In need? I will give you firewood, or we can cut a bunch together and split it up.
Steal it from me? Rock salt....to start.
OHL- got a stick of butter, some flour, chocolate chips I can borr.... Ahh hell, just make me some cookies, I'll be in your pool. :-)
I expect this to get a lot worse, and common.
Here in DC area, it doesn't happen yet with firewood. (Mostly GPS and catalytic converter theft).
But firewood here is very expensive. The OP sounds like he is in some rural, more or less, area. I imagine a pickup truck load probably runs 50 FRNs. Here a cord goes for between 200 and up to 280 FRNs. At these prices, you can see how it can get stolen. I bought 3 cords this winter at 200/cord, thought I got a good deal but none of it turned out to be seasoned. I put a cord outside to dry. I totally would not be surprised to see it gone one day.
As the economics deteriorate, sheep will move onto petty crimes they would have never thought about before. Firewood outside is a "low hanging fruit".
Not much of a start.Quote:

This is a tuff one...I'm not exactly sure, How I would deal with a thieving Neighbor ???
No one like's a thief....but they are your neighbor .
There are certainly a lot of factors that come into play :dunno
I'm a wood scavenger and I pick up wood wherever I can. I won't steal from somebody's pile but I must admit, the neighbor that had a couple of cords of madrona firewood delivered into a pile in his driveway just to let it sit month after month had me thinking about it.
There is a reason rustling cattle and stealing horses was punishable by death back in the day.
