Democrats subpoena three top Trump administration officials

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff of California on Friday issued three new subpoenas to top Trump administration officials as part of the Democrats’ impeachment investigation.

Michael Duffey and Russell Vought, of the Office of Management and Budget, as well as State Department Counselor T. Ulrich Brechbuhl, have been summoned by Intelligence to testify separately before three panels next month.

Democrats want more information about the delay in security aid to Ukraine, which the party believes is tied to Trump wanting Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden and alleged Ukraine-tied corruption committed by the Democratic Party.

Vought, the acting OMB director, and Duffey, who heads OMB’s national security division, have already refused requests to deliver closed-door depositions to the three panels.

In letters sent to the three officials, Democrats warned that if they refuse to appear, it will be viewed as obstruction.

Democrats are building articles of impeachment against the president, and one of them is likely to be based on obstruction.
