strike quite close to home. A significant co-worker, twice a year, works with a small organization to fly WWII vets out to DC to visit the exact memorials that have been shut down, and to hold events to honor them. I'll have to refer him to this story (although I'm sure he is aware) and see what his views are.
