This is what you should see in terms of the size of earth in the sky when looking from the moon...based on the Math... which I posted in one of the other threads - have we been to the moon or FE. asking someone to double check it for me. Anyone? Please feel free to take a look at it. The Moon disk Earth Disk ratio should be about ~4 to 1 if I got it right.
From that video the Earth is clearly significantly larger in the Moons sky, to the point of dominating most of it. Compare that to the image you posted and it's non "zoomed in" source, and its' clear something is not right with the imagery. Some of the examples or all of them.

Another junk piece from NASA. This time, they supposedly caught the new noon crossing Earth's path. A close look reveals another failure. But, at least they didn't paint the earth in this one.

Even taking into account magnification of the telescope and/or camera it's clear the variation is not substantial enough to be a possible answer to why there is such a discrepancy in the images we have seen. I think who ever created the earth from the moon image simply used the moons size in our sky as their model without taking into account actual difference in size of the bodies.
By actual size I should say "claimed size" because something might be very very small or far far away (sic),
