Maritime Journeys In An ImmunoCompromised World

If you hold an event such as a flea market and do not charge an entrance fee liability insurance will not be in effect even if you have a policy to cover that possibility.

If you charge a small entrance fee insurance liability will cover accidents.

I suppose this goes back to the common law concept that the owner of a property owes thee duties
    1. To a trespasser the injury cannot be intentional
    2. To a service person they must be informed of anything known that might cause injury
    3. To an invited guest all things that might cause injury need to be taken care of

And insurance does not cover negligent acts of the owner. If you charge your 'invited guest' he has engaged in an act that makes him a tennant-for-a-day and a candidate for a Maritime payout from insurance.

An added comment ...store owners are subject to the same concepts. This is probably why MASK REQUIRED notices are posted at some stores. The owner is responsible for the toxic nature of all people on the property as that toxicity affects the health and wellbeing of other invited guests.

Rather than requiring something as ineffective as a mask these store owners could achieve the same result (aka their protection) by charging a fee to enter. Then a PANDEMIC policy could handle the liability of immune-compromised patrons in the (unlikely) event of their death.
