    I run my own DNS server and have it configured to serve expired DNS records so I wasn't affected by this outage.

    unbound DNS if anyone wants to run their own server. Light weight, robust and reliable.

    I am running a DNS cache server. Is that unbound? Never mind, I looked up unbound:
    Mine is Bind9.
