In a nutshell.

The federal government is a federation. Federations aren't national. They don't have citizens. They aren't sovereign.

The UK, Mexico, Canada, Russia as well as the U.S. are federations.

Federations are agents. Their clients are principals.

The U.S. first got its own citizens in 1868. Freed slaves. These freed slaves never had constitutional rights and only got civil rights in 1964. This is the National government. Not the Federal government.

The federal government stopped paying it's bills in 1878. It stiffed it's creditors to the tune of $346,681,016. This sum is not interest bearing so doesn't increase with time.

Trump occupies an office that is both national and federal. He makes edicts that carry weight in the national forum but when Maine objects to one the situation moves from the academic to reality.

Does a governor that represents a PRINCIPAL of the federation outrank the agent? Or is the agent going to dictate details?

Granted the subject matter (guys playing with dolls) could only be more boring if it involved the minimum length no2 pencils could be sharpened to but isn't the topic still secondary? The point is does Trump have enough clout to convert the several States into the role of occupied colonies?

Let's see how interesting this can get.

Perhaps it is about time?
