    Pistol caliber arguments are dumb

That said, make mine a pistol in 5.56 (at least 2,200 fps).

    A 9sillymeter is as effective as a .44 magnum.

You can jump to 7:38 to get to the meat (pardon the pun).

We used to use a .22 rifle to kill 1,500 lb cows. They work for squirrels and rabbits too.

Great post MR. After spending an hour following the links I'm now seriously considering buying a Glock 42 and using Hydra-Shok.

Good choice. I’ve a Glock 42 myself however lately I’ve gone with appendix carry and I don’t like the idea of a semi auto pointed at my groin so I either carry a LCR* or SP101 with 2.25" barrel appendix carry, loaded with Underwood .38 +p+ using Gold Bullets.

*I learned the hard way that the LCR in rimfire totally sucks - the trigger pull is atrocious (it needs that heavy DA trigger pull for reliability)

I shoot a Ruger Super Blackhawk in .44 magnum best but it's to big to be packing around all the time. What I pack most of the time is a Glock 33 in .357 sig but it will convert to 9mm or 40 smith Wesson in a couple of minutes. I pack a couple of pocket guns most of the time too.

You're going to have reliability issues if you don't swap out that .40 S&W/.357 Sig extractor and ejector when you install a 9mm conversion barrel. Sounds great in theory, but practice doesn't work out so well in that sort of swap without installing the 9mm extractor and ejector. Target practice with cheaper 9mm is one thing however I would not rely on the .40/.357 Sig parts when utilizing 9mm for a carry gun, could be a very regrettable mistake.

Here ya go Book, better ballistics than Hydra Shok, and this one is a good penetrator too.

I haven't had any trouble switching from .357 to 9mm yet and I do use the 9mm to practice with. I have the .40 SW barrel just incase ammo gets hard to come by and then I'd have another way to go.

Shot a cow square in the head with the 357 round a few days ago and that was the end for her.

I need a front pocket cargo shorts concealed weapon for hot 100-degree Summer days.

Walther PPK/S is very safe with one in the chamber but much too heavy.

Any more thoughts on the Glock 42 or something hopefully even better for front pocket cargo shorts?
