A search of criminal records in Comal County, where Kelley lived, yielded only minor violations — driving with an expired registration, speeding, failure to stop at a stop sign, driving without insurance.
A New Braunfels Independent School District spokeswoman confirmed that Kelley graduated from New Braunfels High School in 2009, but declined to offer additional details about him.
Dave Ivey, Kelley's uncle, said in a Facebook message that he "never in a million years could of believed Devin could be capable of this kind of thing."
"I am numb," Ivey said. "My family will suffer because of his coward actions. ... I am so sorry for the victims in Texas."
Federal officials said they'd found no obvious link to an organized terrorist group. Abbott said it wasn't clear whether Kelley had relatives inside the church when he opened fire, and Freeman Martin regional director of the state Department of Public Safety, said authorities were investigating whether Kelley belonged to a militia. But Freeman added: "We can't say one way or another."
Police found multiple weapons inside the vehicle, he said.
Rep. Vicente Gonzalez, D-Texas, said on MSNBC that he did not believe the incident was related to Islamist terrorism but "was some kind of other incident that has to do with the church or the community."
"It's a rural community and a conservative [one], mostly farmers and ranchers and people who work out in the oil and gas patches," he said, adding that the area was "very tranquil and very safe."
Re: Multiple Casualties Reported in Texas Church Shooting
sounds like he worked at the base in new mexico, got kicked out, then wen to live in colorado springs (where the air force academy is). why would he do that after getting kicked out?

The gunman who reportedly killed at least 26 people at a Texas church Sunday lived at a Colorado Springs mobile home park as recently as 2014, according to voter records.
He served in Logistics Readiness in Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico from 2010 until his discharge in 2014, the AP reported.
Sometime that year, he moved to the Fountain Creek RV Park in Colorado Springs, according to public records.
Kelley registered as an unaffiliated voter in Colorado on Nov. 13, 2014, according to state voter records. But he never voted, and his registration was changed to inactive after his 2016 mail-ballot was returned.
He did not have a criminal record here, according to a Colorado Bureau of Investigation background check.
His next known address was New Braunfels, Texas, a suburb of San Antonio where he lived until Sunday’s shooting.

million dollar home in new braunfels is a mansion
http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer...t-we-know.html
New Braunfels is a suburb of San Antonio, located about 35 miles north of First Baptist Church. Kelley grew up in the town, in a home worth nearly $1 million.
Kelley’s first marriage ended in divorce in 2012. He married in New Mexico in April 2011, and was sued for divorce in October 2012, according to court documents obtained by the Albuquerque Journal. The papers say the couple had no children together, but were living with a child from the wife’s previous relationship.
He married again in 2014, and according to CBS News his second wife’s name is Danielle Lee Shields. Kelley’s mother-in-law listed a P.O. box in Sutherland Springs as a mailing address.

I don't think this prick was at the Academy. Maybe Peterson or Schriever AFBs?

"[Kelley] was always talking about how people who believe in God were stupid and trying to preach his atheism."

Proof that StreetsofGeld is a crypto. It says shooting unarmed children and women inside a church-house "takes guts."
It must have "taken guts" to beat up his ex-wife and a little kid, too, which got him kicked out of the USAF.
When the armed good guy with the gun, Stephen Willeford, showed up, Killer Kelley ran away like the coward he was.

My .sig says it all. This kook rejected God, and consequently had no moral compulsion not to massacre unarmed children and women.
Jesus Christ Himself "divides the believers and unbelievers."

Someone at Academy is likely in big trouble...

But even if the assault charges didn't technically go down as domestic violence, assault alone can be treated as a felony, which should preclude gun ownership. And even if the charges didn't go down as felonies, the twin charges carried a maximum sentence of over a year in prison, and therefore should preclude gun ownership.
The federal government's firearm transaction record, which buyers must legally fill out, asks about felony convictions. Kelley bought a Ruger AR-556 rifle, used in the attack on the church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, in April of last year from an Academy Sports & Outdoors store in San Antonio, a law-enforcement official told CNN.
...Or did Obama's FBI botch the NICS check?
