    I don't see the purpose of buying these when a pound of nickels (91 nickels to the pound) has a melt value of $5.37, and a face value of $4.55. No sorting necessary.

    So you can "buy" them at 0.85x spot.

    And there are 146 pre-1982 pennies in a pound, with a melt value is $3.93/pound. (That's a cost of 0.37x spot.)

    Nice novelty factor for the copper bullion but it is too expensive to make any sense as an investment. Pre 96 pennies (Canada) or scrap copper are how I save copper.
