We need to have a way to keep track of how people react to the Cyprus banking account siezure vis-a-vis the banking system of other nations. There is little being reported on the MSM. But I for one do not trust the MSM to tell us everything. If there are serious banking issues post Cypress, we'll probably be the last to be told. So I will enter here what I have been told as of right now and I invite others to do likewise. Of course, this is all unverified and could include rumors and exaggerations, so do your own due diligence:
One of the metals brokers I deal with called this AM. He said that there are bank runs in Italy and Italian Banks have instituted capital controls similar to Cyprus, limiting cash withdrawals to 300 euros per day per account. He said that most of the banks in Spain are only accepting deposits and cash withdrawals are forbidden, an essential bank holiday. He said Chechnya banking was in kaos. Another friend with associates in Southern Europe confirmed all of this.
Anyone else hearing anything?
