Trump is telling the truth on this particular subject. Trump was also telling the truth about the birth certificate. Yet when Obama released an obvious fake, Trump congratulated himself for "making" Obama release it and only said he hoped it was genuine. The "birther" movement, and Trump's proposed run at the White House, promptly went away.

The Left thinks incrementally. They gain power by winning small victories over a long period of time. They think and plan for years in advance. We are where we are since 100 years of small victories by the Left have moved them to where they want.
The Right does not think incrementally. If someone on the Right does not agree 100% with something they sit down, lay down, and give up. This is why things will continue to move to the Left.
