Mink and Dogs exterminating Rats in a cattle feedlot

This is pretty interesting watching these mink and dogs work. When I was younger we had dogs that would catch mice. My cats are good mousers but the rats in this video might be a little to big for them to handle.

Great video! Made me overcook my breakfast!
I haven't seen rats that big in Western Mt., but we have plenty of smaller packrats.
I'm surprised the minks didn't get tangled with the dogs. My dog (Heeler/Aussie) has killed Pine Martens. She isn't as fast as the stock dog in that video though and isn't as good at not getting bit. Packrats are easy for her to catch. She's killed dozens of chipmunks and squirrels too, but half of them get away.

Where I live we don't have rats like those. What we've got when it comes to rodents are prairie dogs, squirrels and muskrats. I've had blue healer dogs that were pretty aggressive and they would go after about anything and that included mink and badgers. I'm thinking they must've trained those dogs with a shock collar not to go after the mink. There used to be some guys around that trained and worked border collies and they'd train their dogs not to go after rattlesnakes with a shock collar because their dogs were to valuable to let them get hurt.

It's too bad about you over cooking your breakfast hoarder, LOL! If I'm going to watch a video early in the morning I usually get my breakfast cooked then watch it. Those black dogs are really fast!

This is a video that the guy in the video above made on how he trains his dogs. At about the 6:00 minute mark the mink decides to go up his pant leg.

LOL serves him right wearing baggy pants. It wouldn't have found it's way up my Wranglers. My dog is half Heeler and half Aussie. Offpring of those two is always smaller, which I wanted. I have no stock, just a pet.
There are so many rodents in Montana I can't identify them all. Ground Squirrels and Prairie Dogs? Look the same to me. I didn't know they had Muskrats in Mt. Down South it's Cajun food.

Another ratting video that's good. Several dogs this time that are really fast and good.
