The next crisis is almost here!

    Food and necessity hoarding!
They are starting to show empty shelves on TV, in grocery stores, costco, Walmart. Some are even rationing TP and paper goods.
It might be time to stock up on all your necessities, TP, paper plates, napkins, tooth paste, laundry soap, razor blades, etc., you name it. Prices are sure to keep going up.
When the masses get spooked again, there's going to be a rush on the stores.
I'll be stocking up in the next week!
    Good luck to all.

Rather than stocking up why not learn what is necessary to survival and act accordingly?

Economy is the science of managing shortages.

    Don't ECONOMIZE!

Live as if there is a surplus and the result will surprise you

When you imagine shortages you manifest shortages.

The Lazy Little Squirrel who refused to gather nuts, a parable about incentives to work

ziero0 the squirrel was enjoying his first summer.

He had learned to leap from tree to tree using the spring of the branch to launch himself to his next target.* The feeling of exhilaration as he flew through the air was liberating.

All the first year squirrels liked to play together, chasing butterflies, splashing through the shallow creek and sunning themselves in the warm summer sunshine.

The older squirrels cautioned the newlings, ” play is fine, but as squirrels, we all must spend our time gathering acorns and other nuts for the cold winter when food becomes scarce.*If we don’t work together, we will all go hungry.”

ziero0, being somewhat stubborn and simple-minded , rebelled against the elders.”

I live to play,” He said.*” I don’t know what winter cold is, but rather than stocking up why not learn what is necessary to survival and act accordingly. After all, we are young and healthy, live as if there is a surplus and the result will surprise you…Why worry?”

ziero0 and his siblings resumed their play, pretending to not hear his mothers screech of anger.

Summer passed quickly and the early fall brought cooler nights, but the days were*warm and the sun shone with a*brilliant clarity. ziero0 continued to ignore the admonishment of the adults, playing and sleeping instead of gathering nuts for the winter.

One by one, all of his playmates left to join the rest of the squirrels in preparation for the coming season.

Finally it was only ziero0 , and his special friend, bushy tailed, midnight rambler.”

Look at all those fraidysquirrel’s, running to gather nuts” said ziero0 .” We squirrels Don't ECONOMIZE!. If we need food, the others will share their wealth, meanwhile we can play.”

midnight rambler flicked his tail in his face and sprang away, with ziero0 in hot pursuit.

Time passed, and late Fall turned into early Winter.*

The first snowfall of the season hit the forest. Everything was covered with a thin white blanket, and the crystals shone brightly in the morning sun.

ziero0 and midnight rambler sat on a bare branch of their favorite Oak tree. ” The others are still looking for food” said midnight rambler, his black eyes wide with alarm.

“Don’t worry”, said ziero0 ,” when you imagine shortages you manifest shortages. In the mean time,*the others will share their wealth with us* if we need it."

“Tag you’re it!” he shouted and sprang from the branch, sending a shower of snow to the ground below.

A few days later, Winter set in with a vengeance. The snow fell for 2 days, and the winds blew huge drifts against the trunks of the trees.

” I’m hungry,” whined midnight rambler.” All the nuts and berries are gone. What will we eat.” ziero0 looked around.” Yes I’m hungry too. Lets go ask the others to share their wealth.

”They scampered off and went to see the Top Squirrel and the other elders.” Can we please have something to eat.” They asked in unison.” We are hungry, and there is no food to be found in the forest.”

The Top Squirrel looked at them sadly, and shook his head. "We have been working all summer and all fall to gather enough food to keep us alive during the long cold winter.”*

He stamped his front paw.” That’s what squirrels do. We work as a community to provide the food to keep us alive. Everyone must contribute or we all die.”

ziero0 hung his head.” We didn’t know..” His dark eyes opened wide.” I always thought we were part of a community of squirrels.

All for one and one for all.

From each according to his means to each according to his needs.

    Share and share alike.

We should be be taken care of by the Community of Squirrels.”

The Top Squirrel shook his head. His eyes blazed with anger.” By ignoring* our warnings, and playing instead of working, you have jeopardized our community.

Everyone must work together for all to survive.

I’m sorry. You and midnight rambler must find your own food. We have only enough to feed those who helped gather the food. If we feed you we all starve.

THE MORAL of the STORY: Economy is the science of managing shortages. Don't be a ziero0!

"Everyone must work together for all to survive"

I am not EVERYONE. I am not ALL. In fact I am not even very many.

If ALL are going to survive then they had better take the vaccine. At least then they won't die of opposing PUBLIC OPINION.

Ziero0 Lives! All rumors to the contrary are ...CONTRARY

I'm not seeing empty shelves here and keep on stacking goods like I always have. The one thing I'm doing different is stocking up on booze and smokes even though I don't drink liquor or smoke.

I don't think it's a panic situation, just be aware.
I'm seeing many products missing, in short supply and things they are having a hard time keeping stocked. Prices are definitely going up, so buying things now (non perishables) you always use, could be prudent. I don't think food will disappear, and you will always find something to eat. Steak/beef prices are way up here.
If the TV hacks keep showing empty shelves, they are going to spook the masses like they did with TP. It won't take much to get a rush on the stores. Better a day early.
We will see as more workers get fired and walk out for the vaccine mandate in the coming weeks.

Most Americans Do Not Understand the Horror of the Coming Inflation Wave
    By Larry Johnson

If you are 55 years old or younger you do not have living memory of what it means when inflation takes hold of our economy. It is not merely that you the price of everything goes up. It is a recipe for killing the economy and will feed a black market and reduce the revenue that governments–local, state and federal–rely on to provide services.

I graduated high school in 1973. The United States was on the cusp of a major inflation crisis (I encourage you to read the article that is linked here):

This is the gruesome story of the great inflation of the 1970s, which began in late 1972 and didn’t end until the early 1980s.8 In his book, “Stocks for the Long Run: A Guide for Long-Term Growth” (1994), Wharton professor Jeremy Siegel, called it “the greatest failure of American macroeconomic policy in the postwar period.”

The great inflation was blamed on oil prices, currency speculators, greedy businessmen, and avaricious union leaders. However, it is clear that monetary policies, which financed massive budget deficits and were supported by political leaders, were the cause. This mess was proof of what Milton Friedman said in his book, Money Mischief: Episodes in Monetary History: Inflation is always “a monetary phenomenon.”

The great inflation and the recession that followed wrecked many businesses and hurt countless individuals. Interestingly, John Connally, the Nixon-installed Treasury Secretary who did not have formal economics training, later declared personal bankruptcy.

We were not just paying higher prices for food and gas. If you wanted to buy a house you were saddled with a double-digit mortgage interest payment. If you are now buying a $300,000 house with a $60,000 down payment, your monthly payment with a 3.8% is $1,401.63. What happens when the interest rate is 16%? You will pay $3,510.75. What do you think that does to the sale of houses? It kills the real estate market.

I had the misfortune of living in Argentina in 1984 during an incredible hyperinflation period. The inflation raged at 1,000% annually. Prices of food and fuel and everything else surged during the day. If you bought an apple in the morning for 50 cents, you would pay 75 cents in the afternoon. Imagine you are a small business owner having to constantly (I mean every couple of hours) re-price your merchandise. It is a nightmare.

This period in Argentina was devastating for the middle and upper-middle class. A dear friend was a baker. He provided pastries served on Aerolineas Argentina. Before the inflation spike, he purchased a new truck every two years. He lived in a 4,000 square foot home. His name was Alberto. He sold his home for $250,000 just at the start of the inflationary spiral in order to build a new bakery. When he completed the sale the agent forgot to pay the land tax on the property he sold.

During 1984 he struggled to complete the bakery. He had to sell his beautiful Ford truck and buy a clunker. The price of glass, wood, concrete, and tile went up every day. Alberto was like a man trying to stay afloat in Lake Michigan during a storm with concrete blocks attached to his feet. He eventually finished the construction and opened for business. But the cost of everything required to run a bakery made it impossible for him to stay in business. He went bankrupt.

The worst news came at the end of 1984. He was notified that his tax bill on the land he had sold was due. It was adjusted to compensate for the inflation. He owed $260,000. That is what happened to the value of the Argentine peso in just one year. The tax on land cost more than what he received for selling the damn house.

I visited Alberto in 2002. He was living with his new wife and three small children in a rundown shack with 1500 square feet and one bathroom. There was hole in the wall leaving the bathroom open to the frigid air outside (it was August, which is winter in Argentina). Oh yes, he had no hot water. Try taking a shower with cold water when it is 40 degrees outside.

I pray we are not heading towards such an inflationary spike. But the Federal Government is lying to you about the actual inflation rate. You are being told it is only 5.3% right now. Yet this calculation excludes food and fuel. Do you think those are not worthy of consideration in determining the inflation rate? Take gas as a telling example. The price of gas has gone up roughly 68% in the last year. That ain’t 5.3%. You are seeing a similar jump in food. Beef is up over 30%.

If you have an adjustable-rate mortgage, get rid of it as soon as possible. I do not know how high the real rate of inflation will go, but I do know that Joe Biden and his team are totally incompetent. The unfettered spending by the Feds has sowed the seeds for an inflationary wave that will dwarf what we experienced in the 1970s. I encourage you younger folks to do some reading and some preparation. You do not want to wind up like my friend Alberto. It was tragic.

All civilizations fail. Progress toward failure is a random-walk in probability theory. There are ups and downs.

Your ability to adapt is called BEING. Your friend Alberto obviously knew how to bake but managing appears to have escaped his being.

The Democrats are here to assist your being. They appear to feel good when they give you the opportunity to adapt.

Let's give a big WELL DONE BRANDON to all the Democrats!

I have to issue a False Alarm.

The communist left is ripping the guts out of our country, prices on everything are rising rapidly, shortages are showing up on everything, and all the masses are worried about is getting their God damn Christmas presents.

    Sorry for the false alarm,
    Regards!
