Marting Luther on the Jews
I ordered this book " The Jews and Their Lies" by Martin Luther. I've been reading it and have found a link where it is available on line for free to anyone who would like to read it.
This is the first paragraph from the book below.
I had made up my mind to write no more either about the Jews or against them. But since I learned that those miserable and accursed people do not cease to lure to themselves even us, that is, the Christians, I have published this little book, so that I might be found among those who opposed such poisonous activities of the Jews and who warned the Christians to be on their guard against them. I would not have believed that a Christian could be duped by the Jews into taking their exile and wretchedness upon himself. However, the devil is the god of the world, and wherever God's word is absent he has an easy task, not only with the weak but also with the strong. May God help us. Amen.

Curious to me, that as a Lutheran, this is never mentioned!

Jews have infiltrated and subverted all the major organized religions for precisely this reason.
There are no large organizations of any kind, religious or otherwise, that I know of which haven't been infiltrated.

Have you got any links along those lines? I'm especially interested in any jewish influence on the Catholic church.

Here you go Banjo a two thousand year history of the Jews and the Catholic church. They've been trying all this time to destroy it. The church has been infiltrated over the centuries but they still haven't got it destroyed. It's agood read and a long one.

My only problem with this copy is it will have parts taken out it will say
"At this point Martin Luther goes into Scriptural detail to back up his points" (or something along those lines)
Which is what I want the Scriptural side, so that edition is lacking IMO.
I would like to get another copy since I have an ebook which seems to be longer and better.
Here is an excerpt from his last sermon.
"... Besides, you also have many Jews living in the country, who do much harm ... You should know that the Jews blaspheme and violate the name of our Saviour day for day ... for that reason you, my lords and men of authority, should not tolerate but expel them.
They are our public enemies and incessantly blaspheme our Lord Jesus Christ, they call our Blessed Virgin Mary a harlot and her Holy Son a bastard and to us they give the epithet of changelings and abortions. If they could kill us all, they would gladly do so; in face, many of them murder Christians, especially those professing to be surgeons and doctors.
Therefore deal with them harshly. As a good patriot, I wanted to give you this warning for the very last time to deter you from participating in alien sins. You must know I only desire the best for all of you, rulers and subjects."

Yeah it is sad, my understanding is that over the last 20 or so years the Lutheran church has fallen over itself to apologize for this "anti semitism"
Which of course is their prerogative, but if you aren't going to follow the teachings of Luther on Christianity I think it's time to change the name.

my local Lutheran church has a Jewish minister and the church manager is Jewish.
the minister mentioned Martin Luther "The Jews and Their Lies" once in one of their monthly newsletters. it was in the vein of, "we don't respect Martin Luther for his anti-Semitism, it is just one of his quaint idiosyncrasies".
i would like to find a Christian church that is honest about Israel & the Jews.
