I think everyone had their role to play. Pence like all his ilk are paid actors for the elite controllers. They take their orders from those above them and not their conscience if they happen to have one.

Could also be to expose more that were afraid of being in the minority. Especially with Trump constantly repeating for him to do the right thing. When I heard that I instantly knew which way Pence would go.
