I've been investing lately in this category.
I think it's an area most overlooked in the West, but makes the most sense logically when you think about it.


If you try carrying Gold coins across a border, it may get confiscated, or at least you'll need to declare it.
With Gold Jewelry that’s different since it just blends in with your attire, and few people even think about 24K Gold Jewelry since the concept is foreign in most countries other than some South East Asian countries and places like India.

A lot of the existing Gold/Silver companies are already doing affiliates with Nebu.
Personally I've been using Mene. It's a public company, and currently it has higher premiums, but much more options. Mene promises they'll buy your Gold/Platinum jewelry back from you at 90% melt value of the metal. That's higher than any jewelry store will pay you (50-75%?)




How does it hold up?
I've worn a 24K Gold ring for half a year, and other than some minor scratches it hasn't misshapen too much. If it does I can fix it with a Ring Mandrel and hammer. 24K Gold Jewelry isn't as soft as people make it out to be, but you definitely need a solid piece if you want it for daily wear.

There's other options like pendants and charms, and those hold up much better since they aren't exposed to wear and tear like rings are. You can put those on a leather cord to cheap silver chain, and hide the Gold portion under your shirt to have a covert stack of Gold with you. Gold charms are like stackable beads you can sell in in small quantities in desperate times. Mene sells beads in 2g units each for example.


Most of these websites have 24K Platinum too, which does hold up much better than the Gold counterparts, but it's much harder to sell that Gold. The only other benefit of Platinum is likely no one will try to steal it as it just looks like cheap Steel jewelry. Platinum gets micro scratches easily like Gold, but its much less likely to misshapen like Gold is. It's also somewhat heavier too despite its appearance.
