Avacados at $500 each;
Stealing fruit in CA can get pretty expensive. I was working in northern CA several years back and staying in a hotel. One of the workers was walking back to the hotel and saw an ovacado tree hanging over a fence and decided to pick a few to take back to the room. Aparently the owner saw him and called the popo. Several cops surrounded his room and found him with three avacados. Long story short, the owner pressed charges and it cost this guy $1,500 when they were done with him.
