I thought it was April 1st when everything went down. This forum was up the same day or the next day after GIM was vaporized.

I hear you. My memory isn't nearly as sharp as it used to be.
Perhaps someone (JQP) can chime in with the official answer. My memory is telling me that GIM was taken down very late on March 31st or very early on April's Fools day. Didn't we all think it was a joke? I was equally shocked at how fast JQP had this site up and running.
Looking at the members list:

madfranks joined 4/1/10
I joined on 4/3/10. I think someone emailed me to give me the heads up.
The first 6 months here were fun and crazy. Fred, wildcard, and many others had everyone on their toes
I miss Sparky and Ximmy the most.
