'Shocking' scale of Catholic Church child sex crimes revealed

About seven percent of Catholic priests in Australia were accused of sexually abusing children between 1950 and 2010, but few allegations were investigated, an inquiry in Sydney has heard.
The scathing figures, released as hearings began on Monday over the allegations dating back decades, were compiled with the cooperation of the church as part of the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.
The commission, Australia’s highest level of inquiry, reported 4,444 alleged incidents of sexual abuse by Catholic priests between 1980 and 2015.’.................
'Dreadful crimes against children'
Joan Katherine Isaacs, an abuse survivor, called the data "gut-wrenching".
"There are just so many children who have been so damaged over tens of years because of the Catholic church, and because of the extent of their cover-ups," Isaacs told reporters outside the hearing.
"I just wanted to come to be witness to the exposure of these dreadful crimes against children."
Six of Australia's seven archbishops, and leaders of other Catholic orders, are being questioned by the commission for the final hearing.
The worst-offending institutions were the orders of brothers who often run schools and homes for the most vulnerable children.

Conflicted on this one; siblings & I used to walk or bicycle to school; but in today's elite pedo/SRA world, I don't think I'd allow my kid to walk/ride to school, through around HS/puberty! Or park, or paper route etc! :( It sucks coz we know the CPS is incentivized to snatch kids, perhaps at the whim of a neighbor/whoever making a false complaint, and many/most of those kids are eventually drugged & fed into the pedo/SRA machine.

We won't get any good definition of "public figure" or any term but suspect the meant something like powerful person whose name is big in the news right now. According to GQ, Gentlemans Quarterly, magazine, Alefantis is the 49th "most powerful" person in D.C.

I was about to click on that latest Seaman video that you just posted here, but I just can't take much more of the details of what THEY do to children. That bit about public hangings required to restore confidence rings true to me, but at this point I really can never have confidence again in the system. Stew Webb also seems to know and has known for a long time the horrifying details of what they do to living children.

the whole of the commission is a white wash. It hasn't once looked into government paedo activity through the CPS system. It's 100% focused on the church to ensure people are distracted from other networks. Not saying there's no "there" there, but it's not all the "there" there is.
