Agreed, good post Osoab. We've seen this countless times on this forum, threads massively derailed by calling folks trolls. Heck, there's posters that have been on this site since day 1 (myself included) who have been called trolls time and time again. It's wasted energy. Pointless, and all it does is bring down the quality of the forum.
We have a thunderdome for a reason. It rarely gets used, maybe it should be used more often.
If anyone has a true concern for someone being a troll, or a spammer, etc, report it to the mods. They do a great job, imo. Let them handle it.
If you want to go back and forth with nonsense, please do the board a favor and take it to the thunderdome. I hope I'm not alone by saying I've HAD IT with all the forum drama on this site.
Here everyone, have a hug.

After reading the Madison Wisc material at this link

I'm left wondering at least two things, and would appreciate folks chiming in with their thoughts.
1) I've never particularly thought to check where an eBay seller operates/is located in order to avoid doing business with anyone --in this instance-- from Madison, Wisc.
Thoughts?
2) If one purchases anything on the items listed on the Madison report electronically and nightly to the Madison govt list, do eBay buyers open themselves up to unintended govt reporting by a 3rd party for the laundry list in perpetuity? Kind of a "once on the list, forever on the list" mentality?
Thoughts?
........Parenthetically, it appears this type eBay (or ANY online auction) transaction could logically can flow through to the IRS by winning an eBay auction from such a seller...providing both the seller's "profit point" and establishing not only the buyer's identity with
out pix, id, color of hair, color of eyes as required by Madison law, but also the cost basis for all these items forever tracked from date of purchase forward?
My mind reels with the thought of data entry cost points for CD/DVD purchases, for example.
Now that yours truly has observed osoab taking his free speech protest to its own thread (Ban Hammer), permit me a 3rd effort to engage on this topic.
It occurs to me that this method of elected and appointed overseers straight-jacketing the populace engaged in commerce with definitions is the 'new spin' weapon for expanding control.
Are there any other examples of local governments just recently expanding definitions and implementing daily electronic reports of every transaction --not just precious metals and CDs/DVDs, besides in Madison?
Any other "locales" an eBay surfer should be on the wary/lookout for when surfing auction sites??
Hanging out at online auctions say Goodwill in Madison might not be a good idea anymore, just for one example.
I'm sitting here thinking, a whole bunch of sting operations are either being set up or in the making now that this Clintonesque trial balloon of Madison WISC has surfaced.
Don't we have some Wisconsin'ers here on GS? If so, is this even true and has it made news elsewhere in your state besides local flap in Madison?

HMMMMMMMMMM...just clicked their "online shopping link" I receive a "down for maintenance error msg"...
could the local govt regs already be biting the hand that is generating sales tax revenues for the good Wisconsin bureaucracy? ? ?
Wonder when THAT page take down occurred?
