    Roe is Over 062422

    Friend,

The Supreme Court just overturned Roe v. Wade!

Now, each state will decide their own abortion laws without being forced by federal courts to allow the killing of innocent children.

In Texas, preborn babies are now protected throughout pregnancy!

From now on, every single day in Texas, we will save an estimated 140 children from abortion — that's two school buses full of kids per day!

Your prayers, your donations, your voice made this happen.

Our true work of building a Culture of Life is about to begin. Together we will:

    ✅ Hold abortionists accountable under the law;
    ✅ Expand resources for pregnant women;
✅ Protect vulnerable hospital patients; and
✅ Stop Planned Parenthood’s multimillion dollar effort to turn states like Texas blue.

This is a truly historic day for our country. Roe v. Wade has stained the moral fabric of our nation for nearly 50 years. We mourn the over 60 million innocent children lost to the savagery of abortion. In their memory we praise God for this marvelous victory and in their honor we will continue to work for the defense of Life!

    For Life,
    Texas Right to Life

    Re: Roe is Over 062422

FRIDAY, JUNE 24 - SOLEMNITY OF THE MOST SACRED HEART OF JESUS

ROE V. WADE IS OVER The Supreme Court on Friday repealed pro-abortion legal precedents Roe vs. Wade and Planned Parenthood vs. Casey in a 5-4 ruling, returning the matter of abortion to elected officials in each state. Republican lawmakers in at least 18 states have enacted “trigger” laws to protect unborn life immediately in the event of Roe’s repeal, meaning abortion is now illegal in over a third of the country. CatholicVote President Brian Burch hailed the decision and called on pro-life Americans to immediately act in the interests of cementing the Supreme Court victory at the state and local levels throughout the country. Abortion: now comes the war
    Jon Rappoport
    23 min ago June 24, 2022

I’m writing this a few minutes after the Supreme Court decision, so I’m not making reference to widespread violence. Yet.

I’m talking about the propaganda war, which will be huge.

Basically, the Court’s decision places abortion back in the States. Each State makes its own laws. The majority of politicians and academics and lawyers hate this idea with white-hot fury.

The last thing they want is: federalist principles actually working: power divided between the federal government and State governments.

They want all the power at the top. For themselves.

Ideally, they want to wipe out State powers altogether.

Decentralization keeps them up at night. They see it as the bastard child of nasty Constitutionalists who refuse to acknowledge the glorious dreams of absolute tyranny.

Decentralization and the powers of the states are the silver bullet in the heart of the werewolf.

THEREFORE, you’re going to see ceaseless attacks aimed at the states vis-à-vis abortion.

“Don’t believe anyone can still get an abortion just because half the states will permit it. You have to travel. What about the single working women who can’t take time off to go to New York for an abortion? What about the poverty-stricken women who can’t afford a bus ticket? What about underserved communities?”

“Those states who outlaw abortion are now active reservoirs of white supremacists and racists. They’ve been empowered. They pose a clear and present danger…”

“No state should be able to stand in for the federal government. And that is what this Supreme Court decision is promoting. If abortion is now the property of each state, what’s next? State laws against black people voting? Are we going to travel back in time to the brutal days before enlightened progressivism took hold in this country?”

The fact that states now decide the abortion issue on their own will be attacked from every conceivable angle.

If you don’t think this war is important, you’re not thinking.

Federal power versus powers of the states.

“The states are basically evil. We all know that. Every significant human advance over the two centuries has been won AGAINST the states.”

“We have to standardize not only abortion, but all election laws and all qualifications to vote---from above. From the federal level. Therefore, the Electoral College must be abolished. It favors the states. A President must be chosen by popular vote…”

    Same basic issue.

And you’re going to see this: Everybody and his brother, sniffing the possibility of government money (both state and federal), is going to set up a 501c3 that accepts grants and straight funding, to assist women to travel to a state that permits abortions.

The press will run gripping human interest stories on the efforts. Somebody will call it THE NEW UNDERGROUND RAILROAD.

“Women who can’t get abortions in their home states are basically SLAVES. And they have to flee to exercise their natural rights…”

What about Globalists? Think it through. In trying to erase national borders and set up one system of governance for the planet, which route is easier? Capturing the US federal government, or also battling against 50 States with their own powers?

Someone is going to claim a) slavery would still be the law of the land were it not for the federal government, and b) the right to an abortion is in exactly the same situation now.

Which is also saying the size and power of the federal government in 1865 is the size and power of the federal government now. Absurd.

Our future depends on DECENTRALIZATION OF POWER. Along all lines.

    Stay tuned.

    Re: Roe is Over 062422

    They did it.

    PRAISE GOD.

Moments ago, the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey. After nearly 50 years, and over 63 million children destroyed, the Court has returned the question of abortion law back to the states.

Here are some quick takes for you:

THE VOTE The vote to overturn Roe was 5-3-1, and authored by Justice Alito. Justices Thomas, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Barrett joined Alito’s opinion. Chief Justice John Roberts did not join the majority opinion but filed a separate opinion agreeing with the Court’s decision to uphold the Mississippi law but also arguing that the Court should not have decided the question of whether the Constitution protects abortion. The Court’s three liberals, Breyer, Sotomayor, and Kagan dissented against the entire ruling, of course.

THE IMPACT Immediately following today’s decision, the state of Missouri moved to activate their law outlawing abortion. We are seeing reports that abortions in Kentucky, Arkansas, Louisiana, and other states have been halted. The Attorney General of Texas declared abortion illegal and shut down his office announcing henceforth today would be a holiday in honor of the millions of children lost. Sadly, states like California, Illinois, and New York are likely to expand their abortion laws. Nothing in today’s decision will stop them from doing so.

GOD WINS AGAIN Not only was Roe overturned on the day we celebrate the Sacred Heart, but every other year it will fall on the Nativity of John the Baptist -- who recognized the humanity of Christ in the womb.

ANALYSIS The Court finally righted the notorious decision in Roe v. Wade after nearly 50 years of heroic efforts by millions of Americans in pursuit of justice. Nowhere in our Constitution do we find a right to take innocent human life. Further, the humanity of children in the womb has become plain and undeniable thanks to the decades of technological advances since Roe was decided. Millions of women have been coerced, threatened, or forced into a decision they regret. They too are worthy of protection. A dark chapter in our nation’s history has finally been closed.

THOMAS GOES THERE Justice Thomas issued a separate “concurring opinion” which is not part of the controlling decision. In his opinion Thomas argued that: “In future cases, we should reconsider all of this Court’s substantive due process precedents, including Griswold, Lawrence, and Obergefell.” Is same-sex marriage next? Not likely anytime soon. But he’s right on the law, the integrity of the Court, and the right reading of the Constitution.

MORE WORK AHEAD The Court today has merely allowed state legislators to begin the important task of supporting women in need, and protecting their vulnerable children from the grisly practices of the abortion industry. We urge state legislatures along with our federal representatives to move quickly to enact broad protections for women and children, and support for pregnancy centers, maternity homes, and programs that offer real choices for women to keep and love their children.

WHY NOT We won’t hold our breath waiting for corporate America, but for Catholics, June should now be PRO-LIFE MONTH.

NIGHT OF RAGE? Pro-abortion activists have called for a “night of rage” tonight, and we expect rioting, vandalism, and more all across the country. We again urge pastors and priests to have a plan in place to protect their parishes and people. Pray for peace.

THE POLITICS Nancy Pelosi took to the podium after the ruling and said: "No point in saying 'good morning,' because it certainly is not one." But of course it was a great morning! We’ve been ready for this moment, and we have new ads that will begin running in the coming days in key districts across the country. Pro-abortion groups too have unleashed a massive fundraising push, and are expected to raise tens of millions of dollars off the news. We cannot let up. Celebrate today by making a donation to your local pregnancy help center. Or to CV of course – here.

FUN SPECULATION Will the March for Life now move its annual march from January 21 (which commemorates the day Roe was decided) to June 24? Roe is gone. Why not?

Send me your thoughts and insights on this historic day.

I’d love to read and share them with the CV team.

    Brian

P.S. When I first heard the announcement, it was hard not to get choked up. So much work, by so many, for so long, finally paid off. I will always remember where I was when I heard the news this morning. Today is one of those historic days that we will never forget.

On behalf of all of us at CV, thank you for keeping us in the fight. I couldn’t help but remember how we united in prayer last December on the day this case was argued before the Court. Over 1200 parishes held adoration for LIFE! We’ve got a long way to to, but thanks to you and the entire pro-life movement, after today a lot more childrens’ hearts will beat across America.

Overturning Roe v. Wade Does Not End Abortion; It Returns the Authority to the States

by Paul Engel | Jun 24, 2022 | Abortion, Constitution, Politics

    Print Friendly, PDF & Email

The leak of a draft of the opinion set off a firestorm, both figuratively and literally, around the nation. With the release of the final opinion, we see a tectonic move in American jurisprudence. We the People, should be ready for the easily anticipated reaction of those who disagree with the court. Some will demonstrate while others riot. We should all expect politicians, pundits, and media personnel on both sides to make hyperbolic claims about what this opinion means. Still, as Ronald Reagan said, we should trust but verify. If we inoculate ourselves with a little bit of the truth, it is less likely that we’ll be taken in by the rhetorical onslaught most of us fully expect.

The best place to start is with the original language. In this case, what is the actual opinion of the court?

The Constitution does not confer a right to abortion; Roe and Casey are overruled, and the authority to regulate abortion is returned to the people and their elected representatives.

    Dobbs v. Jackson’s Women’s Health

The court did not find a right to abortion in the Constitution of the United States. The court is correct; there is no language in the Constitution protecting the right to terminate a pregnancy. Having taken the time to read the Roe v. Wade opinion, I realize that the claim to a right to abortion was never made in that opinion either. The Roe court found that the decision to have an abortion was a private one between the woman and her doctor, and could only be regulated by the states when the life in the womb was considered viable. It was subsequent opinions, political talking points, and media exaggerations that expanded on Roe to include the idea of a “constitutional right to abortion.”

The Supreme Court opinions in Roe and Casey are overruled. Both of these cases took the opinions of judges expanding on the language of the Constitution, to claim the authority to make regulating abortions anywhere in the United States illegal. Since there is no language in the Constitution protecting a woman’s right to get an abortion, these cases assumed a power not delegated to the United States. Specifically, the power to regulate abortions. Therefore, according to the Tenth Amendment, these powers remain with the states:

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

    U.S. Constitution, Amendment X

Since the power to regulate abortions is not delegated to the United States, nor specifically prohibited to the states, this power properly remains with the states. This explains the court’s third point.

After the leak of the draft opinion, I heard many politicians, pundits, and media personalities claim that overturning Roe v. Wade would be the end of abortion in America. However, that is patently false. The authority to regulate abortion is returned to the people and their elected representatives.

As a union of free, independent, and sovereign states, each state has the legitimate authority to regulate powers delegated to them by their Constitution and not delegated to the United States. All this opinion has done is recognize that fact and allow the states to once again exercise their sovereign authority within their borders without fear of federal interference.

What can the American people conclude, both from the reactions to the leak of the draft and the anticipated reactions to this opinion? First, we should recognize that there are people in our country for whom the ends justify the means. Some will use lies, intimidation, and violence to get their way. This should be obvious from the hysterical disinformation, more than 40 arson attempts on pro-life churches and organizations, and the assassination attempt on Justice Kavanaugh after the leak of the draft. The American people should brace themselves for more of the same. We should also take to heart Reagan’s admonition to trust but verify.

The Supreme Court has not made abortion illegal in this country. The power to regulate abortion has once again rightly returned to your state. If you wish for abortion to be legal, then contact your representatives in your state’s legislature and work to pass laws making it so. If you wish to restrict or abolish abortions, you should do exactly the same. But if America is to remain a Constitutional Republic, we cannot allow nine justices in black robes to write law from the bench.

My purpose in writing this article is not to debate abortion, but to provide some solid ground for you to understand what the court actually did in the Dobbs opinion. We the People, tell the government what to do, not the other way around. And since we did not tell the federal government they had the right to regulate abortion; the Roe court made a mistake which this court has corrected.

While I am glad to see the court apply the actual language of the Constitution to their decision, I am saddened that it took almost 50 years for them to do so. Like many of you, I wait, both prepared and with bated breath, to see how the rest of the nation will react.

What comes after Roe v. Wade?

    1. Hold abortionists accountable to the law

Now that Roe v. Wade is overturned, lawless Democrat district attorneys pledged they won’t prosecute abortionists. Don't let liberal local politicians give abortionists a free pass!

You can ensure that Texas is truly abortion-free and our laws are being followed by authorizing private citizens to sue abortionists, similar to the Texas Heartbeat Act.

    2. Support pregnant women

You can make Texas abortion-free and Pro-Life by expanding life-affirming resources for pregnant women through the Alternatives to Abortion program.

    3. Protect hospital patients

The anti-Life 10-Day Rule allows hospital ethics committees to make life-and-death decisions against a patient's will.

You can help eliminate the countdown so that patients and hospitals can work together to find a new care setting.

Unborn Lives Matter: Historic Court Victory for America’s Children

    39:18 video runtime

The United States Supreme Court delivered a historic victory today for unborn babies. America’s highest court overturned the Court’s infamous 1973 decision known as Roe v. Wade that unleashed nationwide abortion on demand. The court upheld Mississippi’s 15-week abortion ban, thus letting states regulate abortion within their borders. The majority opinion was delivered by Justices Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett. Three of those judges were nominated by former President Donald Trump.

Judge Alito wrote in the majority opinion released today, “The Constitution makes no reference to abortion, and no such right is implicitly protected by any constitutional provision….“

Roe’s constitutional analysis was far outside the bounds of any reasonable interpretation of the various constitutional provisions to which it vaguely pointed,” Alito continued. “It is time to heed the Constitution and return the issue of abortion to the people’s elected representatives.”

By now, you have probably heard the breaking news that Roe v. Wade was overturned just this morning. The Supreme Court decision is an incredible achievement and victory for life, and yet it is sure to spark hostile and negative reactions from many.

Given the hurt and confusion that may come from misunderstanding and fear, Father Hezekias and our team thought it would be helpful to you and our ICC family to produce a short study that answers the question, "Why are we, as Christians, pro-life?"

It is good and just that Roe v. Wade was overturned—are you ready to defend why? Can you point to passages in Scripture that show forth the sanctity of life from conception? Are you able to engage your friends and family in a loving discussion on these highly personal, sensitive, and deeply important topics?

Today, you have the opportunity to educate yourself so that you can be an apostle of life. You can internalize these truths, and then share them with others. You can help bring about a culture of life by leading others to the truth in love.

Vatican Academy for Life issues Lackluster Reaction to Supreme Court’s Overturning of Roe v. Wade Abortion Decision

    June 24, 2022

Says court ruling “challenges the whole world”…
Vatican Academy for Life issues Lackluster Reaction to Supreme Court’s Overturning of Roe v. Wade Abortion Decision

Today the Supreme Court of the United States issued its definitive ruling in the Dobbs v. Jackson case in favor of Dobbs. It explicitly overturns the Roe v. Wade decision of 1973 and the Planned Parenthood v. Casey decision of 1992:

Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade in Dobbs decision (Crux)
6 things to know about Roe v. Wade, Dobbs v. Jackson and the Supreme Court (Catholic World Report)
Seven myths about overturning Roe v. Wade (Catholic World Report)

This new Supreme Court decision does not make abortion illegal per se, it rather allows each state to decide whether to criminalize abortion or not.

The Novus Ordo bishops of the United States reacted quickly with a press release in which they clearly expressed their relief and joy at the Supreme Court ruling. Even “Cardinal” Blase Cupich of Chicago weighed in quite positively.

The Vatican, on the other hand, was a little more — shall we say — restrained in its enthusiasm. “Abp.” Vincenzo Paglia, the president of the Pontifical Academy for Life, released a statement that has been called “bizarre”, and for good reason. We will quote it in full:

The Pontifical Academy for Life joins U.S. Bishops’ statement on the decision of the Supreme Court of the United States. As Archbishop H. Gomez and Archbishop Lori declared:

“It is a time for healing wounds and repairing social divisions; it is a time for reasoned reflection and civil dialogue, and for coming together to build a society and economy that supports marriages and families, and where every woman has the support and resources she needs to bring her child into this world in love.”

The Court’s opinion shows how the issue of abortion continues to arouse heated debate. The fact that a large country with a long democratic tradition has changed its position on this issue also challenges the whole world. It is not right that the problem is set aside without adequate overall consideration. The protection and defense of human life is not an issue that can remain confined to the exercise of individual rights but instead is a matter of broad social significance. After 50 years, it is important to reopen a non-ideological debate on the place that the protection of life has in a civil society to ask ourselves what kind of coexistence and society we want to build.

It is a question of developing political choices that promote conditions of existence in favor of life without falling into a priori ideological positions. This also means ensuring adequate sexual education, guaranteeing health care accessible to all and preparing legislative measures to protect the family and motherhood, overcoming existing inequalities. We need solid assistance to mothers, couples and the unborn child that involves the whole community, encouraging the possibility for mothers in difficulty to carry on with the pregnancy and to entrust the child to those who can guarantee the child’s growth.

Archbishop Paglia said: “in the face of Western society that is losing its passion for life, this act is a powerful invitation to reflect together on the serious and urgent issue of human generativity and the conditions that make it possible; by choosing life, our responsibility for the future of humanity is at stake”.

    Vatican City, June 24, 2022

    (Source)

The lack of enthusiasm in this message is palpable. It is quite evident that “Abp.” Paglia is not thrilled with this Supreme Court decision.

Although Jorge Bergoglio (“Pope Francis”) has issued strong words of condemnation of abortion in the past, his actions, inactions, and shifts of emphasis have made it very clear that this “Vicar of Christ” does not consider abortion to be a big deal, much less something we should “obsess” about. And besides, “God never tires of forgiving”, he never ceases to remind the world.

Francis is a clever fellow. In late 2016, he revamped the entire Pontifical Academy for Life, which allowed him to dismiss all members, even though they had been granted a lifetime appointment:

Francis Dismisses Entire Membership of Pontifical Academy for Life (Nov. 19, 2016)

He also revised the academy’s statutes to the effect that new members would no longer have to uphold the Novus Ordo doctrines concerning human life: “Members of the Pontifical Academy for Life will no longer be required to sign a declaration that they uphold the Church’s pro-life teachings”, Life Site wrote in a report on the changes.

The man he had picked as head of the academy, “Abp.” Paglia, later made the news for having commissioned a homo-erotic mural in the cathedral of his diocese years prior, and it includes a depiction of himself: “The archbishop now at the helm of the Pontifical Academy for Life paid a homosexual artist to paint a blasphemous homoerotic mural in his cathedral church in 2007. The mural includes an image of the archbishop himself”, Life Site reported. Here are some more links on that story:

Vatican archbishop featured in homoerotic painting he commissioned (Mar. 3, 2017)
Vatican pro-life academy’s founding members blast new President’s X-rated mural as ‘demonic,’ ‘disgusting’ (Mar. 15, 2017)
Vatican archbishop defends cathedral’s pornographic, homoerotic mural as ‘evangelizing’ tool (June 7, 2017)

The same head of the “pontifical” academy also made news a few years back declaring that Francis’ exhortation Amoris Laetitia does indeed open the door for Novus Ordo Communion to be given to those who are publicly known to persist in adulterous relations:

Vatican archbishop: Pope Francis opened Communion to adulterers (July 27, 2017)

That Paglia should not be terribly thrilled by the momentous decision of Dobbs vs. Jackson today, is therefore not exactly a big surprise.

Over at Life Site, Kennedy Hall is cautiously floating the idea that maybe the Supreme Court’s ruling today has something to do with Bergoglio’s consecration of Russia (and Ukraine and the world and …) to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, which he performed in March. Such an opinion would come in handy for Francis, since nothing gets conservative Novus Ordos fired up more than abortion. If they can be convinced that the Dobbs vs. Jackson decision was, in a sense, “Pope” Francis’ doing, they will be very tempted to overlook all his ongoing apostasy and blasphemy.

One final observation is in order.

The U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade was published on a most significant date: June 24, 2022. Generally June 24 is the Feast of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, who as an unborn child leaped for joy as the voice of the Virgin Mary, pregnant with the Son of God, sounded in the ears of his mother. St. Elizabeth proclaimed: “For behold as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in my ears, the infant in my womb leaped for joy” (Lk 1:44). This year, however, the Feast of the Baptist’s birth is transferred to June 25, yielding to the Feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, which is always celebrated on the Friday in the week after Corpus Christi. This year that day is June 24.

May the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament be praised, adored, and loved, with grateful affection, at every moment, in all the tabernacles of the world, even to the end of time. Amen.
