I just read Steve Kirsch's summary of the recent conference held in Ohio where he was one of the speakers regarding early treatment of "COVID."

In Steve Kirsch's summary article he stated...

"The other ad I want to run is on masks, e.g,, “The latest data shows wearing a mask makes you more likely to get COVID. But the CDC is too embarrassed to admit they got it wrong.” Again, signed by 10,000 doctors with the scientific reference link. "

I was struck by the phrase "get COVID." I am not criticizing Mr. Kirsch's excellent work and realize an ad's wording for a billboard needs to be very brief.

But lately I have wondered what test the CDC recommends to determine if someone "has COVID."

Types of COVID-19 Tests

Viral Tests

Antibody Tests

Antibody tests should not be used to diagnose a current infection, but they may indicate if you had a past infection. Antibody tests help learn about how human immune systems defend against the virus, as well as learn about population-level protection. If you get an antibody test after receiving a vaccine, you might test positive by some (but not all) antibody tests. This depends on which type of antibody the specific test detects.

Antibody testing is not currently recommended to determine:

If you have a current infection.
If you have immunity to SARS-CoV-2 following COVID-19 vaccination.
Whether you need to get a booster following COVID-19 vaccination.

Antigen tests are considered Viral tests, and even RT-PCR laboratory tests are considered Antigen tests and apparently are still being done.

I am particularly interested in knowing if the new kind of "COVID test" that was to come into use in early 2022 and is now in use and what exactly what is the name and classification of that new kind of test. It supposedly was to REPLACE the old PCR test that was officially discontinued for authorized use by December 31 2021. It was my understanding that this new kind of test would produce test results that differentiated the flu, or the common flu, or a cold, from "COVID."

Dachsie comment - addendum: Secretary of State Antony Blinken now has "COVID" as reveraled by a PCR test result. Again, why are these newly diagnosed famous people being tested with the old PCR test? Answer is, with the PCR test, the DESIRED RESULT of either a positive or a negative is possible and that result can be used to support some other larger agenda that is behind all the top politicos and celebrities "getting COVID."

The recent rise in COVID-19 cases has led to a series of euphemisms to describe the uptick, but it's time to refer to the situation as what it is: a surge, The Atlantic writer Katherine Wu wrote May 5.

Nationwide, COVID-19 cases have increased 54 percent and hospitalization by 19 percent over the last 14 days as of May 5, according to HHS data tracked by The New York Times.

The collective sense of what constitutes a spike changed after the omicron surge this winter, referred to as a "new normal" by Maia Majumder, PhD, an infectious-disease modeler at Harvard Medical School and Boston Children’s Hospital.

Perspective isn't the only issue, according to Ms. Wu. The underestimation of cases is also contributing to the lax attitude about current numbers, she said. The country's goals have shifted with new CDC guidance, but the number of cases are about the same as they were in July during the delta surge, Ms. Wu wrote.

"The goal now should be to look at what’s ahead," Ms. Wu wrote. "It hardly matters if Americans end up calling this case rise, or future ones, a wave or wavelet, a surge or swell, so long as they take stock of whatever this is and try to keep it from growing even more."

Appears it's time to circle back to the old or new definition of "cases". As far as "hospitalizations", it appears that "COVID-19" can be stated as one of the "admitting diagnoses", but not necessarily the only one.

And then if we want to circle way back, we must see what test was used to establish the "COVID-19" diagnosis.

Then and only then will be able to start defining "surge."

FDA Restricts J&J’s COVID-19 Vaccine Over Risk of Blood Clots

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Thursday announced it will restrict the use of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine to adults who cannot receive mRNA vaccines, due to the risk of potentially life-threatening side effects.

The agency said the COVID-19 vaccine can now only be administered to people aged 18 years of age and older who can’t receive either the two-shot Moderna or Pfizer vaccines, which use mRNA technology. J&J’s single-shot vaccine uses adenovirus technology.

People who are aged 18 and older who want to receive the J&J vaccine “because they would otherwise not receive a COVID-19 vaccine” can also get it, according to the FDA’s news release. The agency did not elaborate.

Over the past several months, the FDA and other federal agencies have increasingly recommended that Americans get either the Moderna or Pfizer vaccines over the J&J shot. In December, for example, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued a recommendation that prioritized the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines over J&J’s because of safety issues.

FDA officials said in the release that they made the decision to restrict J&J’s vaccine after re-evaluating the data on the risk of life-threatening blood clots that may occur within two weeks of vaccination.

“We recognize that the Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine still has a role in the current pandemic response in the United States and across the global community,” said Peter Marks, director of the FDA’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research. “Our action reflects our updated analysis of the risk of TTS following administration of this vaccine and limits the use of the vaccine to certain individuals.” TTS refers to thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome, a rare form of blood clotting.

After an analysis, the FDA found that the risk of TTS syndrome in combination with low levels of blood platelets between one and two weeks after the shot is administered warrants placing limitations on use of the vaccine, the news release said.

Marks added that officials have been “closely monitoring” the J&J vaccine and the occurrence of TTS, while the FDA again asserted that the “known and potential benefits of the vaccine” still currently outweigh the negatives.
“The agency will continue to monitor the safety of the Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine and all other vaccines, and as has been the case throughout the pandemic, will thoroughly evaluate new safety information,” Marks added.

The agency also provided examples of people who may still receive the J&J vaccine, including people who suffered “an anaphylactic reaction after receipt of an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine,” people who have concerns about receiving mRNA vaccines and wouldn’t otherwise get a COVID-19 shot, and people who would stay unvaccinated because of limited access to mRNA COVID-19 vaccines in their areas. It’s not clear how the new guidelines will be enforced.

Johnson & Johnson has not responded to a request for comment.

COVID-19 is the illness caused by the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus.

Still the question of the accepted single definition of Case or Cases.

CDC does not appear to give one definition for a "Case." It does give a halfway-definition of a "Case" as it relates to a specific "disease."

The latest info from the CDC tells us there are several different TESTS used to identify "COVID-19". The old PCR test that we thought was stopped as of 12-31-21 is still allowed as an acceptable test as of May 2022.

Therefore this article and these statistics are impossible to interpret in any meaningful way. But this article and these statistics definitely will be found to be usable by some entities.

The U.S. reported double-digit increases in both COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations last week, according to the CDC's COVID-19 data tracker weekly review published May 5.

Nine findings:

Cases

1. As of May 4, the nation's seven-day case average was 64,781, a 21.4 percent increase from the previous week's average.

Hospitalizations

2. The seven-day hospitalization average for April 27 to May 3 was 2,219, a 16.6 percent increase from the previous week's average. This marks the third consecutive week hospitalizations have increased.

Deaths

3. The current seven-day death average is 334, down 2.5 percent from the previous week's average. Some historical deaths have been excluded from these counts, the CDC said.

Vaccinations

4. The seven-day average number of vaccines administered daily was 439,158 as of May 4, an 18 percent increase from the previous week.

5. As of May 4, about 257.9 million people — 77.7 percent of the U.S. population — have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and more than 219.9 million people, or 66.2 percent of the population, have received both doses.

6. About 100.9 million additional or booster doses in fully vaccinated people have been reported. However, 49.4 percent of people eligible for a booster dose have not yet gotten one, the CDC said.

Variants

7. Based on projections for the week ending April 30, the CDC estimates the BA.2 omicron subvariant accounts for 61.9 percent of U.S. COVID-19 cases, while BA.2.12.1 accounts for 36.5 percent and BA.1.1 accounts for 1.3 percent. Other omicron subvariants make up the rest.

8. The seven-day average for percent positivity from tests is 7.4 percent, up 1.62 percentage points from the previous week.
