A novel Catholic trade college is on track to open in Ohio next year, aiming to teach students a skilled profession while earning a bachelor's degree and deepening their faith.

Once students graduate from the Catholic College of St. Joseph the Worker, they will have earned a bachelor's degree in Catholic studies while becoming carpenters, electricians, masons, or heating, ventilating, and air conditioning technicians.

EDUCATION CULTURE WARS COME FOR 'WOKE' CATHOLIC SCHOOLS

"We're forming these students so that the head, the heart, and the hands are all combined and working together," said Mike Sullivan, the college's first president.

In an effort to unburden students from debt, the cost of tuition for the three-year, in-person program in Steubenville is $15,000 a year, including housing. Students are paid a salary when they train, so they can graduate with the financial freedom to start their families and be productive members of their faith communities.

"A fundamental aspect of our mission is to empower students to grow up quickly and not perpetuate adolescence throughout college," Sullivan added. "We want them to grow up and take responsibility for themselves and for their lives so that when they're finished with their degree, they can get married and get started with a family and be productive members of society."

Keeping tuition low and affordable was a key part of the vision of the college in an era in which the average student loan borrower holds over $32,000 in student loan debt and U.S. borrowers hold a collective $1.7 trillion in student loans.

"It is profoundly hypocritical for a college Catholic college to promote family life and tell students the family is the basis of culture, that it is the path to restoration, and then set them on a financial path that tends them away from that beautiful truth that they teach," Jacob Fareed Imam, the college's vice president of finance, told the Washington Examiner.

The college was founded by a group of Catholic men led by Imam, an Oxford University doctoral candidate; Sullivan, a local entrepreneur and contractor; and Alex Renn, the college's vice president of operations. They say their goal is to "produce faithful Christians who are virtuous citizens, intellectually formed, and capable of building up the church in their communities."

They want the college to help address the worker shortage for skilled trades while instilling honor and virtue in professions such as carpentry that date back to Jesus Christ himself. Catholic tradition teaches that St. Joseph, the foster father of Jesus and the college's namesake, was a carpenter who passed his trade on to his foster son.

Imam told the Washington Examiner that the idea for the college came from a conversation he had with a friend who worked in the admissions office of a Catholic college. The friend, Imam said, was feeling guilty about his role in assisting prospective students with obtaining loans, knowing they would be saddled with debt for the next several decades and thus inhibiting their future career and family prospects.

With that in mind, 2 1/2 years ago, Imam sought out Sullivan, a Steubenville local who owns a contracting company specializing in cabinetry and home renovation. Sullivan says he always wondered "why we don't have a good solid Catholic trade school."

"It's difficult to get skilled tradesmen with a solid character, and the character formation is sometimes really lacking in many cases," he told the Washington Examiner. "I've always sort of seen a vacuum there that could be filled very easily with a school model like this."

The college plans to welcome its first students in the fall of 2023 and is already accepting applications. Once accepted, students will attend the college in person for three years.

The college has three possible tracks that incrementally build on each other.

In the first track, a student begins with a "gap year" or year of "discernment," in which they will be empowered to sample the various trades to find out if such a career is right for them. Those who chose discernment can either leave the school with a "craftsmanship certificate" or continue through the college's three-year bachelor's program, which is the second track.

The third and final track transitions students who have completed the bachelor's program at the college's campus in Steubenville to an apprenticeship with a skilled tradesman anywhere in the country while still taking a handful of online classes through the college.

The combined bachelor's and apprentice track takes a total of six years.

The founders of the college see the bachelor's degree as a key way of convincing skeptics to take a look at their programs, even as cultural attitudes on education encourage high school students to only consider college as their next educational step.

"So you've got a student who wants to pursue the trades, but maybe his parents want him to pursue a BA ... and then the other side of that is the BA is going to be a solid foundation for the way they live their life and set [the student] up so they're really conversant with family life, economics, politics, and the Catholic theological tradition and philosophy," Sullivan said.

The college charges $15,000 per year for in-person classes, which includes housing. The additional apprenticeship years cost $5,000 each for a six-year total cost of $60,000. In the meantime, students are earning a salary for their work.

"What you find when somebody is in debt is that they are not free," Imam said. "You just don't have the funds to be able to start what you have dreamed of starting. You don't even have the freedom to dream of starting something in the same way. We just find that to be critically un-American, let alone critically un-Catholic."

While the low cost of attending the College of St. Joseph the Worker and the accompanying "paid to train" factor was an important part of Imam's vision for the school, it was also about, as he says, destroying the "stigma" around the trades, which he says is a reflection of the Christian ethic.

"[Jesus Christ] is the first time that you find in a major religion someone giving the dignity to manual labor," Imam said. "His path really did transform our view of manual labor, and I think as the society has grown less Christian, we've forgotten that truth."

The traditional trades and other skilled jobs have encountered an ever-growing labor shortage. One estimate from the National Electrical Contractors Association showed that for every 7,000 new electricians entering the workforce, 10,000 retired. Imam credits this somewhat to globalization, but he said the need for skilled tradesmen has never been more acute.

"I think many people are just starting to return to the trades, in part because it's the one thing that is absolutely local that cannot be exported," Imam said. "You can export so much production, but you have to build the home here, [and] you have to erect the building here. You can't do that anywhere else. It needs to be done here."

On July 26 the Roman Catholic Church commemorates the parents of the Virgin Mary, Saints Joachim and Anne. The couple's faith and perseverance brought them through the sorrow of childlessness, to the joy of conceiving and raising the immaculate and sinless woman who would give birth to Christ.

The New Testament contains no specific information about the lives of the Virgin Mary's parents, but other documents outside of the Biblical canon do provide some details. Although these writings are not considered authoritative in the same manner as the Bible, they outline some of the Church's traditional beliefs about Joachim, Anne and their daughter.

The “Protoevangelium of James,” which was probably put into its final written form in the early second century, describes Mary's father Joachim as a wealthy member of one of the Twelve Tribes of Israel. Joachim was deeply grieved, along with his wife Anne, by their childlessness. “He called to mind Abraham,” the early Christian writing says, “that in the last day God gave him a son Isaac.”

Joachim and Anne began to devote themselves to rigorous prayer and fasting, in isolation from one another and from society. They regarded their inability to conceive a child as a surpassing misfortune, and a sign of shame among the tribes of Israel.

As it turned out, however, the couple were to be blessed even more abundantly than Abraham and Sarah. An angel revealed this to Anne when he appeared to her and prophesied that all generations would honor their future child: “The Lord has heard your prayer, and you shall conceive, and shall bring forth; and your seed shall be spoken of in all the world.”

After Mary's birth, according to the Protoevangelium of James, Anne “made a sanctuary” in the infant girl's room, and “allowed nothing common or unclean” on account of the special holiness of the child. The same writing records that when she was one year old, her father “made a great feast, and invited the priests, and the scribes, and the elders, and all the people of Israel.”

“And Joachim brought the child to the priests,” the account continues, “and they blessed her, saying: 'O God of our fathers, bless this child, and give her an everlasting name to be named in all generations' … And he brought her to the chief priests; and they blessed her, saying: 'O God most high, look upon this child, and bless her with the utmost blessing, which shall be forever.'”

The protoevangelium goes on to describe how Mary's parents, along with the temple priests, subsequently decided that she would be offered to God as a consecrated Virgin for the rest of her life, and enter a chaste marriage with the carpenter Joseph.

St. Joachim and St. Anne have been a part of the Church's liturgical calendar for many centuries. Devotion to their memory is particularly strong in the Eastern Catholic churches, where their intercession is invoked by the priest at the end of each Divine Liturgy. The Eastern churches, however, celebrate Sts. Joachim and Anne on a different date, Sept. 9.

I tuned in for the first time in a few weeks today, July 26, to the live trunews.com show with Rick Wiles and Doc Burkheart. They were preachung their "Miracle Money" challenge giving his listeners a challenge that they need to increase their faith and give them the experience of realizing that God personally knows and loves them because God has sent them an unexpected money blessing because they first gave money to his "ministry."

I feel sad that these two men have lowered their form of preaching to this "bunk" distortion of the true gospel and words of God and Christ's apostles in the bible.

They were doing good comentary on the "corona crazy" news and good coverage on Ukraine and other news but then they decided to USE the impending nuclear war threats and war with Russia threat and leverage that frightening prospect into his version of the "prosperity gospel" or Seed faith" this old error is going by these days.

Here is a Catholic take on the real meaning of faith and blessing. The only real blessing is that counts is to live God and grow in faith in Christ and check out of this wicked world with your soul intact and on your way to Heaven.

SAINT OF THE DAY St. Panteleon (died c. 305) was a physician who once abandoned his faith, but upon his return gave his fortune to the poor and provided them with free medical treatment, including praying with and for his patients. When other physicians denounced him to the anti-Christian authorities, he offered a contest between himself and the pagan priests at his trial. While the pagan priests were unable to heal a paralyzed man, St. Panteleon cured the man by simply mentioning the name of Jesus. Many conversions are attributed to this miracle, but nevertheless he was tortured and killed for his faith. St. Panteleon is the patron saint of bachelors and physicians. READ

Senator Rubio asked a perfectly logical sounding question.

The interviewee, Gina K. Abercrombie-Winstanley, Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer at the State Department, gives the perfect example of the ideal Democratic administration bureaucrat. Lots of abracadabra hand movements and lots of mumbo-jumbo words making absolutely no sense at all and of course never giving an intelligible answer.

I think the ostensible "answer" was something like 'we are able to identify and focus on the "underserved communities" because the State Department has made an administrative rule that has defined "underserved communities" and any entity that is not thus identified in the official regulation is not an "underserved community."

• Incorporate “Social and Emotional Learning” (SEL) into all classes
(SEL seeks to transform the values, attitudes, and beliefs of students and achieve full
compliance with equity and gender ideology.);

• Understand “systemic trauma,” including racism and micro & macro aggression
(Trauma is presumed to have been inflicted upon victims from the oppressor classes);

• Be “inclusive” to reflect “diversity of cultures”

(Teachers will have to affirm homosexuality, transgenderism, sexual identity (gender as a
choice not biology), and the absence of moral standards for sexual practices which will set
the stage for the normalization of pedophilia);

• Fully affirm and incorporate identity politics into the school, including race, gender,
gender identity, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, economic status, and ethnicity;

• Focus on implicit bias and systemic racism, including “white privilege”;

• Prioritize materials from “traditionally marginalized voices that offer diverse
perspectives on race, culture, language, gender, sexual identity, religion, nationality,
migrant/refugee status... and other identities traditionally silenced or omitted from
the curriculum.”

(Identity politics will drive curriculum content);

• Teach materials that “empower learners to be agents of social change and promote
equity.

(“Equity” means required equal outcomes, not equal opportunity. Marx said it this way:
“From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.”);

• Train students in social activism through service learning;

• Connect students with local and global political activists;

• Understand that Minnesota’s laws were created to oppress by race, class, gender,
sexual orientation, language, and nationality;

(This is the Marxist interpretation of history through presumed identity group power.)

• Understand white supremacy, and how racism operates institutionally
(The Marxist assumption that our institutions are fundamentally racist);

• Understand “enthnocentrism” and “eurocentrism” as undermining “equity.”

(“Eurocentrism” and “ethnocentrism” form the core of America’s cultural, religious, and
political heritage and are presented as racist and oppressive. Young people are being
stripped of their history and instead are being told their heritage is oppressive: racist,
“white” and “heteronormative.”) "

So Senator Chuck Grassley wrote a damning letter to the FBI and the DOJ calling them out on their growing track record of flagrant abuse of power. It read like a letter to a hostile foreign country rather than to our own national security institution and the highest justice department in the land.

[B]Grassley wrote [B]"First, it’s been alleged that the FBI developed information in 2020 about Hunter Biden’s criminal financial and related activity. It is further alleged that in August 2020, FBI Supervisory Intelligence Analyst Brian Auten opened an assessment which was used by a FBI Headquarters (“FBI HQ”) team to improperly discredit negative Hunter Biden information as disinformation and caused investigative activity to cease. Based on allegations, verified and verifiable derogatory information on Hunter Biden was falsely labeled as disinformation.... the allegations provided to my office appear to indicate that there was a scheme in place among certain FBI officials to undermine derogatory information connected to Hunter Biden by falsely suggesting it was disinformation. Importantly, it’s been alleged to my office that Auten’s assessment was opened in August 2020, which is the same month that Senator Johnson and I received an unsolicited and unnecessary briefing from the FBI that purportedly related to our Biden investigation and a briefing for which the contents were later leaked in order paint the investigation in a false light."

Jonathan Turley further spoke on the escape route already laid out for the Biden crime family.

Everyone knows that Hunter Biden will walk. The system is completely corrupt. In fact, Donald Trump's Vegas odds of being indicted by Garland's DOJ compared to Hunter Biden's are laughable.

Did you notice that in the clip, Biden never blinks? Not one time during the whole clip. Watching it again and try not to blink along with him. My eyes water every time I try. How does Biden do it? He’s not blinking OR squinting.

His unblinkiness seems to have started sometime yesterday — after his first video. Someone did a side-by-side comparison of both Biden videos, where he blinks in one but not in the other. He also did a wardrobe change between videos.

Under his pseudonym “Pope Francis”, the Jesuit apostate Jorge Bergoglio is currently on an extended “apology tour” for Native Americans in Canada.

On his first full day in the land first evangelized by Jesuit missionaries in the 17th century, this past Monday, July 25, Bergoglio attended an indigenous “healing dance” performed for “Mother Earth”, the nature goddess which the false pope himself also adores or venerates The names “Mother Earth”, “Gaia”, and “Pachamama” are synonyms for the same false deity whose worship the post-Catholic Vatican now promotes under the guise of caring for God’s creation. (Francis’ 2015 encyclical letter Laudato Si’ provides the intellectual underpinnings for it.)

On July 27, however, things got even more interesting when Mr. Raymond Gros-Louis, a member of the Huron-Wendat Nation’s “Circle of Sages”, performed a smudging ritual “to the four directions”. He pointed out that the ceremony was specially adapted to Francis, who, he noted, has difficulty with smoke. Wearing a headdress that made him look like a cockatoo, the “sage” then presented the false pope with two gifts to enable him to participate in the ceremony: a wild turkey feather and some sweetgrass.

As he began with the smudging ritual, Gros-Louis explained (translation taken from this video):

We’ll do a virtual circle… even when we’re not in person, we can do things in spirit. And we’ll open a circle here today in spirit. And from that circle we can visualize a sacred fire. Because sacred fire unites everything that exists in creation. So we’ll put virtual tobacco in that fire as well. And we will honor earth, wind, water, and fire. I’ll ask the southern direction to open its door as well, to have access to that direction. I will ask the western direction to open that door, the grandmother door. You and millions of others are being invited to join multi-level marketing (MLM) companies to sell products, to become self employed, be your own boss, and to have unlimited opportunity. Everybody, teachers, parents and students all get the same invitation. And millions are accepting to become quote, direct sellers. What is it all about? Robert explains direct selling in this lesson. On the Ponzinomics 101 website, we have the transcript of this episode and other resources. We hope parents and teachers will share this lesson at home or in the classroom. It can be linked in a Google Classroom assignment, or whatever digital platform your school uses, with pre-listening questions and post-listening questions for students to complete that could lead to discussions in groups. Another teaching option would be the whole class listens together, and the teacher stops at a few key moments for turn and talk opportunities. Part of your prep could be to listen to Robert's lesson and maybe print out the transcript for the lesson and highlight and annotate your turn and talk moments and discussion questions. I absolutely see this lesson as a resource for concerned parents as well to share with their child who is maybe in high school or college. Until this is taught in all schools everywhere. Parents are the main source of teaching our youth about the dangers of MLM. Here's Session One, invitation to quote direct selling.

So, this discussion begins at the very beginning, which is about the term direct selling. Whatever the multi-level marketing product is cosmetics, vitamins, supplements, clothing, life insurance, hobby supplies, weight loss powder, and whatever the income promises by the multilevel company, whether it's you can become a millionaire, or it's a side hustle, extra money gig. However it's portrayed, it's always presented as direct selling. Multi-level marketing describes itself as a type of direct selling. So before MLM can be understood, we need to know what direct selling is. It's been around forever. It sounds simple. Most of us sort of assume we know what it means. But do we know what it involves? And what it requires when we say yes to the invitation to do direct selling? So first, we start with questions.

The first question is the most obvious one, even before you get into the actual nuts and bolts of direct selling is the word selling. Are you experienced and knowledgeable in the business and the work of selling? Many people are averse to selling or have never done it? And so this is a valid question and maybe the most important question even before you knew what all was involved is would you even be interested and qualified to begin with? Is this an area of work you're particularly interested in or considering as a life career or a career change? Do you know what the costs are, time requirements, the profit potential, or the needed skills for success in direct selling? That's what we're going to look at now. What's direct selling? Well, the FTC, the Federal Trade Commission, actually offers a very simple definition. Direct Selling, according to the FTC, is person to person selling in locations other than a retail establishment, such as social media platform, or in the home of the salesperson, or the prospective customer. So it's selling, but not in a store, and not with mass advertising and ordering. It's one on one, you and the customer, one sale at a time. That's direct selling.

So the second question, I think anybody would ask him on any kind of a business proposition, because these invitations to multilevel marketing are business propositions, "How do you get paid? How do you get paid and direct selling?" Well, like in any other work, you would need to know before you get started, how you get paid. In direct selling, it's not with a salary, or wages, it's take home profit. Take home profit is the money received from customers, when they buy your product, minus the cost to you as a salesperson to acquire the product you're selling. Then subtracted from that are all the costs you incurred in doing the work and making the sale. That might include your computer, car, your telephone, marketing materials, advertising, internet costs, meals, it might also include childcare, travel, training, tax prep. After these costs are deducted, that's what you get to keep to live on and spend as you wish, after doing all the work. That's take home profit. What are the requirements, in direct selling to take home profit? What's required for you to be able to make this successful? That would start with you. Do you have skills, the aptitude and the knowledge, any work would have the same first requirement. And there are thousands of books offered on the special skills for selling. The type of personality best suited for it, the special attitudes and mental habits that support selling. Most people are not in sales because they don't have the specialized requirements or they don't want to have them. So they're not in sales. But there are these special skills, aptitude and knowledge that are required.

Then there's the product. For direct selling, you need a product that is already needed and wanted for something or something new, that meets a special need, and that not everyone else is also selling. Something unique or unusual or available only from you. And maybe only a few other salesmen like you. You're out there by yourself. You're selling from your house or your apartment. You can't just sell what everybody else sells, you need something different. And after that the product that you have that special or different or new and that people already need or want, it has to be competitively priced. If somebody could get the same or similar product at a lower price, or even the same price as you're selling it for, you're at a disadvantage, a special product at a competitive price.

And then you need a profit margin. Now, this is something if you've not been in sales you might not think about or know about. But the margin we're speaking about here is the margin between what you buy the product for as a salesperson, and what you sell it for. That margin is what will cover all your time and costs and then leave enough to make your time and effort worthwhile. The profit margin in direct selling needs to be very high because the costs of selling and the time requirements are very high. They don't have to be high in a department store or a grocery store because the customers already come in and they're coming in and huge numbers and so on. But if you're going to the customer one at a time, you need a very large profit margin per sale to cover all your costs and all your time and to make it all worthwhile to you. You have the skills, you have the product, it's competitively priced, and there's a big enough margin for you to go out and spend that much time finding people now you need ways to find enough customers because a lot of prospecting is required to find enough customers who will buy over and over again from you. This might be done with advertising, your advertising. It might be done by just playing knocking on doors, social media promotions, staying in regular communications with each new customer. All of these will be involved in finding and keeping customers. So you need good ways, economical ways, efficient ways to find enough customers for you to sell enough product to make this worthwhile.

Then you need some protection because you've now invested a lot you've bought product, you've cultivated customers, maybe you've leaned on friends and family to become your customers. You're putting in a lot of effort. You've committed yourself. You need protection because the customers you find you need to keep. This might involve a territory of your own, or a product that no other salesman like you has, so customers will come back to you. This protection requires an agreement with whomever you're buying your product from, your supplier, that guarantees restrictions on the number of salespeople, or granting you complete exclusivity in an area. That way, the money, the time that you invest will keep coming back to you. And then you need something that you may not see in business school. So you need something that is often called tough skin. Because, truth is, selling is going to involve a lot of rejections, even insults, or just being ignored. Beyond skills, there is a kind of personal ability and willingness that's needed to take rejections. Not everybody is set up for that. For every sale, there's going to be a lot of "NO"s. And if "NO"s are something that are particularly abhorrent to you, upsetting, that's going to be a problem for selling. So tough skin against rejections, insults, or just being ignored. Remember, as we said this is take home profit. This is you, in your home, on your own, by yourself, independent, with a product, selling one at a time. You need the ability to just do it. Day after day. Self initiative each day to do prospecting, selling, managing costs and products and promoting yourself. There's no boss, nobody's watching. Nobody cares. It's just you. You have no personal manager. There's no clock to punch. It's just you doing it day after day. That's a skill. That's an ability. Not everybody has it. It's an aptitude. And it's a requirement.

So now we know a bit about what direct selling is. We know its definition. And we've got an idea of what's required for it to work. Let's go a little further about direct selling. What is it? How do people think about it? You're going to be a direct seller. What does that actually mean? You're not a teacher, you're not a lawyer. You're not a civil servant. You're a direct seller. How is that seen by other people? It does have a history. It's been around for a long time. And I think it's proper to say this that direct selling has always been understood as one of the toughest of jobs, on a personal level, for the reasons we just walked through. And financially, it is regarded as one of the most difficult to make money in, for the reasons we just walked through. The biggest obstacles are insecurity. You don't make a sale, you don't get paid. And the personal initiative requirement, it's all up to you. And then there are these costs. And they're often unknown as you begin. The cost to find customers, and then to maintain protection from competition. All of this goes into why direct selling has this reputation of being very tough, tough on the person and tough to make money on. I think it's also fair to say this, that those who knock on doors and personally try to get us to buy stuff are often depicted negatively. There aren't too many sales people heroes in literature, in plays. Think of descriptive terms. Like it looks like a salesperson making a pitch, the fake smile. That's the reputation. The work definitely requires special determination and independence, not to get discouraged by difficulties, by the high risk and the poor reputation.

So there's some other things to look at too if you've received this invitation. Somebody telling you, "Don't you want to become a direct seller at this great opportunity." There is some history behind direct selling too. In the United States, it mostly disappeared when big box stores emerged and retail stores were everywhere. There was a time in the United States when many products were simply not available to everybody everywhere. So salespeople provided a tremendous service. They came to you with these various products. People used to buy from catalogs for the same reason. The store wasn't in their area. But now, big box stores are pretty much everywhere. And on top of that is online selling, you don't even have to get out of your house. And virtually anything you could ever want, comes right to you. That affects direct selling. Notice there are no door to door salespeople. Have you seen one lately? They used to be around? You don't see them now.

And then the question that is again, a common sense question that many people when solicited or invited to multi-level marketing, don't think to ask. What products are still sold by direct selling. In other words, what products are best sold this way, as opposed to being in a big box store or online? Are there any, in the home, one on one? Which is what you're going to be doing as a direct seller. There are some: home improvements, for example, siding, roofing, solar energy, landscaping, these are often sold directly by the person doing it comes to you talks to you. And then there are a few financial products, insurance for examples. But this is often going online now as you see all these constant advertisements for insurance. Some of them are very funny on TV. You don't need a salesperson you're already sold, you can go online and sign up. And financial services, investment, stocks, often there's an agent that will come and talk to you. But even that you can do online, you don't really need salesperson for that either.

One more thing, we should probably bring it up to date, what's the current status really of direct selling of the selling we've just described? You don't need data here, or special research on this question. These are common sense questions I would call them. Yet in the pitch that is often made for multilevel marketing, people don't ask them and don't think to ask them. Let's put a few of them out there that keep you engaged in in determining what's best for you here. When did you last buy something directly from a personal salesperson offering a product or service that you couldn't have gotten more easily in a store or online? In today's time, who has time anymore for personal sales, presentations, when the information needed is available online? Even YouTube? Can you get online to get a complete presentation offered to you or a demonstration on YouTube? So who has time for some to make an appointment and have someone come to you? How many people are even at home enough to listen to salespeople? How many people would let a person, a salesperson into their home these days, unless they already know them or even know them well. So you can see that direct selling has a reputation from a past era, that in today's time, where people are often not at home, don't really want to hear from a salesperson for a product they don't need them for, or if they are at home they just don't have time to dedicate to this.

Now someone invites you to become a direct salesperson and engage in direct selling. That's what you're going to be doing for money now. I mean, "Is this really a viable thing?" That's what all of these questions come down to? You need to know what direct selling is long before they get into how much money you can make, how wonderful the product is and so on, these basic questions, but maybe it would begin with who even wants to hear from salespeople these days, but that's what you would be invited to go and do.

When Jim' name was mentioned, the witness (who appears to be one of Alex's producers) said he was a professor at the University of Minnesota, who had written a book, Nobody Died at Sandy Hook. When asked if anyone else contributed, she said "James Tracy" and they turned to James Tracy. But if he wanted to show that his statements that Sandy Hook was a hoax were reasonable, she should have explained that he brought together 13 experts (including 6 Ph.D.s) who concluded the school had been closed since 2008, that there were no students there, and that it was a FEMA drill for which they even found the exercise manual, which was published in the book. That would have knocked the socks off the jury! Not good. And Jim's blog has been taken and his bio-sketch page on amazon used to smear him at a time when many who are following the trail may want to know more about him and his research on Sandy Hook. Guest today Michael Ogden has a book, A World of Lies, Collusion and Conspiracy, which covers a wide range of controversial subjects, on most of which Jim agrees. Guest today Michael Ogden has a book, A World of Lies, Collusion and Conspiracy, which covers a wide range of controversial subjects, on most of which Jim agrees.

The first part of Mr. Ogden's presentation was very good. He explained how the same kinds of deceptions such as related to false flag events was going on in ancient times as well and he gives the basic reasons why these manipulations and deceptions work.

But in the second half things got very rough due to the main Revolution Radio ad break in the middle that the guest was disoriented by and not told about before the show, so this created a rough interruption and stopped the smoothness of this man's presentations. Also I felt like Dr. Fetzer was interrupting and argumentative while he was telling the guest that he was free to go forward and not worry about the time and that his show was a free
speech platform.

The show fell apart when Mr. Ogden's revealed his beliefs in "flat earth" and "nukes do not and never have existed" and then went on to refute "Darwin."

Dr. Fetzer is going to have Mr. Ogden back very soon on his show to "discuss" those three controversial theories. I will not watch that show because it just will be raised voices and a disharmonious experience for all.

I had thought I wanted to hear more from Mr. Ogden but not so much anymore. He laid the groundwork in the first part of his talk but for the specific purpose of dropping the flat earth and no such thing as nukes ideas that do not at all flow from the true ideas he set out at the beginning and I think, in fact, contradict those true sounding concepts.

I guess because I am on the "receive notifications" for Joshua Phillip "Crossroad" show, though I am not currently a paid subscriber to Epoch Times. (I was for a one month trial in the past and decided to drop the subscription.)

If “sociodynamics” is not yet a word to be found in any respectable English or American dictionary, it is nevertheless a reality parallel to aerodynamics. For just as there are objective laws of aerodynamics which must be carefully observed if any new make of aeroplane is not to crash immediately after it first takes off, so there are objective laws for the launching and survival of any society of human beings if that society is to survive and not crash to the ground. Now Thomas Jefferson (1743-1826) was a brilliant American lawyer who played a leading part in the founding of the new nation of the USA in 1776, and, unless it is a spurious quotation, he said how new that nation was going to be – “We are going to show the world that it does not need cardinals or kings.” In other words, men can rule by themselves without divine authority, religious or civil, to back them. In brief, human government does not need God.

Thus at the heart of the new nation’s Constitution was the principle of dividing its government into its three branches, legislative (making of laws), judicial (judging by courts) and executive (applying the laws), so that, in the absence of a Higher Being to control government activity, each of the three human branches of government could act as a check upon the other two. Now from 1776 onwards, it cannot be denied that the new nation was so flourishing and prosperous that the 20th century has come to be called by many “the American century”, meaning to say that the USA then emerged as the leading nation of the world by its economic and political power, admired and imitated all over the world. Yet in the 21st century few serious observers can deny that in 2022 its President is essentially inapt for his high office, having been elected by a stolen or fake election. And that nation is on the brink of civil war. What went wrong ?

there has been emerging inside the USA a fourth branch of government, growing in size, scope and strength, taking on a power of its own. It is now, he says, an unelected bureaucracy with some 432 agencies, employing nearly 3 million people who cannot be fired or controlled. For Tucker, the existence and harmfulness of this bureaucracy has been highlighted by a recent decision of the Supreme Court against one of the bureaucracy’s agencies, the Environmental Protection Agency, which the Court decided was overreaching its powers.

For Tucker, this was an admirable case of the nation’s judicial power holding in check its executive power, fully in line with the nation’s Constitution. However, as another example of an agency of the same kind, escaping unduly from Constitutional control, he quotes no less than the Federal Reserve, legislated into existence in 1913 by Congress, but coming since then to govern the entire economics and politics of the USA (see these “Comments” for March 7 and May 23, 2022). Does Tucker realise what he is saying ? If he is right about these unConstitutional agencies, then for more than a century the main life of the USA has been doing an end-run around the Constitution of 1776, to evade its famous “checks and balances”.

But is that surprising after all ? Scripture says, “Better a live dog than a dead lion" – Ecclesiastes IX, 4.
All the more: better a pack of live dogs than a piece of paper. It was live judges on the Supreme Court who in 1973 discovered in the USA Constitution the “right” to abortion, live judges who in 2022 found that it is not there after all. It all comes back to live human beings. Who has the power to hold them in any real kind of check or balance ? “One Nation under God” used to appear on American coins. It is from God that came whatever once made the USA great, in any real sense in which it was truly great. And if the USA, or any other country, will not turn back to God, its human beings will tear it apart.

If you were on vacation last week, good for you. You missed one of Congress’s greatest-ever scams. They just approved some $750 billion (do these numbers even mean anything anymore?) to “transition” us from fossil fuels and coal over to reliance on the wind and sun, and also to subsidize a bunch of chip manufacturers because American companies screwed up their inventory control two years ago.

The worst of the two bills is called the Inflation Reduction Act. Shameless!

The details of this don’t matter as much as the big picture. What you have in Congress and the presidency right now is exactly what one might expect from an empire in decline. Special interests are tapping the petty racketeers in political power to pillage as much of American prosperity as possible before they are swept out of office in November.

Think of a criminal band that has entered a majestic home. They are grabbing as much as they can before the owners come home. If it is not nailed down, it is going straight into the satchels and put on the truck to be carted away.

Actually, it is worse than that. What Congress is doing today with its out-of-control trillions in spending is robbing generations hence of a chance for prosperity. We will be left holding almost nothing to hand on to our kids and grandkids. Most of all, what’s being stolen is hope for the future.

The last two days have been consumed with a discussion about whether we are in a recession or not. They want to change the conventional definition, just as predicted. The only piece of data to which they can point is the low unemployment rate while failing to indicate that labor participation itself has not recovered from 2020 and continues to fall dramatically.

It appears as if we’ve lost 40 years of progress in a mere two and a half years. This is not an exaggeration: real personal disposable income has been falling since May 2021, the longest period of decline since the Second World War. It follows an explosion in printing-press faux wealth in 2020 that went as quickly as it came.

What is the effect of this? Sure, it could pull back the rate of inflation a bit, maybe. Mostly, however, it further wrecks the abysmal bond market which has been performing worse than at any point since the Civil War. That is what one might expect from a Fed policy moving from zero or negative rates to positive rates. It’s time for a return to reality.

It has also locked up the consumer end of the housing market. People only a year ago were flipping houses like crazy, driving up prices as never before and absorbing vast amounts of upside inflationary potential. But now 2% rates on 30-year mortgages are soaring to 6% and higher, meaning that no existing owner can afford to sell and buy without taking a huge haircut. As a result, we are facing a massive supply curve shift to the left: soaring prices plus falling demand. The industry is in quite a panic.

But that’s just the start of it. Credit card debt is up and defaults also, as real incomes are falling dramatically. Business investment is down. Consumer confidence has crashed to lows never before seen, even as trust in government will soon be in the single digits.

Very crucially: the last time the Fed squeezed the life out of easy-money policies in the late 1970s, we also had a new emphasis on economic growth. Yes, a recession resulted but under the influence of pro-growth economists, the whole country embarked on a different path. That was the path of growth and hope.

That is NOT happening now. On the contrary, the Fed is driving the recession at a time when the ruling class has decided that the rest of us should be poor and hungry, driving Flintstone cars and foraging for food. The result, for now, is shocking stagflation. But we don’t even have a word yet for what might be coming. Depression is already used. How do you describe high inflation plus a manufactured depression?

Let’s go with the White House term: transition.

Still, the New York Times assures us that this massive spending bill will help the government achieve its great climate goals. After all, they say, the average temperature has risen by 2 degrees Fahrenheit over the last 100 years, which, they further assure us, is the fault of industrial prosperity. To be sure, the average person only lived 30 to 40 years in 1800. During the same century that these people claim we’ve been burning up the planet, our average lives lengthened from 40 to 75 years.

Even granting the sketchy claim that your day trip and barbecue grill are causing the planet to overheat, one might suppose that life extension would be celebrated as a good thing rather than a climate catastrophe that cries out for the wholesale dismantling of industrial civilization. And what happens if the plan to lock down every two years in order to save the planet doesn’t work out as planned? Who will pay the price?

But truly, there is no making sense of these people anymore. They are ready to shell out hundreds of billions to take over arable acreage with solar panels even as we face a food crisis, and festoon the countryside with bird-slaughtering windmills rather than permit more pipelines and refineries to open.

The emergency of our times is undeniable, as is the solution of putting a hard stop on the insanity of government spending, money printing, mandates, controls, and impositions that are killing economic growth and shortening life spans. But it is no longer clear whether the current regime has a connection to reality at all. The current plan seems to be to wreck as much as possible before they are all swept out of office.

Putting it all back together again will require herculean efforts, an about-face on policy we’ve never seen in our lifetimes.

It was all kicked off by the most draconian and destructive public-health policy on record, one that utterly shattered the liturgy of life, took away education for the kids who were forced to learn alone with masks, shuttered churches and civic meetings, mandated shots on an unwilling population, demoralized the labor markets as everyone was forced to take their place as essential vs nonessential, broke long-established market relationships, blew the federal budget many times over, and generated a savings-wrecking inflation that has utterly transformed expectations for prosperity and progress.

Many of us despaired in the dark days of March 2020 concerning what could be coming. We could not have imagined half of it. Even now, even as mainstream media reports are starting to report on the overdoses and educational losses and collapsed public health, and economists are sounding the alarm about the future of enterprise itself, few are willing to admit the root cause. The lockdowns kicked off this hell.

“Revolutionary War imagery” such as the “Gadsden Flag” and the “Betsy Ross Flag” are cited in the document under “Commonly Referenced Historical Imagery or Quotes.”

[WASHINGTON, D.C. – Aug. 2, 2022] Project Veritas released a newly leaked document today provided by an FBI whistleblower, which shows how the Bureau classifies American citizens it deems to be potential “Militia Violent Extremists” [MVEs].

In the document, the FBI cites symbols, images, phrases, events, and individuals that agents should look out for when identifying alleged domestic terrorists.

Chuck Grassley has been sending lots of letters to the DOJ. Any reporting about these letters has been limited to surface-level discussion about their contents; whistleblowers have come forward from within the FBI. They have shared information that top-level officials have politicized the decision-making process while deciding when to launch investigations into high-profile political targets. Of course, you haven’t seen any of this in “mainstream” media, outside of Catherine Herridge for CBS. The reason for this is simple; if anyone dared to pull back even one layer on this onion, they would realize that there is something much, much bigger at play here.

Lucky for you, I am a professional onion peeler and am all too happy to take on the task.

This story is about more than a few random whistleblowers stepping forward to allege political corruption at the DOJ while using the names of those accused. This story began more than two years ago, as Senators Grassley and Johnson took on the daunting task of actually investigating Hunter Biden’s ties to Burisma, how that looped into Ukrainian corruption, and how Biden was involved.

The impeachment was launched because people in the Washington establishment have so much to lose should their Ukraine slush fund end. They couldn’t risk the truth about Ukrainian involvement in Spygate and the 2016 election coming out. Dirty Democrats, NGOs, and Republicans alike wanted nothing more than to taint the Biden/Ukraine story as the ramblings of a President guilty of pay-to-play. They figured it would grant them the ability to cast out all information that could potentially be released in the amount of time people cared. If the Ukraine cow stops producing milk, the soulless and corrupt order ceases to be fed. If the numerous dirty dealings perpetrated in Ukraine by government officials, NGOs, and private citizens came to bear, they’d run out of jail cells to house them all in.

If the world found out, say, that the United States was using Ukraine to run secret dirty bio-weapons labs, or if they found out that George Soros had most of his major operations there, or that the children of politicians were laundering money through energy companies to do the bidding of China, or that Ukraine was an arm for part of the “Russiagate” scandal that destroyed two years of a Presidency and split the country in two, or, or, or… Well, you could see why that may pose a bit of an issue. However, Grassley and Johnson wanted to know what was happening with Hunter in Ukraine, so they launched an investigation to find out.

And boy, did they find the motherlode.

To keep this article somewhat surface-level and easy to digest, I will only say a few words about their investigation. You can read this report to see the sordid details for yourself. (Also, note that I personally interviewed Andrii Telezhenko for a piece about Blue Star Strategies published here) But, essentially, their months-long investigation uncovered the Biden family and Democrat corruption better than any other “official” investigation has, and when the democrats on the committee realized that two untouched and trusted Senators were running right to “friendly” media to get said information into the press before the election, they needed to take action.

And take action they did. The plan was really simple.

1. Use the media to fabricate stories about anyone with credible information as the targets of “Russian Disinformation” campaigns. Make sure to quote anonymous intelligence officials to have the stories seem more credible.
2. Have the Speaker of the House reach out to the FBI, expressing her grave concern at the recent reports in the press (with a classified attachment) asking for a “defensive counterintelligence briefing” for all members of the House and Senate regarding “foreign efforts to interfere in the 2020 election”
3. Have minority members on the Grassley Committee request said briefing for their respective committees responsible for the Hunter Biden investigation.
4. Have the FBI give the briefing.
5. Use the briefing (and mischaracterize it) to write more fake stories in the press that the entire Hunter Biden story was a product of Russian disinformation.

Plan complete.

That is exactly what happened. Never mind that the Grassley/Johnson committee wasn’t using seedy dossiers from paid foreign FBI informants to gather its intelligence; instead, using documents from the Obama Administration and other government organizations, along with a powerful Democrat lobbying firm (one time a government subpoena was used for what was actually intended.) Pish posh. It was Russian Disinformation, damn it. And now, United States Senators were affected. The horror.

Here is a timeline, and again, this is very surface level, so I don’t lose all of you in minutiae that would make your heads spin.

July 13, 2020: Pelosi sends a letter to the FBI asking for the defensive briefing after Politico and The Washington Post published stories about Giuliani, Grassley, and Johnson being the targets of a Russian disinformation campaign involving Hunter Biden, Burisma, and Joe Biden. The letter contains a classified attachment, which was unavailable to Grassley and Johnson at the time, although the press reported on some of the content. The reports cite Andrii Derkach as the agent of Russia. Derkach was a member of the Ukrainian parliament and denies working for Russia. Giuliani relied on information from Derkach; however, the Committee did not.

July 16, 2020: Gary Peters and Ron Wyden, both ranking members of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs and the Senate Committee on Finance, respectively, send a letter to Johnson and Grassley requesting a briefing from the FBI, citing the Washington Post article as some of their reasoning.

July 28, 2020: Johnson and Grassley write their own letter denouncing the Democrat efforts to taint their investigation as Russian disinformation. In it, they say, in part:
“We also find it interesting that your letter to us was soon followed by a letter from Senate Minority Leader Schumer and Speaker of the House Pelosi, asking the FBI for a briefing on the same matters. Although we were not provided a copy of that letter and its classified attachment, news reports regarding the alleged classified portion suggest that it continues to falsely accuse us of having received information from foreign nationals about former Vice President Joe Biden, including audio tapes. Not only is that an apparent classified leak, but that allegation is false, and you know it because we told you it was false right after those reports were published.”

August 6, 2020: FBI gives the committee a briefing as requested by the Democrat members. In it, no specific information is given on how the committee may be targets of Russian disinformation.

August 8, 2020: Johnson publishes a lengthy, passionate, and specific “open letter” describing in detail the reasons for the committee investigation, what his committee had found in the past in regards to actual foreign interference in our elections, and the story of Ukraine. It also contains an addendum that calls out and responds to the reason for the August 6 briefing, a targeted campaign by members of government and the media to taint the investigation’s results into Hunter and Joe Biden and their involvement with Burisma. I highly recommend you read this letter in its entirety.

September 23, 2020: The Grassley/Johnson Committee releases its first report entitled “Hunter Biden, Burisma, and Corruption: The Impact on U.S. Government Policy and Related Concerns.”

October 14, 2020: The NY Post publishes the Hunter Biden laptop story. As a result, social media censors the story completely. Legacy media attacks it as “Russian disinformation” and sets the internet ablaze. Numerous media and other accounts are banned from social media for reporting on the story.

October 19, 2020: Fifty current and former “intelligence community” officials sign an open letter to the public stating their belief that the Biden laptop story is Russian disinformation. This letter is used as a tool by the government moving forward to censor the American public in their discourse on social media and craft a narrative about the dangers of “misinformation.”

November 18, 2020: The committee releases a supplemental report to the original, which contains more detail and information. (Read these. You are doing yourself a disservice not to.)

July 20, 2021: Johnson sends a letter to Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz, asking him to investigate the August 6, 2020 briefing and the lead-up to it. In the letter, he reminds Horowitz of how the DOJ used briefings to spy on the Trump team.

March 28, 2022: Grassley gives a prepared floor speech, combatting in part the “Russian disinformation” campaign perpetrated on the investigation to cast doubt on the results. He also uses floor time to detail the investigation’s results.

That brings us right up to where the whistleblowers started talking to Grassley and Johnson in May of 2022. They have been actively investigating and confronting this for years. They were well aware that there was a wide-ranging and deeply embedded plan to taint any and all information uncovered about Hunter and Burisma, along with Joe Biden’s role in it all. And, to no one’s surprise, it encompassed senior members of the DOJ.

The first letters written by Grassley regarding the whistleblower information came on May 31, 2022. The whistleblower alleged partisan action by Timothy Thibault, a man serving as the Assistant Special Agent in Charge at the Washington Field Office. Grassley writes in his letter that Thibault has partisan social media posts, something you aren’t supposed to do in a position such as his. But what else is Thibault responsible for? Well, he served in a “highly sensitive role that includes threshold decision-making over which Federal public corruption matters are opened for investigation.” Ya don’t say!! I wonder what he may have been responsible for doing or not doing when it came to the Biden crime family. I wonder if he could potentially have delivered a defensive briefing to the committee regarding the potential that Russia was targeting sitting Senators. Additionally, this guy traveled to the same seminar as Bruce and Nellie Ohr in February of 2016 while Nellie was funneling fake news into Fusion GPS. Interesting. Grassley also fired off another letter to DOJ IG Michael Horowitz demanding yet another investigation into this transgression. In his statement, he encouraged other whistleblowers to march right up and feel safe sharing information about the misdeeds of our DOJ. I suspect that he already had a few more in the pipeline ready to go, and that statement was to provide cover.

With all of this background, let’s fast-forward to this month. On July 25, Senator Grassley fired off yet another letter to Christopher Wray and Merrick Garland. In it, he references the letter from May and gets right to the heart of the matter. The second paragraph states the following:
“The information provided to my office involves concerns about the FBI’s receipt and use of derogatory information relating to Hunter Biden, and the FBI’s false portrayal of acquired evidence as disinformation. The volume and consistency of these allegations substantiate their credibility and necessitate this letter.”

Imagine my shock! I am not shocked, and now neither are you. You have the background no one else has bothered to cover. The letter goes on to name FBI Supervisory Intelligence Analyst Brian Auten. Whistleblowers allege that Auten opened an assessment that the FBI Headquarters used to “improperly discredit” negative Hunter Biden information as disinformation, which in turn caused investigative activity to cease. This next part is just too good, so I will let you read it yourselves. Go on, take a moment.

And just to put some icing on this pretty little cake, guess who allegedly made the decision to close an avenue of investigation into Hunter Biden? ASAC Thibault. The first named official from the May letter. Grassley goes on to demand a litany of information from Wray and Garland, most (if not all) of which will be ignored. We have one more step before I tie all of this into a nice little bow for you.

One day later, Senator Johnson fired off his own letter to Christopher Wray, Merrick Garland, Michael Horowitz, and Avril Haines, the Director of National Intelligence. Page two of his letter is below for your entertainment.

What is happening right now is the result of a two-year quest to ferret out who was behind the plot to squelch any real expose of the criminal actions of Joe and Hunter Biden. Carefully crafted and patiently constructed, these letters are strategic. These are puzzle pieces that have been placed together over a period of years, as the country has caught up to the fact that “misinformation” is a term the left and establishment use to dismiss their corruption.

Separately, it may be the tipping point at an FBI and DOJ where “woke” ideology and politically driven criminal prosecutions have gotten to such a point that they try the souls of honest men. We haven’t gotten “whistleblowers” like this before, especially in a climate of retaliation as we have right now. It may be the early beginning of the end of the nightmare of corruption at the DOJ. It may be the early beginning of the end of the stranglehold on the truth about the widespread corruption cash cow in Ukraine, as our world hangs on the brink of war.
It is the quest of two men determined to hold accountable anyone who tarnished them and who actually care about corruption.

If you took the time to read Senator Johnson’s open letter, you know what this corrupt machine did to him. You know the loop of the intelligence community now operating as our media. You know the tar and feather of his reputation. You know how the powers that be manipulated the public psyche before an election they knew he would lose anyway in order to keep their crimes a secret.

Ron Johnson and Chuck Grassley know every last bit of the truth about the man in the oval office, his corrupt family, and the corrupt administration that served before President Trump. They know everything about the fake impeachment and why.

Ukraine is the political cesspool that will bring it all down. It’s why all the desperation. It’s why all the shoddy reporting. It’s why all the hastily put together nonsense that everyone can see right through. If you need a good refresher on how Ukraine even ties back to 2016, listen to this podcast where I sum it all up. Ukraine is everything. If they lose control of the Ukraine narrative, they are going to lose it all. Look no further than the absolutely crazy way they are handling Russia to see I am right. Russia has it all regarding Ukraine information, and they are currently using their time at UN meetings to dangle it out like a carrot on a stick.

I often chastise elected officials for sending letters. The FBI never responds. The DOJ never responds. There isn’t ever any accountability. The only thing that makes me think differently about this particular topic is that these men have never stopped. Not while in the minority, not while being destroyed in the public square, not through any obstacle put before them. They are out for revenge. They are out for justice. They are out for what is right.

800 years ago, in 1232, Pope Gregory IX established an ecclesiastical tribunal whose chief aim was the rooting out of heresy. Bring back the Inquisition but with one caveat: Most, virtually all, of the current hierarchy is not allowed to serve on it. Indeed, certain hierarchs would be the objects of the tribunal, not the inquisitors.

The point of the inquisitions (plural, because there were different ones, and the Protestants had their own after the revolt in the 16th century) was to not just bring a heretic back from his ways, but failing that, to prevent him spreading his errors to others. Seen in that light, the Inquisition was largely about justice. Innocent souls have a right to the truth and a right to be protected from falsehoods.

That was the driving force behind the Church's Inquisitions. That is why we need them back again, removed from any taint of the hierarchy, because it is precisely from certain hierarchs that the innocent need to be protected. Viewed again from the perspective of justice, we can't think of anything other than an Inquisition to mete it out properly. The complicit, cowardly bishops, as well as the crooked and corrupt ones, will not confront those who bring a scourge to the people of God.
Innocent souls have a right to the truth and a right to be protected from falsehoods.

What they permit, what they advance, what they will not confront destroys faith in the minds and hearts of those with weaker faith. It is insufficient for those who have stronger faith (or naive faith) to sit back idly and throw around high-sounding platitudes like, "The Church has been here before; we'll get through this as well." That is only true corporately speaking. It is an abomination to say that in disregard for the individual souls damaged and wrecked by all this scandal.

And please, do not say to such as these, "Don't leave Jesus for Judas." That is true, of course; but you should thank God on your hands and knees that you have been given the gift of faith to such a degree to understand that. Others have not. They need you to take up arms and defend them, not go all "academic" on them. And precisely to the point, if you really believe that, then why aren't you doing your part to confront Judas, to defend them in the open?

Many in the Church these days are little else than selfish enablers, barely registering above the low bar of "professional Catholic," as Pope Benedict declared. You have your faith, you say, and nothing shall disturb it. You have your faith, but where are your actions in defending the innocent?

You can promote your own private little endeavors in the friendly confines of your local Catholic bubble, but where the rubber hits the road, where a soul's mettle is tested, where you are tried by fire and forged in divine justice is your willingness to lose everything you have, everything you have built to announce the fullness of the truth in defense of those who have a weaker faith. But for most Catholics today who count themselves as faithful, that is a bridge too far.

It's impolite; it's rude; it's "unnecessary." Leave us, they say, in our comfortable Catholic existence, a world we have crafted with a modicum of sacrifice, but, of course, always on our terms. To criticize a bishop openly in harsh-but-truthful terms, that's too crass. Tut-tut. Speak in charity, they say, failing to see that defending those of weak faith and in pained distress over the scandals of the Church is charity — charity in action. It is the very definition of faith and good works.
Many in the Church these days are little else than selfish enablers.

Are we to think for a moment that God Himself does not want the evil confronted, called out, exposed for the sake of the souls being lost because of it? Have you not heard what the Holy Spirit Himself inspired the Apostle to command the Ephesians: "Try to learn what is pleasing to the Lord. Take no part in the fruitless works of darkness, rather, expose them"? How does the Devil seduce a believer, one with faith? He does not tempt him so much in the ways he tempts the worldly, through the flesh. It is, rather, through the mind; through pride. He doesn't wipe away his faith or even so much diminish it, per se. Rather, he distorts it, making it fruitless.

With the hierarchy, many of whom do not accept the Faith, don't believe in the Deposit of Faith; he leads them to Hell by assuaging their consciences through substituting worship of the second commandment over the first. But for those who do believe, how best to destroy them in the fires of Gehenna? By having them bow down in all self-righteousness, bow down to the first commandment in neglect of the second. I have faith; those others should respond likewise. Thus, they condemn themselves out of their own mouths.

And when John the Baptist came to them preaching repentance and love of their neighbor, the well-heeled and self-righteous took offense. Both commandments were too much. No one attains eternal life by looking the other way in the face of evil to the neglect of souls. Those who do, Catholics who, in the secret of their hearts, count themselves as superior because they perform various works, need to go and learn the meaning of the words "How can you say you love God Whom you don't see, when you do not love your neighbor whom you do see?"

You cannot avoid the almost always uncomfortable conflict with evil and ever hope to see God's face. You must be a lover of truth, not a self-deceived lover of self.

�� Remember how the Biden Administration and his corporate media allies scolded everyone last week for using the regular definition of “recession” and swore that the “real” definition was much more nuanced, and since employment was so strong we were obviously in a fake recession, and things are really quite awesome? Remember that?

Bloomberg ran a story yesterday headlined, “Amazon Shrinks Staff by 100,000, Joining Netflix and Google in Hiring Slowdown.”

Haha, “shrinks staff,” these people kill me. You’re not fired. Just shrunk!

And “hiring slowdown!” Hahahaha! When a democrat is infesting the White House, you can fire ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND employees and the good little media doggies will roll over, beg for a treat, and call it a “hiring slowdown.” Fired slowly.

Calling a 100K layoff a “hiring slowdown” is like saying a rocket that exploded in midair “experienced an acceleration reduction.” My eyeballs rolled so hard it peeled part of my scalp off.

Just within the last few months, Bloomberg has also reported double-digit layoffs for lots of major companies: Carvana (-12%), Coinbase (-18%), Compass (-10%), Gemini Trust (-10%), GoPuff (-10%), Microsoft (-1%), Niantic (-8%), Peloton (-20% of corporate staff), Redfin (-8%), Robinhood (-9%), Rivian (-5%), StitchFix (-15%), Tesla (-10%), Unity Software (-4%). Companies that Bloomberg has reported having announced hiring freezes or reductions this year include: Apple, Lyft, Meta, Netflix, SalesForce, Spotify, Twitter, and Wayfair.

So, it’s just going great! Great employment numbers.

Amazon’s reductions are a little worrisome, in that the reason for the layoffs is shrinking inventories due to increasing supply-chain problems that Amazon apparently doesn’t expect to resolve anytime soon. And Amazon should know. It’s not critical, not yet, as the online reseller still has 1.5 million worldwide employees and remains the largest big-tech employer. But the 100K layoff figures are just for the first quarter of this year, so it’s not clear how many additional employees have been terminated in the most recent second quarter. Either way, it’s sure not going the right direction.

But it’s not a recession. Be positive!
