Thanks for this message. It forced me to go back and figure it out. I think I can explain it now.
These key verses explain what was needed:
2Th 2:3Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
2Th 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
The term "letteth" means holding down. The obstacle holding down this evil one- or blocking his advance, must be taken out of the way. A few decades ago, the rapture cult tried to make people believe that the Church would be raptured out of the world and the Holy Spirit would be removed. That is not what the words say.
But today we have a great falling away and no restraint for the evil ones.
Why March 22?
[QUOTE=JohnQPublic;611363] the Middle Ages [QUOTE]
You'll note that was traditionally always called the DARK ages but since it is characterized by the murder of millions BY the Roman Catholic church or under their direction, they wanted to smooth things out by calling it MIDDLE ages instead. Nice piece of work there ...baby.
The ironic thing is this, it implies that the years 500ad - 1500ad are middle....middle of what? approximately 2000 years (since no calendar is 100% correct) we only know the approximate year.....from when Christ will come back and setup the millenimum reign the last 1000 years (of rest)
Adam to Christ = 4000 years
Christ to the revealing of the Anti-Christ = 2000 years
7 yr tribulation (time of Jacob's trouble)
LAST 1000 yrs Christ reigns as the rightful king, the KING of kings and LORD of lords
2 Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
I hear that for Lent you're supposed to give up something that's really important to you. Maybe he's simply giving up the papacy for lent and will want it back after Easter? ??? :|~ :(??
My girlfriend seems to think he's resigned due to a large influx of homosexuals starting to arrive in the workplace.
a couple items here,
St. Malachy (Moloch) Says There Will be Just One More Pope After Benedict
Pope Benedict XVI announced Monday morning that he would be stepping down as the head of the Catholic Church, making him the first Pope to step down rather than die in the position in more than 600 years. A new pope will be selected by the end of March. There will undoubtedly be much speculation about who will take over the reigns of the Catholic Church, but one thing that we can look to for some guidance about who might be the the next pope are the infamous papal prophecies of St. Malachy. St. Malachy, the first Irish saint, had a vision of the next 112 popes. We've had 111 since, and are on the verge of seeing No. 112, which Malachy says will be the final pope before the end of the world as we know it.
In 1139, Malachy was Archibishop and traveled to Rome from ireland to give an account of his affairs. While in Rome, Malachy received a vision about the future which included the name of every pope, 112 in total, from his time until the end of time. We currently are at the end of the second to last prophecy, with Benedict XVI at the helm.
St. Malachy had written about the 112th pope: "In the final persecution of the Holy Roman Church there will reign Peter the Roman, who will feed his flock amid many tribulations, after which the seven-hilled city will be destroyed and the dreadful Judge will judge the people. The End." Read more here
Red Ice Radio - Tom Horn - Petrus Romanus: The Final Pope
Thomas Horn is an internationally recognized lecturer, radio host and bestselling author of several books including his newest books, Petrus Romanus: The Final Pope Is Here.
He is a well-known columnist who has been interviewed by US Congressmen and Senators on his findings as well as featured repeatedly in major media. Thomas received the highest degree honorary doctorate bestowed in 2007 from legendary professor Dr. I.D.E. Thomas for his research into ancient history. He returns to Red Ice to discuss Petrus Romanus.
For more than 800 years scholars have pointed to the dark augury having to do with "the last Pope." The prophecy, taken from St. Malachy's "Prophecy of the Popes," is among a list of verses predicting each of the Roman Catholic popes from Pope Celestine II to the final pope, "Peter the Roman," whose reign would end in the destruction of Rome. St. Malachy's list heralds the beginning of "great apostasy" followed by "great tribulation" sets the stage for the imminent unfolding of apocalyptic events.
According to this prophecy, the next Pope will be a false prophet who leads the world's religious communities into embracing a political leader known as Antichrist.

I think the next Pope might be this guy: Angelo Scola. Middle top of the pic below. Could he be Peter the Roman? The man to the right of him is called Peter. Doesn't look roman though.
