I use organic sunflower oil for oil pulling then rinse and brush with salt water. Seems to be working well for me.

A bunch of toothpastes has diatomaceous earth in them, an abrasive no mater how mild is still an abrasive.

baking soda is very harsh on your teeth.
really, you don't need toothpaste to clean your teeth. water on the toothbrush works ok. it's all about the technique. 45 degree angle (pointed towards the chewing surface [occlusal])at the gumline. gentle small circles. both tongue and roof side along with cheek side. brush for at least 2 minutes. this is called the BASS technique. brushing at night is more important than the morning.
floss floss floss. IMO, flossing is more important than brushing. at least 3 times a week, minimum....
if you complain of bleeding and pain with flossing, this will pass after 2-4 days of everyday flossing. you can reverse ginigvitis in 5-7 days of flossing and brushing (twice daily). if you don't take care of the gingivitis, this leads to periodontal disease. that is boneloss. you can have the healthiest teeth in the world but if you have perio disease, those pearly white healthy teeth with fall right out. perio disease cannot be cured once you have it. it can only be maintained.
nutrition along with proper homecare is very important.
