Somehow I managed to get through 12 years of public school and 4 years at a junior university near Palo Alto, which included a full year of "Modern European History", without hearing a single word about the fact that the Jewish people were expelled from 12-15 countries in Europe during the Middle Ages. The practice in the Middle Ages was for rabbi's and their followers to sometimes kidnap Christian children, to extract blood & other body parts for use in the Passover celebration. It was the furor over this practice that led Queen Isabelle of Spain to expel the Jews from Spain, for example.
