“Spotlight On: SEVEN” Begins Running June 11

Comes on Heels of Recent Peer-Reviewed Study at the University of Alaska Fairbanks and Submittal of Official “Request for Correction” to NIST Building 7 Report

NEW YORK CITY, NY — Starting this Thursday, June 11, PBS affiliates across the country will air a five-minute version of the controversial new film “SEVEN” directed by Dylan Avery, creator of the Loose Change series, about the explosive findings of a recent University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) study on the Sept. 11, 2001, destruction of World Trade Center Building 7.

A teaser for the upcoming film can be viewed here.

The film is a project of Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth, a nonprofit organization of architects, engineers, and affiliates dedicated to establishing the truth about the events of September 11, 2001.

The UAF findings contradict those of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), which concluded in a 2008 report that Building 7 was the first tall building ever to collapse primarily due to fire. The study, led by Dr. Leroy Hulsey (pictured above), was recently covered favorably in ConstructConnect’s “Daily Commercial News,” one of Canada’s top construction news trade publications.

From PBS:

“Spotlight On: SEVEN” has a Total Running Time of 4:45.

Late in the afternoon of September 11, 2001, a 47-story skyscraper on the edge of the World Trade Center complex collapsed symmetrically into its footprint — despite not being hit by an airplane and enduring only limited damage from the fall of the Twin Towers and small pockets of fire. The stunning demise of World Trade Center Building 7 set off a nearly two-decade journey to understand why this building came down when no building like it had ever collapsed from fire. Now, researchers at the University of Alaska Fairbanks have released a report that casts doubt on whether fires were really the cause. This short film tells the story of Building 7 and the engineers who are calling for a new investigation.

Following the release of the study’s final report this past March, Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth, along with 10 family members of 9/11 victims and 88 architects and structural engineers, submitted a “request for correction” to NIST regarding its report on Building 7.

The request for correction, which comprises more than 100 pages and five exhibits and relies substantially on the UAF findings, covers eight separate items of information that it says violate the agency’s information quality standards. Only by revising its “probable collapse sequence” can NIST correct these violations, the request contends.

The request also signals that a new generation of family members, many of whom lost a parent, are beginning to question the tragedy.

“I was sixteen years old when my father was killed in the North Tower. In the past year I’ve come to learn much more about his murder,” said Kacee Papa, one of ten family members to sign the request. “I would like to see the truth come out so that families can be aware, obtain justice, and above all ensure that nothing like this ever happens again.”

Fact-Based Evidence and Inconsistencies Cited in Request for Correction

The requesters allege throughout the document that NIST failed to comply with objectivity, utility, transparency, and reproducibility standards in several respects. The meatiest section of the request focuses on the failure of NIST’s computer model to replicate the collapse, taking aim at NIST’s claim that the model matches the observed behavior “reasonably well.”

From the request, page 47:

The 106-page request outlines multiple problematic deficiencies in the NIST report. For example, NIST attributed two seismic signals during the collapse of WTC 7 to “falling debris.” But according to expert testimony provided by Andre Rousseau, Doctor of Geophysics and Geology and former researcher in the French National Center of Scientific Research (CNRS), the seismic signals could only be caused by explosions.

From the request, page 49:

The request ultimately seeks to have NIST throw out its theory of the building’s collapse and produce a new theory that is physically possible and consistent with the evidence.

From the request, page 6:

The request for correction can be found on the AE911Truth website. The UAF report can be found on UAF’s Institute of Northern Engineering website.
