Kucinich also released a statement on his website Friday questioning the constitutionality of the president's actions.

"The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation," he insisted.

"While the action is billed as protecting the civilians of Libya, a no-fly-zone begins with an attack on the air defenses of Libya and Qaddafi forces. It is an act of war. The president made statements which attempt to minimize U.S. action, but U.S. planes may drop U.S. bombs and U.S. missiles may be involved in striking another sovereign nation. War from the air is still war."

"Congress should be called back into session immediately to decide whether or not to authorize the United States’ participation in a military strike. If it does not, the action of the President is contrary to U.S. Constitution. Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution clearly states that the United States Congress has the power to declare war. The President does not. That was the Founders’ intent," the Ohio congressman added.

"The last thing we need is to be embroiled in yet another intervention in another Muslim country. The American people have had enough. First it was Afghanistan, then Iraq. Then bombs began to fall in Pakistan, then Yemen, and soon it seems bombs could be falling in Libya. Our nation simply cannot afford another war, economically, diplomatically or spiritually," Kucinich concluded.

Former presidential candidate Ralph Nader also said the president was committing "war crimes" in the attack against Libya.

"Why don't we say what's on the minds of many legal experts; that the Obama administration is committing war crimes and if Bush should have been impeached, Obama should be impeached," Nader told Democracy Now! Thursday.

    The attacks continue:

I wonder how long Turkey will remain in NATO? Anyway I think the main reason they are resisting a NATO command, is because Khadaffi was good for Turkish business, thousands of Turks, and big Turkish companies went to Libya for construction projects mainly...

Re: U.S. & Europe attacking Gaddafi to Secure Libya's Oil...

    http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/story/2...wednesday.html
Libyan rebels have retreated from the key oil port of Ras Lanouf along the coastal road after coming under heavy shelling from ground forces loyal to leader Moammar Gadhafi.

NATO planes flew over the zone of the heaviest fighting Wednesday and explosions were heard, suggesting a new wave of airstrikes against Gadhafi's forces.

In nearby Brega, however, there was no sign of any aerial bombardment.

"They're waiting for those airstrikes," CBC News reporter Margaret Evans said. "What they're fleeing here are Gadhafi forces, flying down the highway. "There's quite a panicked scene in front of me."

By late afternoon local time, Gadhafi's forces had taken the key oil towns of Ras Lanouf and Bin Jawad and were pushing the rebels back toward Brega.

"We don't know why they're not here," rebel soldier Moftah Mohammed, 36, said of the lack of airstrikes. "Our forces are mainly on the side of the main road. We've heard Gadhafi's forces are pushing deep into the desert" in an attempt to head off rebel forces. "We don't want to be stuck in the middle of that."

Rebel Col. Abdullah Hadi said he expected the loyalists to enter Brega by Wednesday night.

"I ask NATO for just one aircraft to push them back. All we need is air cover and we could do this. They should be helping us," Hadi said.

As the fighting approached Adjabiya, residents fled from the western side of the city, and the highway east to Benghazi was filled with families in vehicles packed with their belongings.

NATO airstrikes have neutralized Gadhafi's air force and pounded his army, but the government's ground forces remain far better armed, trained and organized than the opposition.

They have also adopted new tactics, a U.S. intelligence official said, fitting civilian vehicles with battle weapons and leaving behind their armoured vehicles, making it more difficult for the coalition to identify targets.

Rebels have few weapons more powerful than rocket-propelled grenades and machine-guns, and are no match for Gadhafi's tanks and longer-range heavy weapons.

CF-18s struck a target near Misrata Tuesday night, said Maj.-Gen. Tom Lawson, assistant chief of the air staff.
"Gadhafi has lost the legitimacy to lead, so we believe he must go," U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said after meeting with more than 40 world leaders in London on Tuesday.

"We're working with the international community to try to achieve that outcome," Clinton told reporters.

Britain said Wednesday it had expelled five Libyan diplomats from the country on national security grounds.

Foreign Secretary William Hague told the House of Commons he had ordered the officials to leave following concerns about their actions in Britain.

"The government also judged that, were these individuals to remain in Britain, they could pose a threat to our security," Hague told MPs.

British officials said the Libyan diplomats were regarded as the leading supporters of Gadhafi at the embassy, and had been involved in attempts to harass supporters of the Libyan opposition in Britain.

Prime Minister David Cameron said the country believes that UN Resolution 1973 could be interpreted to allow foreign nations to supply weapons to the Libyan rebels. But he stressed that Britain has not decided whether it will do so.

    CIA operatives in Libya: report

A report in the New York Times on Wednesday said that clandestine Central Intelligence Agency operatives inside Libya were gathering information for military airstrikes and establishing contacts with rebels.

And British officials told the Times that MI-6 operatives and special forces were on the ground directing airstrikes and providing intelligence about government military positions.

The Times report also said the U.S. military was monitoring Libyan troops with U-2 spy planes, a Global Hawk drone and a special aircraft, JSTARS, that tracks large troop movements.

The Associated Press reported that the CIA had helped extract the weapons specialist of an F-15E fighter that crashed on March 21. He had first been picked up by rebels, while the pilot was rescued by U.S. marines.

U.S. Defence Secretary Robert Gates and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton spoke to House members in a closed-door briefing on Libya in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday.

Representatives said they were told the mission had cost more than half a billion dollars so far and could cost an additional $40 million per month, with no clear exit strategy.

No decision had been made yet on arming the rebels, the representatives reported, a controversial issue among members of the international coalition.

So to run down the desires of our western 'leaders' sated by a Gaddafi attack:

    1. Light Sweet Crude.
    2. Destruction of one of the last few countries with a banking system not enslaved to the western global fiat banking scheme.
    3. Snuffing out the best example in the middle east/North Africa of the most money dribbling down from the top to the middle class.
    4. 8th largest stockpile of gold in the world.
    5. Practice for (bring the Canadian AirKillers up to American Mercenary standards) the Iran War (to do it all over again at an even bigger scale).
    6. Addition to chaos in the middle east to prevent regional response during Iran attack.
    7. Build things to destroy things, destroy things then build things infinity loop of pure evil (excess entropy) so the military complex sucks up money and resources and gets rich from destruction preventing this capital and energy's needed use for societal infrastructure.
    8. Stop a 'fellow' elite who also embarrassingly exposes the psychopathic control of goyim game from time to time on stage at western institutions.
    9. Scare, scare, scare the goyim.
    10. Kill, kill, kill!

September 9, 2022 Kevork Almasian Syriana

On this day, 9 September 1999, the “Great African Union” was announced in the “Wagadougou” conference hall in the Libyan city of Sirte, in the presence of dozens of African leaders.

The union would have had a unified African army, an African Central Bank, the African gold currency, the largest gold reserves in the world, the African Resources Organization to manage the oil, gas and minerals, the African Sattelite Authority, the African Communications System, the Unified African Parliament, and the join Africa/Latin America Defence Treaty (SATO).

The union was slowly but surely heading towards being in the future a new rising pole that would interact with the Sino-Russian pole and open up space for the people of the region to breathe and develop.

On the same day again on 9 September 2011, NATO was bombing from land, sea and air, with hundreds of tons of bombs and missiles, on the same hall and same city (and the same man), ending this emerging project while it was under construction and development.

The former spokesperson for the Gaddafi government Moussa Ibrahim says in this regard: I still remember African and international leaders who told me in more than way and time that what happened on 9 September 1999 is what led to 9 September 2011.
