Source code, probably not. Most FEC/FTC etc government types have no idea how to read code anyway. Thanks. The guilty parties employed by google should be charged and prosecuted for their crimes. Breaking the company up could slow down their efforts, but may not prevent joint venture projects between former players.

I'm usually not one to promote government intervention in the economy, but Congress must absolutely make it clear that any platforms operating in American soil must safeguard and protect free speech and the first amendment. Trump should be pushing this, and pushing it hard, but unfortunately all we get is "well they're a private company so they can make their own rules." Nobody thought that way 100 years ago when the private phone companies were wiring up the country with their phone lines. Back then the government made it clear that speech protections apply to Americans using phone service, and we need the same rules today. We may already be past the point where these tech giants have more power over the public than the government itself!
