Are you guilty? Then you are responsible and at fault. Otherwise you might be innocent and irresponsible. Of course you might be exempt as well and be immune. In this class you might even be free.

When you consider the prefix 'res' to apply to yourself (responsible, resident) you volunteer to be the thing held accountable and are no longer free.
