It's a whole different world than what I grew up in. When I was about 12 years old there was a neighbor rancherwho ran several bands of sheep. My fatherwould take me and my younger brother out to one of the bands during lambing time to see if there were any leppies. I got one, raised him on a bottle with milk from one of our milk cows. I sold him for about $17.00. Dad took me to town to the hardware store to buy a .22 rifle. He waited in the pickup while I went in and bought a Remington 514 sigle shot .22. When I got back in the pickup with my new rifle he asked if I bought bullets. I said no. He told mea gun is no good without bullets. So I went back and bought a box of .22 bullets for about.50 cents I can't remember for certain what the rifle cost but I think it was $15.40.
The rancher later ran cattle then sold the ranch to E. Wayne Hage.l
