    I wonder if they've gotten less reliable over time. maybe they're cutting corners in the design or something.

    i remember buying one maybe 7 years ago at Home Depot, when spending $4 on a lighter didn't seem excessive. blue thing. it worked good.

    what good is a lighter if it makes you swear every other time you use it ? maybe they should market them as the "G*d-D*mn Lighter" unless of course your swearing involves the use of different words.
